i've been following this project since 2013 since pnoy admin contemplated on building this but with china backing out i don't think this can even start construction under BBM admin dahil back to square one ito same goes to the bicol long haul funded by china dahil ang feasibility studies nyan eh china ang gumawa panibagong study na naman yan ng kung sino mang mapipili na gagawa nito ni hindi pa nga nakakapili kung sino papalit this will take years decade ko na itong sinusubaybayan ang updates kaumay na kakalungkot lang na pinag iwanan na talaga ang pilipinas, malaysia , vietnam, thailand under construction na ang High speed rail nila while laos and indonesia tapos na tayo still back to drawing board

What a laugh. The RP becomes a threat to China by adding 4 more military bases to the existing 5 for a total of 9. The RP becomes an enemy of China and a target if war breaks out between the US and China. Further, it was the RP that pulled the contract. One assumes that Japan will now take over. Japan can fund it with a low interest loan, even though it is on the verge of bankruptcy. Ditto for other potential rail suppliers like France and Germany who are also having economic issues to their declining economies. The RP is the only ASEAN country to increase a foreign military presence in the US-China cold war. The Philippines always points to its claim on the Spratly Islands as the reason for its anti-China stance, but neglect to point out China's claims even before WW2, before the RP was born (after WW2). The US made no claims to the Spratly Island when the RP was a colony of America. Only when oil/gas was discovered in the SCS, did the RP make a claim to a part of the Spratly's. It seems Marcos Jr, is following in his father's footsteps where the original RP claim originated. Like father, like son it seems. "After World War II, the Spratly Islands were noted by the British High Commission of Singapore as territory that was returned to China. In 1971, the following statement was made: “Spratly Island was a Chinese dependency, part of Kwangtung Province…and was returned to China after the war. We cannot find any indication of its having been acquired by any other country and so can only conclude it is still held by communist China. (Far Eastern Economic Review, December 31, 1974).” It should be noted that this was outside of any major conflict in the modern period in the South China Sea (1930-1945, 1945-1956, 1974), and made after an exhaustive study was concluded by the U.K. Foreign and Commonwealth Office. It can therefore can be considered a reasoned statement of recognition made by a knowing and authoritative governmental source who was based in the Southeast Asian before and during World War II. The consistent nature of other statements made by Britain France and Japan suggest that these nations have historically taken the same position as China, and made public statements to that effect." (maritime-executive.com) The RP points to the decision of the World Court of Arbitrations decision favoring the RP, but is remiss in the fact that the chief justice was Japanese and should have recused himself from participating as did Indonesia because of a conflict of interest in claims vs China.(Indonesian claims in the South China Sea and Japan's claims in the East China Sea)

Look for other funding, not from China. Japan is very willing to help without strings attached and low-interest rates. Other European countries are also willing to help explore and not just be contented with China.

When the Filipino let the American to station its military personel in and around the Phillippines and installed all kind of missiles defense pointing at China and they still have South China Sea disputes with China, It is kind of ODD for the Chinese to build any kind of infrastructures in the Phillippines soil. I DON'T THINK THE CHINESE WILL DO IT BECAUSE OF THE MAJOR INFRASSTRUCTURE COMPANIES ARE OWNED AND OPERATED BY THEIR GOVERNMENT. Hello! Thanks for sharing this video on the progress. I am not a Mindanaoan, but I am for the progress of the country. I believe, Mindanaoans deserve their very first railway...for the ease and comfort of travel of our beloved kababayans! Thankful that it is now gathering steam to proceed. It may take time, at least, for me, it has started...and of course, I think, South Korea and Japan offer great alternative in the financial aspect of this project.

What is the comprehensive scope of the Mindanao railway project? Will it exclusively encompass the construction of stations in Davao, Cagayan de Oro, and Laguindingan, or are there plans to include other major cities in Mindanao such as Zamboanga, Butuan, Iligan, and others?

I think about Railroad systems like the LRT in Misamis Oriental, this will not happen because if Cagayan de Oro City has an LRT then it will surpass Metro Manila. Much more if it connected with Iligan City, it will surpass bully Beijing, China.
