Okay it's a great game but collecting the sun medals to pass the stages are really frustrating

My problem with Sonic Generations remaster is that they didn't update the controls so that Sonic turn/look the direction you press when jumping. This causes me to dash in the complete opposite direction during jumps on springs, clouds, etc, numerous times. Frustrating.

The following include opinions I had both before the release and after playing it, with post-release knowledge used to support my main points without being totally required for those points to exist. 0:50 You say it's a remaster first and foremost, but from what I've seen, the majority of the time, money, and effort went into Shadow Generations, and Sonic Generations is included mostly as a safety net. The remastered elements feel very secondary, with minor graphical and gameplay updates that change very little or feel tacked-on and inconsistent. Heck, when I played, there were even several rendering errors, with small parts of the stage disappearing at times (I mostly remember this happening during the Death Egg Robot boss), when I don't recall those errors ever happening when I played the original release of Generations on the same computer (having played a few months prior in order to play the Classic Sonic Improvement mod). The sometimes strange line delivery in the redubbed cutscenes didn't help much; combined with the aforementioned technical issues and the strange and inconsistent implementation of the Drop Dash, it makes the Sonic part feel like an afterthought. Meanwhile, Shadow Generations seems generally more polished, higher budget, and is marketed much more than the Sonic half. It would have been fairly easy to release Shadow Generations entirely separately, and it would feel like it lost very little in terms of completeness.

I was actually excited even in the wake of the IGN reveal. I could see that it wasn't being played properly and that's why it looked janky and boring. Seemed obvious to me.

The effort put into this video is simply incredible, full stop. You hear a lot of people saying “why don’t you have 100k subs?? Your s underrated!!” But here it’s genuinely true. You actually have the quality of a channel that has that 100k subscriber count. Can’t wait for more dude, this video incredible

Honestly, when the villain is literally called "THE TIME EATER" it is strange that everything is exclusively from the past... Obviously, yes, Sonic Team can't really magically predict what will happen in future Sonic games (unless they had one heck of a plan), but from a lore perspective it is strange. Time consists of the past, present, AND future, not just the past. I'm glad they could rectify it a bit with Shadow's levels with Sunset Heights and Chaos Island (with the latter openly being acknowledged to be from Shadow's future).

SXSG is peak while SCU is still a mistake. I'm never buying that Colors Ultimate crap. I can only hope they don't fuck up Unleashed somehow.

I'm still wondering how Crisis City, Kingdom Valley and Mephilles can even be featured when two of them are not supposed to exist in the Sonic timeline due to the event of 06 being wiped out from history. I know that Sonic and Shadow are time traveling through their history... but are they also traveling through what could've happen?

Sonic colors ultimate makes me sad bc i really loved sonic colors as a kid and the remaster seemed to start this weird trend of everyone who used to like colors suddenly hating it :( I was there, i remember, it was and is a good game.

I have yet to figure out the general consensus of the drop dash. lol Seems 50:50 if its more useful for Modern or Classic.
