I have seiko selfdater 13079 can you do a vedio about it?? 🙏
Bro you interested in selling it? I'm in the market for one
the VC is great looking but if it was 38mm it would be perfect
Yeh, it is a little small for modern wearing. I still love it though. Thanks for the comment
I don’t really understand why so many have a problem with quartz watches. They have their place just like mechanical watches do
Really interesting. Thank you
Ahh yes, everyone buys a Pam to play swap the strap. I wanted a bracelet too, i have #990. Bug buggers but they wear light after a week.
Perfect Watch and Perfect Size, I wouldn't do a Dial change, but your watch your choice, it's my Goal to get 1 eventually ❤
New MOMENTUM UDT. Rambo 1.2.3.
No steady shots, zero close up sand no wrist shot
I own a Daytona and an Omega Seamaster 300 Diver Chrono. The Omega has the goods on any Daytona as far as functionality. The chrono buttons even work underwater ... But, a Daytona is owned for its asthetics, not for its functionality. The Daytona is a watch that is typically owned when the owner already has some other watch for functionality. The Daytona compliments clothes better than almost any other watch. They just plain look ccol. It is a piece of jewelry. If you need to know the date, you obviously work for a living and are not living the good life in the leisure class. That's what the Daytona says. It says, "Screw working for a living".
Not solid gold im afraid. They are semi solid until the 00's the 118238 was the first solid link DD. I have a 18238 with diamond indices and the 6 figure watch is 70grm heavier. Also, there are 2 variations of box the standard wine coloured leather box with cedar wood partition for paperwork and the presentation one you have with yours. Also, the book only came with the presentation box.
Nice Zenith but not a Fan of the Arabic numerals on the dials.
Pls can you put the reference for the watches in the description
When I was 8, my dream was to be a president to change the world. Today, I made a decision rather to buy the vintage watch :) Feeling like being a president. Yeah, I have to sell my CIVIC and Harley and...mmmm
Beautiful, but vibes are a problem. Maybe with ignition balancing would be less intense. Would do you think? Also, I suppose 850 vibrates less than 1150
“It doesn’t get that attention” Cause you hide it 💀 What’s the point of even owning it if you barely wear it? I guarantee you nobody is thinking about robbing you
I wear mine 1-2 times a week and I have a super president bracelet.
@@rampantcolt I’d wear it every day if I had one personally
I hope that's true!
Please pressure test that before taking it near water. It’s a 1996 watch
I wish the digital display was readable. They should have fixed this defect years ago....
😅 interesting watch. Thanks for the video
Great video mate. Enjoying my 16710 👌🏼
Great watch! Timeless classic 👌
Did you ever get it RSC serviced? Im looking to get one but im hesitsnt bc it might be difficult to service? Great review and insight btw!
I know your face but almost no shots of the watch. The ones there were were bad too btw.
Lol, thanks. Dude, I'm not a professional photographer nor watch reviewer, I do this because I like it and hopefully its useful to people. If there was a video like this out there when I was considering my purchase, I'd have found it super helpful
Love this piece, great review! Seems to be a lot of untapped value in neo vintage pieces like this. Big 3, precious metal, outside of the brands’ current hype pieces. Curious what led you towards this piece in particular and what you were comparing to/ deciding against?
Hello! Thanks for your comment, I was tempted by a Breguet 3460 but when I tried it on, way preferred this VC.
My dady bought one NKUWAN and he loves it. It had been there for over 10 years when he went out with it.
The ultimate watch. I have the same with diamond markers ❤
As a skateboarder I remember that Nixon watch, it was actually pretty cool. Beautiful rolex you have there
Is it a sin to swap out the black bezel on 1988 GMT Master 1 for a z Pepsi Dial?
I truly appreciate your honesty and discernment. This was the first video I caught from your channel but I’ll definitely be checking out more!
How funny to see his as I've had a P-Luminor for 16 years. Had to dash off and weigh mine and it came in at 167gm but it has a rubber strap. The metal strap clearly almost doubles its weight. A great watch but my only issue is it's had to be fixed/serviced three times now which costs quite a bit, particularly if it has to return to Italy/Switzerland. Apparently this is normal for an automatic watch. And now I've commented here I dare say I'm about to be bombarded with all manner of watches on TH-cam.
Haha, thanks for your comment! Yes, the watch is really heavy with the bracelet. I love the look of the watch with the bracelet, but for me, its too chunky!
your watch has an OP VIII movement which is a V 7750, not an eta 2824.. regardless you buy a panerai for the style, not for its movement..
Thanks, you are right about the movement! Everyone buys watches for different reasons 🙂
Mate, focus the camera on the watch, not your face. Literally all of your videos showcase your face with small clips of the watches. What's the point? I can't watch. Sorry.
I understand you perfectly the lack of date and trying to unscrew the pushers to use the chronograph were the main reasons I never bonded with the Daytona
Thanks for the comment!
That is what a speedmaster is for my friend
I have had a speedmaster and unfortunately that also has some flaws! I am not a fan of handwound 'sport watches', and I hate the plexiglass! Also lug to lug is quite big and doesn't have the 'weight' on leather to feel quite right
I love that it truly is a full set and was your fathers. Treasure it.
So kind, thank you!
Buddy it’s not a Rolex It’s a detona do not sell it Your lucky to have it
Very kind! Thank you
Just a couple tips: 1-never wind the watch hands backwards when setting the time, especially if the displayed time is near the date change period (unless your vintage watch has a specific mechanism for a semi-quickset date change) and 2-never take vintage watches anywhere near water or moisture.
Grateful for this tips, however.... On point 1, I've spoken to various watchmakers about this and there is no consensus that this damages the mechanism. Testimonially, I do occasionally move hands backwards and I have been collecting watches for 10 years and never caused any harm. Point 2, of course these are vintage watches and therefore shouldn't go anywhere near damp rooms eg don't even take it off in the bathroom before a shower, take it off and leave it outside the bathroom.
@@WatcheswornwellJust to clarify, on winding the hands backwards, I generally meant near the time of the date change, so usually 9pm-3am, since many watch movements (especially vintage triple calendars) may begin a date-change process and winding them backwards can potentially damage the parts. There are some vintage watches that have specific semi-quickset date change mechanisms, where the user will advance the hands past midnight, then wind them back to an extent before midnight, then advance them again (repeating this process) to more quickly change the date. If you've personally had no issues setting the time by winding the hands backwards, then by all means continue doing it!
good review and huge video upgrade, nice
Thank you!
I have a 43999, as well as a Rolex, a modern GS, AP, and so on. And I absolutely agree. It's a stunning piece and one of my favorites. Best date change I have ever experienced.. By far. So crisp
Thanks for your comment! I'm glad I'm not the only lover of these 60s GS! Why don't all manufacturers have such a slick date change!
You said it, absolutely incredible timepiece. I'm floored by how beautifully the leather works with this time piece, Yet your perspective on its design not working with its application, a night out, jetskiing, go anywhere, do anything sports watch on leather may not make much sense for your lifestyle. I'm so happy to hear this perspective because it proves you've actually worn and enjoyed the watch the best you could like it deserves. you're going to get an absolute banger in its place. looking forward to seeing what you trade it for!
Thank you for your great comment! It's a really tricky one, because I do love the look of the watch, but I just can't see where it fits against some of my other pieces!
I’ve always heard that the Royal Oak is much more delicate than the Daytona, and needs extra attention.
Interesting! I have tried on a couple of Royal Oaks (name down but probably no chance of getting one!) It felt indestructible
Excellent!
Many thanks!
💯 agree on the screw down pushers. I use my Speedmaster chrono often.
I feel like no one talks about this issue with the pushers but it's really annoying!!
I'm thinking of purchasing a white gold 18239 in the future. Any thoughts on white gold vs yellow gold? Absolutely stunning watch btw and hope you wear it in good health!
Thank you. I love white gold, its a real flex 'to those that know!' Especially because the day date is only available on precious metal Regarding value, I think its less mainstream of course, but still super desirable so wouldn't have thought there'd be much added risk
Can't go wrong with the "Tony Soprano"
Proper watch!
It is a truly beautiful watch. I have one from 1979 and, although I have a lot of watches, I consider this the “perfect” watch.
It is an icon!
maybe more than 20 years ago I travelled to China, I bought a set of Rolex for $25 for my daughter gift... beautiful, impressive.. but I told my young daughter never to use, otherwise might get robbed or killed....hehe
It must've been fake for that price?!
Ive always wanted the day date, had a datejust first then got the gmt master 2 and now cant go back to a 36mm looks so tiny🤷🏻♂️
I think the trend will move back towards smaller watches but let's see!
pueden traducir en español por favor.
Great video, concise and not in the least boring 😉 . I was fortunate to have stumbled upon a transitional piece, an in-between 87-88 R Series full set at steal in 2019 7000.00 euros.
Thank you for your kind comments. Wow, interesting watch, is that a ref 16750 or a 16700?
@@Watcheswornwell it's a 16700
When will more be released? Any ideas? I do like this watch, but I’m not paying what the flippers are asking.
