Hello! You’re very welcome! So in my experience with corporate companies across countries, what I have seen is that we cannot work completely online. We need to be in the office at least 3 days a week. Our job involves too many collaborative, in person tasks like fit sessions, supplier meetings, picking and feeling out fabrics and colors and prints and trims, concept and range presentations too often involve handing out physical references to the team, etc. Most of our job is actually done in the office and due to too many tactile tasks involved, I unfortunately do not see us working completely from home. Hope that answers your question!

Ah! I have only used Illustrator haha! Do you working as a fashion designer too? In my experience as a fashion designer at corporate companies across a few countries, Illustrator is the standard and only software we use to tech pack our designs. The technical team occasionally used excel for sections like the specs or POM as they needed the tables, charts, formulae, etc. Hoping that helps!

@ShantysLovecast Hi! I gotchu! So just make sure that no other shape is highlighted when you start drawing the back neck piece, exactly as seen in the tutorial. If the front neck shape is still highlighted, and if you start drawing the back neck shape at that time, that’s when it changes the front neck into a different shape because Illustrator will assume that you’re trying to edit the highlighted front neck shape and that’s why the line changes into a different shape. You can deselect everything on the artboard by simply clicking anywhere in the background with your selection tool or you can use the shortcuts Shift+Ctrl+A. Let me know if that works!

Ah! You could mention that you were the CEO/Creative Director of your own business. Recruiters will be more interested in the skills you used though. They will want to see Adobe Illustrator, Adobe photoshop, etc. listed in your resume, as well as a portfolio created on these softwares showing moodboards, range design, technical sketches, tech sheets, etc. Hoping that helps!

Hi Sweety! The global standard of how a fashion designer draws at work is with Adobe illustrator on a laptop. Some designers also use Procreate on an iPad. Hope that helps!
