A healthy and prosperous new 2025 to you and yours from your fellow C100 M2 shooter! I like my new C70, but still love my trusty C100 and keep it as safety B cam. Here's my first impressions of the C70 th-cam.com/video/xwNvFrznKkQ/w-d-xo.html
dope
I really love the way you explained.
Thanks
Did you use c-log for these shots?
Always, its the only way to get more details
@@AfricanFilmmakerwhat ISO? I heard that c log at night can be noisy
I own the C100 Mark I. Short looks awesome! Lenses used, please? (thank you!)
Sigma 18-35mm and Canon 50MM usm.
You are simply awesome! 💎👌🏻
What was your iso for the low light scenes
never went above 1250 ISO
Just found your TH-cam page. and i enjoyed you talking about the filmmaking process and equipment involved. I am looking to shoot my first short, and this has inspired me to just get out there and do it. Regardless of the equipment, if you have a vision, it will come together.
Absolutely brother, You just have to start somewhere.
Very well done...
Thank you! Cheers!
Is c100 original of same quality?
All made of C100 mark 2 if that what your asking!
Dude you're amazing
I appreciate that! Thanks
you rock, bro
Bought sigma 150-600 c and used rail system with riser to support it on my c100 mkii. Works great for birds! Added a polarizer to lens then a custom lens hood and I spin lens hood to control polarizer. Warning, buy a lens wrench or you will never get it off. I use f8 and works great with beautiful compression. I use a fluid head that has pan controls horizontal and vertical for smooth pans. Autofocus works even with polarizer on. Set to clog. It zooms into birds so much as to filll the monitor screen from 15 feet away
This sound beautiful, what Tripod do you use? I need some smooth pans🙏🏽
@AfricanFilmmaker I use neewer heavy duty professional tripod. It comes with ball adjustment for uneven ground. Horizontal and vertical tension settings for the pan head. You can see the pan in birds at my door episode 3 when I pan when the pigeon moves. I was looking at manfrotto but neewer has excellent pan head on its professional heavy duty tripod. Also supports c100 mkii with sigma 150-600c with ease.
@@AfricanFilmmaker this video was at 600mm focal length for the pigeon on that tripod. Stabilization OFF
I film mainly with Sony, but I own a C100 Mk1 and I love it! Keep up the good work. You gained another sub 😉😉
Thanks so much!🙏🏽
What app or program do you use to edit the colour or the videos recorded on the osmo pocket 2 in post?
I do everything on Premier Pro, but for the movie I did everything on Davinci.
👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 Great job, I just watched the short film
🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
Henry this was absolutely remarkable!! Great job!! I have been looking to upgrade my 5D Mark IV, maybe I should get the C100, looks great 😅
Thanks brother 🙏🏾 Just like any other cameras you will need to spend a lot of time with it! C100 M2 is an amazing Camera
What are some good key terms in finding the audios you used for the suspense
I think you need to find something that goes with your story especially feelings wise.
Thank you for the detailed insight.
How does this lens handle the issue with center focus? Will it track the subject if they adjust themselves positionally in the frame?
Yes it does, as long as they are in the centre
THE KINGGGG!!!
🙏🏾🙏🏾😅
Did you retire your faithful C100 M2?
😅😅 No sir, all this are rentals
@@AfricanFilmmakerI use a FX7 and FX6 at work- very fine cameras (even the 10-year old FX7). I’m still a Canon man myself but so many good choices on market now
good job. keep the momentum.
very nice.
Loving your channel bro ❤ bless
Thanks bro!
Oh, it's so beautiful. Nice work, man 👏 Im from SA, so keep representing
Thanks brother 🥂
this is cool

THE KING HAS RETURNED 🗣️
😂😂😂 I find it very funny when you say King! I appreciate your energy 🙏🏾🙌🙌
Tell your boom mic operator to get that closer or put it on a stand!!
Yah luckily I miked him as well!
@@AfricanFilmmaker sorry to harass your assistant but I was a sound guy for years and the closer the shotgun to your subject the more pristine the audio.
@@Sutterjack I agree with you! This is my intern and this was first time to see the boom mic! 😅😅
Yes - always have a UV or Skylight filter on. Sigma makes some great glass. The 18-35 f1.8 is nice lens for the super 35 sensor - I own one.
Its an amazing lens!
Did you take the plunge and upgrade brother? Fine camera - I use one of these at my work, but I've stayed foolishly loyal to canon with my personal C70.
No brother, this was gig and reluctantly I had to go with Sony, 😅 video coming up soon!
I'm also a c100 mk ii owner...Makes me happy to still see people using it for narrative filmmaking !! Can't wait to see it
Its still an amazing Camera for me 💪🏾👌🏾
I used it too in my work, thanks for sharing your experience. See ya ;-)
Great to hear!🙏🏾
I'm very interested by your job, i'm going to follow you !
Awesome, thank you!🙏🏾
Good job ! i love the color grading. i bought a c100 mk2 there is 3 weeks ago and by your movie, you proved i did a good choice !
You made the best decision brother !!

Dope! I am considering getting one of these and you just sold me with this video!
Glad you liked it,can’t wait to see your magic with it!
Great videos!
Thanks!
I like it. Fantastic. I did a similar thing on my M2 called "London Christmas Lights 2016" on my TH-cam channel. Hope you still got the camera. I'm still using it to this day. It has a clean and uncluttered image that I've not been able to create on any newer cameras costing four times as much!
I still use it and struggle to let it go! 🙏🏾🙏🏾
Wow! Well done, sir! Great execution with the limited time you had. It felt like a scene from a film or a series. My favorite was the last shower scene; it was ominous and intriguing. The lighting and sound design would be perfect for short horror stories. Keep working, brother. You have reignited my motivation to create films. It's great to see more African filmmakers emerging, which helps diversify storytelling from various perspectives and angles. Great work! I wish you great success in your future endeavours.
Thanks so much, this is are very powerful and truly you inspired me, So thanks so much again for watching and writing this! 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
@@AfricanFilmmaker of course keep working brother!
This is awesome. I am using my pocket 2 for several documentary projects.
Its very useful little camera!
Its very useful little camera!
Bravo! Good photography!
Thanks 🙏🏾
I started using a Canon EOS 750D, which was terrific, even with the cheap Canon 50mm lens. If the C100mkII is better, I'll be blown away.
Its the best camera for the price! especially in the saturated camera market of now days.
@@AfricanFilmmaker I'm about to get my c100 from Facebook Marketplace today. I found your video while looking for reviews. Thanks. I subscribed also ✊🏽

I have been making films for about 15 years now. I have learned a lot from youtube. Thanks brother I appreciate that! 🙏🏾
Well done. Wow.
Thanks brother!
I'm looking at a Carl Zeiss Vintage lens. Those look legit. I've got a question. How long do you reckon I can film on a 256gb memory card on the C100Mkii? Awesome video
Thanks Man!, Waw I have 64 GB Cards and I can film all day, I mean all day! I have filmed some live events and the only thing I changed was the battery, so with 256 gb it will take forever, the files are very small even shooting in cinema mode.
Thank you so much @@AfricanFilmmaker I think that even allows me to downsize the cards I wanna get for it. I had no idea it was that efficient.
@@RumbaniNdhlovu Anytime bro, Absolutely 64 is very enough if you can have 2 your done.
@@AfricanFilmmaker This definitely helps alot.
