Henry - just one more thing I wanted to note - I started outputting my C100 files in Adobe Premiere in 4k before I upload to TH-cam - very subtle, but I do notice a slight enhancement in quality - probably fights the TH-cam compression a bit. Some of my C100 footage (wide shot is EOS R) - th-cam.com/video/Zfymg4eu5Mo/w-d-xo.html
@TastyMaxim I think Canon made great improvements with Clog 2 and 3 AFTER the C100 - I've never been a big fan of Clog 1 in the C100 - I always preferred WideDR. Maybe there's a LUT out I just didn't try, but I always struggled. th-cam.com/video/esyJkKmcW6k/w-d-xo.html
You have the passion and you have a knack for storytelling. FYI I sold one of my C100's recently (still holding onto one!) and bought a used C70. So far very happy with the camera and it feels familiar as it's a super 35 sensor too. I miss the EVF though !
@@AfricanFilmmaker The C70 has been going for about $4k USD used on Craigslist California USA - I got mine, in excellent condition, for $3500 with a small rig cage, extra battery and 128Gb card. I'd hesitated buying one, but the significant firmware updates sold me that Canon still was committed to the camera. Like I said I don't like the lack of EVF but that seems pretty common in modern cine cams. Just like the C100, the super 35 sensor is not a low light champ, but if you've worked with C100 for years you won't be disappointed. People think I'm crazy holding onto my C100 but it's just so reliable, records forever on one battery, has the wonderful tiny gradable files that it's still great for a safety cam, B cam, and I actually like it for time lapse too. Nice to be shooting 4K, but you know sir it's not the camera....it's the story, good lighting and sound that makes a good video! Use what you have to the fullest and upgrade when the time is right !
Thank you for your deep explanation, truly what I need from the C70 is those 12 Bit RAW, I recently bought a rs3 pro gimbal and the c70 seems like a best fit!, you where very lucky with yours having all those accessories for 3500, did you get any speed boosters?
Yes the codec is a huge improvement over the C100 but I still can’t bash the C100 - just so reliable, and the 4k sensor compensates a lot for the poor codec. I’m in no big hurry to buy the speed booster for the C70. I’m very happy just using my old EF lenses on the C70 with the basic adapter -
Honestly for a gimbal cam I would buy the Panasonic S52 with a canon adapter. The camera is amazing for the money (under $2k) and Is much lighter and practical for a gimbal cam -
Thanks for the videos and tips you upload, Im learning a lot from your work. I aspire to do short films myself. having both C100 ii and DJI RS 2 pro. I must say the combination is very heavy.
Napenda kutumia EOS badala ya C-log ama zingine. Hii ni kwa vile i am not competent in color grading. Naomba msaada wako kufanya settings nzuri ili nipate picha nzuri
@@prince_artlot Its good but the subject gas to be in the central of the frame as you may know the c100 mk ii does not have subject or eye tracking just normal out focus. It works well especially for stead shots.
good job. keep the momentum.
👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 Great job, I just watched the short film

Thank You! Do you mind to share the price tag of the used C70?, I have been searching on line for this camera and the prices are extremely high!

Great job. What lens was used for the short?
Mostly sigma 18-35 Ef
Hi mate, does sigma 18-35mm have autoface detect? Thanks
Yes it does and its very good, but depend with the camera you gonna use with!
