Does a regular super hot bath stimulate mitochondrial function similar to the sauna? I would think it might be even more impactful, due to water’s high heat transfer (relative to the air only in a sauna).

Just checked the prices and it seems like the test is about 400$. It’s a lot. Would you recommend any labs/clinics in the GTA who would do the testing? I’m concerned I might be affected by mold sickness. Circumstances made me move into this old house basement 4.5 months ago. Now I feel pretty sick most of the time. Went to the doctor, got prescribed steroid nasal spray. Before that I was sick with the bacterial infection, my son got 2 bacterial infections just recently. I did regular bloodwork and it came back normal. The family doctor kinda ignored the mold concerns.. not sure what to do… Edit: oh and I forgot to mention that in the beginning of September I did notice baseboards having black mold, but after the heater started going in the house it wasn’t shown again. Am I just paranoid or is it really that serious?

If you live in an older home; if you live in a humid environment, or if you are sensitive, an ozone generator is your friend. Run it 30 minutes once a month - but - it is a tool that must be used correctly! Leave the house and let your pets outside while it is working. Ozone is a gas that will penetrate fabrics, carpets, and even drywall to get into the studs of walls and insulation. Mold is an easy thing to remedy but don't try to clean it - that is dangerous. Don't bother testing - mold and it's cousin, mildew are here to stay; you will never be rid of it but ozone will deactivate it and it's toxins. ...and leave your house smelling fresh and clean.

    • @dr.robinlewis

Dear Dr. Robin, First, I want to express my gratitude and admiration for your incredible work. Thank you for the positive impact you’re making in the field. A year ago, I moved into a new home, only to discover hidden black mold behind the wall paint. Since then, my health has taken a downturn. As a member of the Greek National Shooting Team, I was training rigorously four times a week. However, after moving, I’ve been feeling consistently weak and drained of energy. I’ve consulted several doctors, and one suspected Rheumatoid Arthritis, although the diagnosis remains uncertain. Instead of following the prescribed immunosuppressive drugs, I decided to take a natural and holistic approach. I’ve been supplementing with magnesium, zinc, vitamin D3 (30,000 IU), potassium, CoQ10, ashwagandha, and more. I deeply value your expertise and would love to explore the possibility of working with you as my personal holistic doctor. I will send you a private message on Instagram with my contact details to discuss this further, if that’s convenient for you. Thank you so much for considering my request. I look forward to your response. Best Regards Nick

Everyone is affected differently and her children moved out so far less exposure. My Dad either knew about but didn't give it that much importance or didn't know about it. Either way, neglectful homeowner and landlord. My Mom was healthiest when travelling. They did quite a bit of it. No emergency room visits until she arrived home. Churgg Strauss is a very rare disease. Her respiratory issues up to that point were moderate to severe. She wouldn't have been able to escape from it. It was in areas she frequented the most.

I can “smell” mold. Long story short I started having severe respiratory problems months BEFORE a substantial amount of mold showed up on our bathroom’s walls. I first thought it might be due to high humidity (we live in the Oregon forest) but the smell and coughing was most prominent in our bedroom next to the bathroom. When the mold showed on the wall we called a a plumber who said “no water leaks detected”, so my husband cracked the shower’s wall and found a busted pipe where the water was pouring like an open faucet directly into the crawl space. Restoration and repairs were partially covered by the insurance but we had to borrow $50k to pay for the rest. ALL of my respiratory problems faded completely away immediately.

The reality is that admitting the widespread health impacts of mold would disrupt many powerful industries, from construction to insurance. If mold were universally recognized as a significant health hazard, it would force a reckoning with building standards and environmental regulations that would be expensive and complex to address. This would open the door to massive financial liability and potential legal battles for property owners and corporations. Many symptoms related to mold exposure-like respiratory problems, fatigue, and cognitive issues-are often brushed aside as nonspecific or attributed to other conditions. This creates a convenient loophole where those affected find it hard to get the acknowledgment or treatment they need, and accountability for mold contamination is rare. The pushback comes from a system trying to maintain the status quo to avoid triggering a chain of responsibility, regulations, and economic shifts. This is why advocates, whistleblowers, and even concerned doctors can struggle or face pushback when trying to elevate the conversation. The economic and legal stakes are simply too high for powerful interests to let this issue gain traction.

Didnt listen to the whole thing, but I find it funny that you didnt mention the obvious. Citric acid is in all food products, and is made from black mold. Look it up. You dont have to breath black mold when its already in all the foods in America. Peatarians dont eat foods with citric acid, gums, PUFAs, artificial flavors or colors, lactic acid based foods and the like. We do eat foods very high in sugars, Saturated fats and nutrient dense foods like beef liver and oysters. Dr. Ray Peat for the win. Boom drops mic.

Great video. Very informative. I'm taking a supplement that has helped me immensely but I'm concerned about the level of Folate: 15mg L Methylfolate from 18.75 L-5 methylfolate, calcium salt) which is indicated on the amount per serving on the bottle as 25 mg DFE and 6250% Daily Value. Fortunately also coupled with B12 as methylcobalamin 1000 mcg or 41666% Daily Value. Seems extremely high to me as well. Not sure whether to take it sparingly or daily or what.

For many people you need to trail and error to see what dosing schedule makes you feel best 😊

@dr.robinlewis Thanks. So far I feel great taking that stuff but again Wow that's a heavy dosage. I'd rather not end up with side effects. I am thinking of cutting back to once a week to see how that feels.

It’s worth looking into mold testing I’d say. It’s the only way to know with some level of certainty.

As an engineer I suggest other ideea about how PEMF function. If you look at prof. Gerard Pollack theory about 4 state of water, will see the fact water in human body is structured water, but not all. Two thing improve this type of water in cell. One is infrared radiation -> Red light therapy and other thing is electronegativity of cell -> PEMF devices or grounding therapy.

Yes, I have heard of this theory and it fascinates me! Thanks for sharing.

Why is your jaw broken? Did you get TMJ from stimulants prescribed by a real doctor and telling us to take ashwaganda? Lmao

Sorry, everyone has a temporomandibular joint. You have visible TMJ dysfunction. How are you going to explain your surgery to people? Can a naturopath do it?

Except we need methyl folate not folic acid or any other form of folate.

Fantastic Video! If you have piles of extra money that you can spend on random health toys ... check out the Shealy-Sorin Gamma PEMF - It's $1600... The difference is it goes into the gamma range. So if we think of sleep cycles... you got delta, theta, alpha (dream state 8-10 hz ), and then beta. (15-20 hz) Gamma? is 30-50hz and no other device has been devised to reach gamma (the brain!) It was made by Dr Norm Sheely who's a medical doctor.. a neurosurgeon. You can look it up and see videos.. it's highly impressive stuff!

I don't know .. I've always lived in the Intermountain West. It's too dry generally for mold. We worry more about things like Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever.

I don't know about PEMF, but I have a Thermotex near infrared pad that I have been using for 25+ years. After getting Covid & MCAS, I discovered research from Brazil where they used near infrared vests on people in the hospital for Covid. The experimental group did much better for respiration & improved immunity than the controls. I still use it on my chest daily on the high setting for 15 minutes & I'm breathing so much better. I think some of those PEMF pads also have infrared settings as well.

Yes, many incorporate other technologies like infrared, which is another very useful technology. Thank you so much for sharing

@dr.robinlewis I do believe in a very real sense that the only thing we may ultimately keep is what we give away, and so in that regard you must truly have an abundance of kindness in your life. Thanks again for being you and for everything that you do. (And as I'm an old man who lives very far away I'm not trying to score any points here lol. Have a great rest of your week.)
