    Thanks for the update, I would like to monitor the BBQ temp in a public space (hopefully it can be mounted under the plate) with Shelly pro 4pm (power and temp). Happy to test when you're ready to go international.

    Thanks for the update! As you guys know I've been playing with the MTR-1, and I'm actually planning on setting it up to face my car in my garage, and change the RGB LED based on my car's parking position. Good to see the battery-powered options because I'd really love to see something that doesn't require wall power, and have a decent battery life. I also love the remote temp probe that runs on battery. If you're interested, I'd definitely put it through the ringer on my garage freezer! Super interested in the soil multisensor, and good call on using capacitance for the sensor. Can't wait to test that as well. Will it use Wifi or a lower energy wireless like Zigbee? Keep up the good work!

      Thanks for the comment! Stay tuned, there is a lot happening over the next month! The plant sensor will be wifi initially. I'd love to offer multiple communication methods for our sensors but that is many many months away. Maybe a goal for 2025. We really appreciate the support and sharing the cool things you are doing with the MTR! -Trevor

    Just bought one of these. After testing it over the past couple days with Home Assistant, overall I really like it! A few questions/things I'd like to see improved: 1) Is there a way to adjust the gate energy for a still vs. moving target like on the MSR-1? I looked into the config in Home Assistant and didn't see it on there. 2) Temperature correction. It looks like using the static temperature correction factor numerical input in HA doesn't yield great results as far as the sensor's temperature readout accuracy. The offset is just a fixed value, and it seems I am always chasing an accurate temperature reading by adjusting the offset. I have another temp sensor in the room that is measuring accurately, so I am using the known temp value of my dedicated sensor to change the temp offset function on the MTR-1. I am thinking about setting up an automation to modify your offset entity based on some thermal testing I'll have to do on your sensor to get a good temp profile and programmatically change the offset to get a better external temp reading, but it would be nice if this was built into the sensor's firmware itself so the temp readout is more accurate. 3) 3rd target detection doesn't seem to work for me at all. When I enable Multi-Target Tracking, it does a good job of sensing Target 1 and Target 2, but never picks up Target 3. Maybe there is some setting that I'm missing that enables this? 4) Lux meter offset when using RGB LED. More of a "nice to have and probably not possible" thing for me, but it would be cool if the sensor could ignore the lux output of its own RGB light and just measure the surrounding light. It registers around 5-6k lux when its on-board LED turns on. I have some ideas of using the lux sensor and target positions to trigger position-based night lights, and being able to ignore the sensor's own light ouput could prove useful for that endeavor. Just discovered this team and what you're doing, so keep up the great work!

    • @ApolloAutomation
      @ApolloAutomation 14 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Hey, thanks for the comment! 1. Unfortunately there is not. It is not a part of the radar sensor inside so it is not something we can add 2. If you are handy with ESPHome yaml there are more accurate ways to make the offset. You can use multiple temperature points to build the offset vs just the one we have. 3. Yes it is much better at 2 targets. The 3rd target has to be pretty spread out and a very clear view to detect the third 4. That is a good idea, or automatically apply the offset if you know the LED is on. Thanks for the nice comment, we are having a blast and enjoying the response from the community. We've got another live stream tonight at 8pm EST! Thanks, Trevor

    • @lanfordautomation
      @lanfordautomation 14 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@ApolloAutomation Thanks for the response! Those are good points. For 2) I wasn't even thinking about the flexibility of ESPHome with this thing! So if I modify the ESPHome yaml and build my own firmware using the HA add-on and load it on the device, it won't break any other functionality? (Assuming I keep the yaml separate from the base yaml) For 4) The lux values change slightly based on the color selection of the RGB from my experience, so like the thermal offset, maybe I can do the same for the lux offset in ESPHome yaml? This sensor is amazing! I really like the plotly graph that the community (maybe you?) made. It's super helpful and a great way to visualize the targets in HA. Looking forward to the next thing yall make!

    How is it compared to your own ODROID-M1S based hub? Also curious how does the ODROID-M1S compare to RPI5?

    • @Bunton33
      @Bunton33 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks for your comment! They are all similar and great options. However, the Apollo Hub (ODROID-M1S) has 8GB of RAM, 64GB of onboard eMMC and an option for NVMe storage. The HA Green has 4 GB of RAM and 32GB of eMMC. Both of these devices have the same CPU/chip and come pre-flashed with HAOS. As for the RPI5, it can have up to 8GB of RAM but it does not have onboard memory, the CPU/chip is not as fast and it is not pre-flashed with HAOS. Again, all are great options and everyone has different needs! We hope this helps and are happy to answer any questions! Best, Justin Apollo Automation

    Hello, @3:00 I am running an HLK-LD2410B straight (just supplying 5v). I pick up the info/data via an ESP32 Bluetooth proxy connected to HA. When I open my device, I see same entities you have listed, but I don't have a "configuration" section like you do. Most of the entities were hidden by default, but I was able to enable them. I can't seem to find a way to "enable" the configuration. I assume the configuration section is something setup by the apollo integration vs the genericl hlk integration?

    Last I read, the SCD40 requires recalibration every week to work properly. This is the same I see with my tests, which basically makes the unit worthless. What is your experience with this?

    • @ApolloAutomation
      @ApolloAutomation 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hello, thanks for the question. The SCD40 does have an auto calibrate that by default runs weekly. We've disabled this (but can be enabled by user) since if the sensor isn't exposed to fresh air, it will greatly throw the SCD40 out of calibration. While the drift due to not calibrating doesn't seem to be in the data sheet, we've not noticed anything drastic with the auto calibration turned off. It holds calibration pretty well and the user can recalibrate anytime they'd like. I've got my AIR-1 with CO2 running for a couple months without calibration and it tracks with a freshly calibrated SCD40. Did you have the auto calibrate on or off during your test? What are you using as a reference to measure that the sensor has drifted? If you haven't yet, feel free to join our discord, there are a lot of really active users there and frequent good discussions. discord.gg/mMNgQPyF94 One last thing to check is the quality/source of the SCD40. There are a lot of cheaper copies of it out there compared to the actual Sensirion unit, that could also always introduce some odd readings possibly. Let us know if this was helpful or if you have any other questions. Datasheet: sensirion.com/media/documents/48C4B7FB/64C134E7/Sensirion_SCD4x_Datasheet.pdf Thanks, Trevor

      @roysigurdkarlsbakk3842 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks a bunch. I have turned off autocalibration, yes, since the whole system didn't look good at all. But then, if I use standard probing, what was that, every 4th second? It climed steadily and after a week, it's climed 100ppm or more. So I tried to change that to every 30s (low power option) which made it drift the other way until it just read 0ppm. I'm quite sure, now, that what I bought is some cheap shite from China. I guess I should try with a real one next time. Where did you get your module, and what was the price? @@ApolloAutomation

    • @ApolloAutomation
      @ApolloAutomation 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hmm, interesting it changed with the update interval. Ours by default uses the ESPHome default of 60s between readings. Again like with nearly everything, this is configurable by the user. esphome.io/components/sensor/scd4x.html It'll be a little tough to compare since we use the SMD sensor component so we can solder it right to our PCB vs something that might be used with a development/bread board. It is more difficult to know where the breakout modules you find are getting their actual sensor from. Price is a little tough as well since we are doing large quantity buys. I'm a big fan of Octopart for price shopping. octopart.com/search?q=scd40&currency=USD&specs=0&manufacturer_id=921 If you are looking for a breakout board I've had good luck with Adafruit components www.adafruit.com/product/5187 that breakout is $10 cheaper than our MSR-1 with CO2.

      Sorry for the delay! I'm not sure if you guys help on our Discord but you can try using the reset radar button and/or the factory reset radar button. This should get it going again.

      Using the reset radar button and/or the factory reset radar button should work.

    Very helpful, Thank you. A suggestion: try to keep the audio at the same level across all of your video cuts. I usually have to turn the volume up and down so I can hear you adequately when you get to a segment that is softer or louder. Keep up the good work.

      Appreciate the feedback! I'll see about normalizing the audio in my editor. Using two different microphones probably contributed to that. Live and learn, eh? Glad you found the video helpful? -Andre

    This is great, and from last video I feel like I understand the gates, but is there something that can tell me the orientation from the sensor of the detected movement? Like it’s 3 feet away at the 2 o’clock position vs 5ft away at the 11 o’clock position? Or perhaps a way to set boundaries to block off detection too far to the right of the sensor (narrow the cone)?

      Unfortunately the module in the MSR-1 can only set raw distances, so it cannot do the more granular adjustments you mentioned.

    Some viewers have noticed an error on our part in this video: Andre said that zones are defined in inches. This is incorrect and we apologize for that, they are defined in centimeters. We had added an annotation to the video to correct this, but on mobile the captions are turned off by default so they do not show up. We hope this helps clear things up!
