Awesome job Andre. You probably saved me hours of experimenting trying to figure things out. I appreciate your efforts.

Glad it helped! It was a learning experience for myself as well, haha.

Thanks for these tutorials! Mine showed up a couple days before your first video about the gates, did quite a bit of noggin scratchin' figuring out how the gates and zones worked together. These tutorials will really help out other new users.

We're so glad to hear this! Admittedly learning how to tune the radar settings was a learning experience for myself as well while making these videos, so I'm glad you found them helpful!

Very helpful, Thank you. A suggestion: try to keep the audio at the same level across all of your video cuts. I usually have to turn the volume up and down so I can hear you adequately when you get to a segment that is softer or louder. Keep up the good work.

Appreciate the feedback! I'll see about normalizing the audio in my editor. Using two different microphones probably contributed to that. Live and learn, eh? Glad you found the video helpful?

This is great, and from last video I feel like I understand the gates, but is there something that can tell me the orientation from the sensor of the detected movement? Like it’s 3 feet away at the 2 o’clock position vs 5ft away at the 11 o’clock position? Or perhaps a way to set boundaries to block off detection too far to the right of the sensor (narrow the cone)?

Unfortunately the module in the MSR-1 can only set raw distances, so it cannot do the more granular adjustments you mentioned.

Thanks for the video. How is still target calculated and is there any way to tune it? I've recently bought a couple of MSR-1s and am using still target for automation. While some of them are working very well, others have a lot of false triggers. Any suggestions?

Yes, you can tune it using engineering mode to help eliminate the false triggers. It sounds like you'll want to increase the move/still energy thresholds to make the MSR-1 less sensitive. We have a beginners guide video as well so be sure to watch it.

I am unable to get engineering mode to work. I toggle it on in HA and it stills says unknown. Any ideas how to fix it?

Are you seeing mmWave entities in HA?
      Thanks,

did you solve this. was it a faulty module perhaps?

Sorry for the delay! I'm not sure if you guys help on our Discord but you can try using the reset radar button and/or the factory reset radar button. This should get it going again.

Using the reset radar button and/or the factory reset radar button should work.
