All the jantzens ive used sounded edgy until about 40 hours, they then go dull and flat for about 1-2 hours and then boom! Stunning. Very very weird run in journey. I thought it was me imagining things when it first happened but then the same thing then happened on 2 more occasions, 3 different speakers.

Caps definitely “run in” it’s also well worth replacing resistors too. The gains aren’t as big but definitely worth doing.

Russ Andrews recommends simplifying the crossovers as an alternative to replacing parts... He sells a kit to improve Spendor BC1S..he rolls the tweeter/super tweeter off with 1 cap each... And no cap etc on the woofer... He has done this to many speakers... With great results.... I have done it to my Tannoys.. Can't fault Russes idea... And it cost fuck all... I used the tweeter caps already in the speekers

Sounds good yeah inductors are very important aspect to get right are they foil or wire?
What about trying some milflex copper film in oil caps, a lot of people are rating them as the best capacitor, i haven't had any experience but they do seem to be very good what people are saying, have you tried them?
Merry Christmas what are you looking forward to this year What's Santa going to drop down the chimney lol you better write your request now🎉
Good choice for stands open cell foam that's the way to go even on stands
. I would isolate the tweeter use blu tack is best I can hear something going on at the end of the song didn't seem right like some vibrations getting into the treater. Just get yourself a 3 or 4 mm bead rolled out thick, make sure you cover the screw holes as well on the edge.
Worth doing it for the bass driver as well and maybe better for the bass driver that's where most of the distortion is coming from entering its own driver entering the cabinet and entering the tweeter you might get better time alignment as well could be the issue I'm hearing. Measure what the centre coil overhang from the woofer and what it is on the tweeter, with the speed of sound and your given distance do they line up!? make sure they do very important in the mid-range vocals lower upper frequencies not so much with bass below 250 hertz.

Thank you , and let us know about the result . Even 30 years later, I still find them so beautiful in term of design . Pitty I was never able to be happy with them.
