Ramkhamhaeng Night Market is open daily from 15:30- 22:30, and usually gets moving around sunset as the sidewalks in front of Ramkhamhaeng University turn into a bustling market with a vast selection of cheap goods and food, and a nice secluded park.

one side of Sukhumvit Road is occupied by vendor stalls between soi 5 and soi 21 (Asoke road). If you go out shopping for cheap goods, Lots of shirts, trousers, other textiles, fake watches, fake designer goods etc. are on sale. DVDs are also on sale, and unfortunately a lot of pornography is in plain view for sale on this 'family-oriented' walking way.

One of the top areas in Sukhumvit for places to eat, popular with Thai and foreign visitors. Located only a few steps from Nana BTS, you eat at wobbly metal tables. all GONE now...condos. I ate at this street every day, every stay, each winter from 2007. Hostel was 2 minutes down the street. Early years MOST there were locals, it was famous for good eats. Pictures of food so you could order (as farang) did not appear until 2009 as I recall. a VERY great loss. The junta seeks to eliminate street sales it seems, not modern city thing. Bah. Head north to Issan and it's still there
yes its a great loss. thailand was no.1 for street food and attracted many tourists. So the army close it down, and then say they want to attract tourists. confused thinking.

I ate there recently. An incredibly expensive restaurant. Way overpriced seafood to pre-purchase at the market side, and then having to pay extra fees for cooking. Just the cooking fees alone could have paid for a decent meal elsewhere.
some people like though because they do not like to sit at the roadside eating street food. I love the street food but I take my mum to this place so it is courses for horses if you know what I mean

not just for tourists. A thai friend of mine took all her employees here for xmas party there will always be the contrast between hi soh/lo soh. Many thais here on the day I shot this video it is for a special occasion though
