Gentle and short Movement Session
Welcome back everyone! It's been hectic few weeks.
This one is inspired by Jon Yuen (www.yuenjon.com/) and his 'yonga' session. What this basically means is we use few (in this particular case 3) simple movement patterns and we spread them out across 9 minute, each pattern for roughly 45 sec and then alternating every minute. Intention is to keep it light and that it 'shouldn't' feel like a workout.
We're covering squat, quadrupedal position and hanging. Be free to adjust any of the positions to fit your current level of flexibility and strength.
Excellent session for when you don't really feel like moving much but still want to do something, or as a nice warm-up.
If you enjoyed this and other sessions on this channel please check out my new training app 'Physical Empowerment' that comes with free 7-day trial. The app has tons of follow along sessions, divided into strength, skill and mobility sections, with added programmes to follow as you wish. Probably my most accessible way of coaching others!

New standalone 10-week full body strength programme for beginners and intermediates 'Basic Strength' (also available on the app)

Here we have something slightly different, a traning Vlog of sorts. I figured why not combining what I am already doing rather than filming separate material. Hope you find some insight and enjoyment here! Looking forward to my brand new Physical Empowerment training app launching soon! www.physicalempowerment.com/ denchija?hl=en #calisthenics #movement #upperbodyworkout #hspu #h...

Amazing moves 👌
Excellent exercise, Thanks so much!!!
🙌💪
Useful!
Thank you, great workout!
Just took this class before teaching floorwork and it was the *perfect* warm up! Thank you Dan!!
😍 That’s so nice to hear! Glad you enjoyed it!🙏
Great session - thank you! I can imagine doing these movements during breaks while working from home.
Thank you for this!
Very nice message indeed thank you
Nice message. Males me feel a little better for having no handstand 😮😢
Absolutely soothing. Just gave this a go. Thank you so much! edit: the first set movements.
Thank you! Loved this movement break! ❤
I love this kind of video
Thanks! It's a good break between day tasks
You’re very welcome 😊🙏
Damn! Like rubber and water as a person!
🤣🤣🤣
do you have a movment to replace the hanging? in my work space there isnt option to do hangs...
Unfortunately for this one not really. Any lat stretch perhaps, banded shoulder extension/dislocates maybe.
Hi. You can hang, using a cloth or towel to protect your hands, from any door, at least in Spain any door will hold your weight. It is not the most comfortable thing in the world but I do it this way when there is no other option available.
if your movement exercises do not prevent old people from losing mobility then i am not interested
Can I do this with a torn MCL in my left and cracked patella in my right? I haven't a lot of cartilage
Only you can be the judge of that! If I could recommend something it would probably be to initially reduce the range of motion and not go too deep into knee flexion in order to see how it feels. Gradually increasing it with time.
I love it!! Wonderful!!! Thank you so much.🤍🧷🌸
Thank you for stopping by!
I totally enjoyed this session ! Thank you so much ! Except for the last movement 🥵it was simple but yet challenging. When it is too hard, I'm more focused in the difficulty of the movement rather than being focused in being tuned with my body. I end up being frustrated with the feeling I did everything wrong. But you make it easy to understand and following along isn't a pain. Thank you again ! I'll come back to this routine more regularly !
I am currently right there... I have been exercising for years and I've lost all willpower to do anything for weeks now. I was blaming the bad weather, the lack of sun, etc.... But it seems I can't find something simple and easy to do to keep going. Maybe I should reconsider my why. Thank you for sharing your thoughts on this matter.
I have only a bit of the first thing, non of the other 2, wish me good luck guys
That first stretch didn't look simple, btw. But like always, love the motivation and reminder of simplicity. Thanks!
Thanks. I would say side splits are pretty simple in theory tbh, but definitely not easy😅 Also, I was primarily referring to simplicity of programming when life gets busy. High volume, long workouts, overcomplicated movements that require lots of mental friction etc are the first thing I kick out of window when me/my clients get into a stressful period in their lives
@@physicalempowerment Understood. Thanks!
Great movement snack to do in my hotel room after a day of touring on my feet ❤
Hey, i just looked at your one arm high bridge rotation, wondering how you'd compare it in difficulty to the full qdr rotation bridge?
I find it much harder and also a bit more ‘static’, low bridge always felt more accessible and fluid especially during the sequence. That being said there are people who can comfortably execute both😊
@@physicalempowermentthey both feel very tough for the connective tissues, I'm feeling my right shoulder a lot today after a session of QDRs with a little rotation, and low and high bridge rotations with as much on one arm as I can manage
What ur favorite movie in 2024?
Probably Dune 2, I’ve seen it way too many times😅 I know there are better ones but this one stuck with me!
@physicalempowerment nice gonna have to check it out now lol

Best way to start my day! Thank you so much
A beautiful message, wonderfully said! Needed to hear that. Thank you.
Be honest with yourself then there's no regrets, no fake goals.
Nice 👍
That jumping move at the end looks fun
Good advice - and music. Happy New Year!
Extra points on 3 strips ;)
Nice ! Gonna have to rewatch it to pic up some moves
powerful
Thank you!
🫶🏻
That was great! Just what I needed after a few weeks of not moving properly and feeling pretty creaky! I’m back in my body. 😊🙏🏻
Amazing ❤
Thank you so much for all your video. These morning i did the coffe flow and tomorow this one. Thank you
Glad you enjoyed it😊
Does the color of the band help with my enormous fear of dislocating my shoulders?
Shared! This was my post: "Love, love, love this... whatever it is. Every session I've done so far is very approachable (if you already have movement experience especially) very adaptable, and invigorating. I've been doing a fair amount of strength-based calisthenics over the last couple years, but also looking for more... spherical movements to counter the angular, direct, and serious nature of my yoga practice. This is just properly fun!"
Wonderful! That’s amazing to hear, glad you enjoyed it😊
So awesome! Thank you.
I loved this session! My body feels much more fluid and warm. Thank you!
Beautiful movement, control, and strength. Great song choice as well
Thank you!
You're such a great teacher. Thank you!
Thank you!😊
Superb compression and flexibility 👌👌
I'll take small lats for a handstand like that 😅 👍
😅🤣🤣
Thank you so much. I love this flow
