I’ve got 280k on my Ford 3.5L 6-cyl EcoBoost that’s in my F150. Seems to be a pretty solid engine with a lot of life left.

I once drove an old Datsun Vanette. Yep, before there was Nissan Vanette. That was a 1500cc 4 cylinder petrol engine with over a 1000000 km, yes +1M km.... Synchronisation between 1st and 2nd gears was all gooey but doable with the right "feel". Don't make things more complicated than they need to be and they last a long time.

I also had a 72 Dart slant 6 that got 20 plus but I also had a 73 Challenger V8 318 that I put an aftermarket 4 BBL carb that averaged 20 mpg.😊

You didn’t even mention the Chevy 292. It’s a torque machine. My dad had one in a 68 C-10 pickup that out pulled my uncle’s 350 4 barrel up a hill with heavier weight. I know because I was riding shotgun in that sixty-eight with 4 full sized horses in the trailer and my uncle only had 3 in the other. We walked past him like he was on a tourist cruise. He told us later he had that 350 maxed out. Dad said torque over horsepower anyway. In a drag race that 350 could stomp us. But hill climb that 292 could pull. Just like the ford 300.

When Obama forced people to turn on their older vehicles I towed for the Ford dealer. One of the mechanics told me it took 6 treatments of the junk made to kill the engine's to destroy a 300 6 cylinder Ford engine. The slant 6s are indestructible by Chrysler Did you know that IHC made a slant 4 cylinder engine which was half of a 304.

Owned a 1983 F150 super cab with 4 speed standard with the inline 6 - 300 cubic inch engine. After about a half hour running and temps up that truck could perform. Good mileage as well. Wish I still had that truck. It wanted to go.

Honda 3.0v6 or h22 will outlast most of these if oil is changed and timing belt is serviced. Jeeps 4.0straight 6 will blow these out the water as well.

I don't know if you heard this pickup, Toyota Hilux(Vigo) 2.5L-3.0L...it's my favourite pickup. I live in southeast asia, so mostly this pickup are everywhere. it's rather reliable and powerful but can't compare to american trucks

6.7 is only reliable with deletes. Without deletes, they're boat anchors.
