.14mm (.006 in.) is the same as 5x tippett which breaks at about 4.5 lbs. This Trilene XL is on the weak side.

great video. it seems to be very good line. but in my opinion all lines should include their knot resistance becose almays you have a knot in the line when you are fishing. All fishermen know this is the place where it is easiest for the line to break.

With all due respect. That's not how tests should be conducted. The experiment should be done multiple times to make sure it's fair and square. The results will never be the exact same every time then you calculate the average results for each. Thank you. One offs it's not a scientific way to claim a winner.

That was six turns of the handle when the line broke.

Although it would take more time. I would like to see an average of at least 3 tests on each line you test. But you may not have the time for multiple tests. I do enjoy watching your very informative videos. Thank you.

I'd like to see you test the Leland SOS 2 lb line. I've had pretty good luck with that.

Hi, first off, great videos. lots of great information. thank you for taking the time to test and show results. im wondering if the manufacturers of the lines actually have to test their product in similar tests. I am NOT questioning whether your testing is similar. I am curious if they have a certain set of procedures to come to their "marketed" claims. I am a recreational fisherman. recently I see the "trend" in fisherman being swayed to use braided line and a leader of either mono, flouro or copolymer. is this just a recent gimmick? could you pick a popular knot and come up with a test that tests the knot between leader and braid? Thank you. just thought I would share this idea. I am not trying to add to your workload, and I do appreciate your efforts. this is great information for the fishing world.

only thing i would do different is 1s and last put singles top mid keep the treble as the hook up rate with singles on gt's higher set treble tend to bend hook also you are able to reel faster as trebles cause drag top on should be fine

I have used the knotless snell for over twenty-five years and really like it and still use it in my lower test lines up to 100 lbs. But the loop snell has been the strongest in my applications with 100 lb test and above. It’s not a popular knot/ loop knot. I love it!

Too bad Stren Hi Impact is disappearing. Right now there are very limited colors and line weights.

You should test all those other TH-cam Snell knots to show that these two snell knots are the only 100% snell knots. The easy snell is not 100% and neither is the uni snell knot or any snell that finish by passing the tag end thru a loop.

Have you tested dyneema with crimps?
