    Where did you find that Wilson Mallet? Wilson's website has a picture of their expert breaking in a glove with that same exact mallet but it's not listed for sale. The Wilson glove conditioner and oil, as well as the A2000 repair kit are also not available which makes me think that they are outsourcing for all of these items.

      For both of my 44 gloves I have selected the standard (55-60%) break-in. But I like a softer, more broken in glove.. 44 does not really give you that out of the box. BUT, some or even a lot of people want to mostly break their gloves in themselves, if that is you then, 44 might be the glove for you. Ultimately 44’s will last forever if you treat them the right way. And they are worth the price.

    • @midwatchcoversations5169
      @midwatchcoversations5169 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I would absolutely recommend Nakona’s. The only real downside for them on the custom side is the price. Really expensive, but if you go the custom route and you like soft gloves like I do then I recommend getting the extra break-in service. It will come out of the box basically ready for practice.

    Hey. I've watched a few of your videos and noticed you play mostly softball. However you're gloves are not softball specific. Have you tried any gloves that are made specifically for softball? Keep the videos coming.

    • @midwatchcoversations5169
      @midwatchcoversations5169 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      The reason I go for big baseball gloves more than softball gloves is mostly because there are more options. At least when it comes to customs. But I have used Worths, and Demarinis before. They are also good, but this all started because I wanted a custom, couldn't find reviews that really answered questions I had, and I'm an idiot. So instead of just picking one glove like a normal person would do, I thought I'd get all of the gloves, make videos and hopefully help other people that might be in the same situation I was in.

    Having smaller hands/fingers, that tight thumb hole is one of the draws of the glove for me. I can wedge my thumb further right and it feels fully secure. And when you cheat your thumb more to the right you get less of that pinching. I don't have that same model, but I noticed the pinching as well until I shifted my thumb over just a bit more.

    Hey is that a softball or baseball model. I have a 12.75 44 pro signature model and the pocket sucks!!! It’s so shallow . What model is yours (softball or baseball) and how’s ur pocket ???

    • @midwatchcoversations5169
      @midwatchcoversations5169 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      They are both the baseball models. The 13" model feels like it has a way bigger pocket than the 12.75, but the 13 is an H-Web, and the 12.75 is a mod-trap. For baseball the 12.75 would be great, but for softball it does feel a little small.

    • @boridebrooklyn8300
      @boridebrooklyn8300 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Midwatch Coversations Thanks 🙏🏽, I hear the 574 has a deep pocket as well but that model only comes in a baseball 12.75. Which is ridiculous on 44’s end. Unreal that the only deep pocket softball model is a closed back model.

    How would you compare the 44 pro with an average stock wilson a2000

    • @midwatchcoversations5169
      @midwatchcoversations5169 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      The A2000 will break-in faster and will still last a long time. But the 44 is an absolute tank. So if you are good with a longer break-in process this glove will be a hand down item to your kids. The A2000 is also like twice as expensive as the 44.

  • @boridebrooklyn8300
    @boridebrooklyn8300 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    I think you need to break your gloves in by playing catch, it’s the best way to break them in , mallet is great but catch will break it in the way it’s suppose to. For adults like us , it’s difficult to play catch and break in a glove. I recommend going to a batting cage and just catch from the machine, trust me brother your glove will break in beautifully, 5 to 10 sessions will do it.

    • @midwatchcoversations5169
      @midwatchcoversations5169 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I agree on playing catch as the best way to break in a glove. And if I had batting cages available I would do that. I used to do that in little league when I was a catcher. Go into the fast cage and catch for 15 or 20 mins.

    Being a Sox fan myself, I'm looking forward to seeing him in red (despite him not being Mookie). As for the glove, that's a nice thing. Not a fan personally of that beige-coloured leather but it still looks nice. Your hand should come at least partway out of a modern glove anyway. It means you have more intricate control of the glove and I cringe a little when I see some seemingly ancient and clueless coach on TH-cam videos saying to some teenager that they're wearing their glove wrong and closing it the wrong way. How would you say Easton leather compares to an off-the-shelf Heart of the Hide?

    • @midwatchcoversations5169
      @midwatchcoversations5169 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I know that the likely the better and/or taught way to have the glove on your hand is less on your palm, its totally just a feel thing for me. Also i'm not making money off playing ball for a living, i'd probably force myself to a better techincal glove fit if that were the case. And yes, it'll be tough to pick up where Mookie is leaving, I think in the field he can fit in really well but behind the plate there aren't that many available to fill the gap. Thanks for watching!

    Interesting take on the A2K comparison to the A2000. Is your A2000 YP66 a custom? Also, you stated that the Wilson custom builder doesn't make gloves above 12.75", but they do have softball specific A2000 gloves that are 13" - 13.5" (just not A2Ks at the moment). I do agree with you on that I hate that you don't have a choice of webs for the gloves. Great videos. Keep em comin!

      The 44's took somewhere in the neighborhood of 6 to 8 weeks to ship. I'm pretty sure they are built/ship faster after ordered than Wilsons or Rawlings. However, with all the COVID stuff happening right now they are saying on the website that you should expect to add an extra 2 weeks because of reduced staff. But worth it!
