1.2L 3 cylinders, I pass.
There is no trip summary of efficiency as it reser every 50km. Sonthis needs to be calculated manually after with starting the trip with 100% and recharge after to 100% again.
That car is far from efficient. Driving in winter conditions with winter tires it averages 220 Wh/km compared to a model Y with the same tires 158...insane how a low sedan average worse than a suv with broader tires.
Electrobays had the same charging problem with his test seal, it needed a software update to solve that issue.
Are you sure the seal has 800v architecture? In many other videos I've seen people saying its 400v.
@@Ilanuil apparently it’s only a 620V battery pack but in the press release that we informed us from it claimed a 800V architecture.
Slower 0 to 60 than my almost 2 ton Nissan x trail e power, nice colour though.
DNA: Dynamic , Natural and Advanced efficiency.
I drive the awd daily my range is awfull😂
😅 what kind of range do you get ?
Same, efficiency of the motors are very bad on this car. All of the systems are bad on this car but hey it looks good
Really liked the test, thank you.
Thanks for the kind words! Hope to see you in future videos
Today's Chinese build quality.
Was it a 400 och 800V DC charger? The Seal isn't a true 800V architecture so it only get 150kW on a 800V charger as internally it's 620V on the battery pack. It also rapid gate at 52 C degree on the batttery and then dumps the chargingspeed to half. good to know. I'm a seal owner and the carging isn't really good for a "800V" system.
They were all 800V DC chargers. Thanks for the info, you learn something every day!
Hi, purely on electricity, what is the maximum speed you can be sure of?
Hi, Who said hard plastic is bad? This is not a cuddly teddy bear
I've had exactly this car with no such charge issues. Maybe you need to get the dealer to look at it?
Great but those ERAD problems are getting out of hand unfortunately. The design of those things are just so flawed, I hope they fix it in the future versions. I wouldn't buy used without hefty warranty deal.
Can you provide boot dimensions in next review…..
@@grahamkelly1608 sure 👍 will provide them in future videos in the description. Thanks for the suggestion
where is 00:02?

If it were only 300kg lighter it would be unbelievable. Tesla knows how to build lighter, not light, but lighter, cars. Not a Tesla fan boy, but ill give them that. Great review, awesome car! May be biased but i find the set up of the Seal much easier and much less to faff about with. Get a consistent 3.7s 0-100km with GPS timing gear. So is it worth $45k AUD more for 2-3 tenths of a second? Not to me. Granted the Hyundai has some better ADAS and autonomous driving, but still not worth that price of 50% more.
Fantastic looking car but the engine choices are woeful.
My Ibiza SE Tech has just arrived in the UK picking it up next week. I was going to get a FR/ Anniversary but as a driving instructor I didnt see a huge benefit in the alloys and extra power. My regular car is a Leon FR and I love it!
Very true, in my opinion a perfect teaching car 👍 have fun with it!
@@NonstopDrivingReviews Thanks I cant wait to get rid of the Fiesta ive been using for work for the last 3 years!
Good idea to make a video of you consistently breaking the speed limit!
Because I was sometimes going 4 km/h over the speed limit claimed by my tachometer? Theoretically I was only going 1 km/h over the speed limit as there is a 3 km/h difference tolerant.... but okay :) (truly living in the fast lane)
@@NonstopDrivingReviews The German pressure of the role following.. :-)
If anyone watching this video owns a BYD SEAL, I would be really interested to know if you've come across any of the charging issues that I pointed out in the video.
No charging issues on our '23 Seal Performance AWD. Has the most recent software in Oz, 1.2.1. Charging reaches 157kw max on super fast chargers, those 200kw and higher. Only one problem in 20k kms; the AC system would not respond to any changes, couldn't turn it off, couldn't lower fan speed et cetera. Happened for 4 days and resolved itself the day we were to bring in for service. Video on my page. One other person stated they had the same problem so it's def not a one off. Other than that no issues whatsoever. Also the Seal does have 800V architecture but limits charging to 150kw. The new Sealion 7 (the Seal SUV) goes up to I believe 200kw on the same platform.
Thanks for sharing your experience! The AC issue sounds frustrating and funny to hear that it solved itself (did you hit it a little to maybe get it to work again :) The Sealion 7 sounds exciting, especially with its higher charging cap. It’ll be interesting to see how they tweak the platform for SUVs. Have you considered changing the car or are you happy with it ?
@@NonstopDrivingReviewsBelieve it or not, we came from a '21 G20 BMW M340i, and traded it for the Seal. Step down right? It's been amazing for the price. Just couldn't beat it at its price. It's so roomy inside, quiet, fast, easy to live with, and mostly reliable (hasn't stranded us in any way). Yes it takes a bit more planning for road trips, but it's tolerable. If this is BYDs first effort in Australia, and being such a new company, I can't wait to see what's next. Their Yang Wang range is amazing if it comes to our shores. If I can get an SUV that is better than a Range Rover, more reliable, and a quarter the price, id do it. I would have paid $100k AUD for the Seal, even a bit more. Build quality is excellent😮 This coming from a German manufactured vehicle owner since I was 15, over 30 years ago. Nothing I thought could beat BMW, but while driving dynamics are not BMW level, they aren't far off. It drives like the newest C class, but larger and more comfortable. All in all, id absolutely buy another. Would be nice if it were 400kg lighter and let's say an even 400kw, then we'd be talking world class.
Falsch, 400 Volt Technologie mit einem ladebooster, erst der neue sea Lion hat eine 800 Volt Technologie @@Audios81
@@Audios81 isn't the latest version for a few weeks now 1.3.1?
Funny all these silly derogatory and utterly outdated comments about 3 cilinder engines.... These engines are fine nowadays!! Did you guys know that the way more expensive BMW X1 30e also has a 3 cilinder engine??
The only wrong assumption in your video was that cats have 7 lives, the rest was spot on!
Thank you so much 😊 maybe we just don’t know that cats have 7 lives 👀 have we tried it out :). A sub would be really appreciated
This vehicle is absolutely phenomenal. I am in my latest years and it’s functional attributes, comfort and silent running cannot be over ever sized. Well done KIA
Nice
We need a park in a European multistorey car park test! Nice car, but just too big for Europe.
Much appreciated! Should have thought about that... sorry about that but thanks for the suggestion
Just a suggestion, viele danke😊@@NonstopDrivingReviews
I will literally NEVER buy a car with the speed warning beeps. What year did that start?
It is crazy how much piano black there is for $120k plus
Yeah, personally also not a fan of that.
Very odd that the Esprit Alpine version doesn't come with most of the extras in Germany. It pretty much has everything except for a spare wheel in the UK. 🤔
Thanks for sharing! Don't know exactly why that is the case in Germany. What is the price for the variant in the UK?
@NonstopDrivingReviews Starting from £28,095 in the default colour.
You should slow down a little. I cannot understand if you can lower the rear sests or not, and if there are heated seats or not
Thanks for the feedback! Will try my best in the future. The car does offer the rear seats to be flipped down or what do you exactly mean by lowering them? You don't get the option to get heated seats if you get the bucket seats otherwise you can
At 12:21 the car starts beeping because your eyes were not on the road, did you not deactivate the warning sounds at the beginning on the steering wheel?
I only turned off the EU-Warner (1 Km/h over the speed limit). You can turn the other functions of via the infotainment display
@NonstopDrivingReviews so each time you have to get in to the indotainment sysytem to turn off the other beeping sound that monitors your eye or you can also dedicate a button on the steering wheel with 3 seconds push to turn all warning sound off?
This tells me that for normal everyday driving (30, 50, 70, 90 km/h) you get decent enough range ? Perhaps something like 450km ?
Keep up with the good work 😂
Excellent review really enjoyed it very informative. By the way your a dead ringer for Bernado Silva 😊
Thanks 😅, would be nice to also have his talent and net worth… apparently I also look like a young Paul McCartney
You're doing a fantastic job! I have a quick question: My OKX wallet holds some USDT, and I have the seed phrase. (alarm fetch churn bridge exercise tape speak race clerk couch crater letter). What's the best way to send them to Binance?
Nice
Thanks
I never thought I'd say this about Audi... but it's the best-looking car in its class. Oh, and I usually LOVE white cars... but for this one, almost every other color they offer looks cooler, imo. I want RS Q8 really bad... but I'm not about to pay 3K/mo for a car :D maaaaybe SQ8 might be worth it, since people might want to buy used when there are no more brand new V8's.
The question I have is is: can the Inverse Square Law predict the range for the other speeds, and be a useful thing to use to estimate your range at various speeds? (For those saying "Inverse What?": the car's a 3D object, but it needs to push air out of the way of its front at speed and that front of the car is the equivalent of a 2D face pushing into the air. The theory is that a car going twice as fast as [base number] km/h will need four times the energy, 2², and three times the speed will need nine times the energy, 3². From that you can work out fractions of the differences. 150% of the base speed is 1½², so the energy to push the air aside is 2¼ times the base amount. If the base speed is 100km/h, then 120km/h should need 144% of the energy to go the same distance that was achieved at 100km/h and should only go around 69.44% of the distance on the same battery (and the reverse is true too - if the base speed is 120, then a run of 100 would use 69.44% of the 120's energy and would go 1.44 times the distance). 140km/h would need 196% of the energy that 100km/h needed to go the same distance and so should only go 51.02% of the distance that 100km/h was capable of with that charge.) Science class over. I'll put what the predicted ranges should be once I get to the part of the video with the 100km/h range, then type in the actual range achieved, and how much my prediction was off. The time stamp for the results is 8:49 - time to plug in the predictions and the actual numbers. 100km/h = 744km range. 120km/h = predicted 69.44% of the above is 516.63km, real world range is 519km, prediction is 99.54% accurate and you go further than the prediction. 140km/h = predicted 51.02% of 100km/h is 379.59km, real world range is 405km, prediction is 93.72% accurate and you go further than the prediction. There would be other variables in play (friction of the rubber on the road, efficiency of the electric motor at various speeds, etc.) but it works out. Using the Inverse Square of one speed to predict range at other higher speeds is a very handy ballpark way to guess how far you could go at higher speeds, and gives you a small buffer of reserve energy.
Yeah, lets just ignore mechanical and heat losses then...
@@wizzyno1566 "The question I have is is: can the Inverse Square Law predict the range for the other speeds, and be a useful thing to use to estimate your range at various speeds?" Predict. Estimate. "There would be other variables in play (friction of the rubber on the road, efficiency of the electric motor at various speeds, etc.)" Friction (as in heat). Efficiency of the motors (as in mechanical). I mean it was right there, flower!
Great video brother! Keep going! The growth will come, your content and presentation skills are top tier
Thanks so much for the kind words! Means a lot. Already seen some nice growth over the past couple of months. With support like that, the sky is the limit
Nice car
Sure is a nice one, only if I could afford one 😅
Sorry for my voice, was a bit sick when filming this and therefore also not the most amount of energy :)
No problem
What is the explanation to why is the dark horse slower than the gt? I was leaning towards the gt to be honest with the nite pony package cause I dont like the dark horse mascara but the extra horsepower was the biggest pro for the dh. After what you said if it's true, gt is gonna be the choise
Sorry for the confusion. The Darkhorse is quicker if you get the automatic version, then it will be 4.4 seconds and therefore .5 quicker then the GT. I had my information written down wrong, basically the manual Darkhorse is slower than the automatic GT. GT: 4.9 Manual: 5.3 Darkhorse: 4.4 Manual: 5.2
Which color is this?
That would be Daytona Grey
Is the automatic gearbox on par with Volkswagen’s dq 200?
They both have a different setup, for instance Dacia focus more on efficiency and comfort while dq200 has faster shifts and a little bit more sporty feeling. Both are dry clutches and therefore require a little bit more care. Hope that helps a little
@ it does.
is the captur any good i had kajar and within 2 years i had to get gearbox fixed and engine leak fixed i have ordered a captur but worried ive made a big mistake
I find it hard to decide between this Suzuki Swift and the new Kia Picanto GT-line model.
Hard choice, depends on what you like more from a design perspective. I did not have the chance to drive the picanto with the cvt, but I do have a video on the channel with the manual and a gt-line if your interested in that. I think they are both decent cars for the price segment and offer a lot.
@NonstopDrivingReviews thanks for your answer.Yes I saw your interesting and comprehensive review of the Kia Picanto.I prefer the exterior design of the new Picanto but I find its interior very dull.I'd like to know which one is better in terms of driving feelings, sensations while driving, acoustics and noise reduction....
You are talking to fast and too much😁
Thanks for the comment and feedback! Will improve on it in the future
