Ringu Tulku Rinpoche, Buddhist Master: ‘I’m just a normal human being’
Have you ever wondered how one becomes a monk? What would it be like to live your life, traveling around the world to help others improve their minds and lives?
Our host Ela Crain seeks the answer from a Tibetan Buddhist Master, Ringu Tulku Rinpoche.
Ringu Tulku Rinpoche was born in Tibet. He is trained in all schools of Tibetan Buddhism. And since 1990 he has been traveling and teaching Buddhism and meditation all over the world. He also founded Bodhicharya, an international organization that preserves Buddhist teachings.
Also for the first time in 25 years, Ringu Tulku Rinpoche talks about his personal journey chronologically and in great detail: fleeing Tibet, arriving in India, settling in Sikkim, his first visit to the West, and his ongoing role as a teacher and a monk.

If there is any religion that would cope with modern scientific needs, it would be Buddhism Albert Einstein
I just finished playing Ghost of Tsushima and there's this side thing called haiku where you meditate and write poems based on your characters reflection of certain things such as loss, perseverence and many many manyyy other things. There is also a form of sutra playing in the background and it was an experience in which I really enjoyed.
Thanks I’ve been meditating for 7 years and a half and it stills bewilders me It’s really a gateway to the universe :)
We need more studies on meditation and yoga
Narcassits: we have so many devil ideas to destroy good God: invents meditation with a smile
Thank you on your meditative example...deatra
Sidenote: the tech with the shaved head and ponytail is SO stoked to scan the monk
This guy just described hemi sync
you r researching the computer, software, but not the current. current is the soul you cant research the soul with ur machines its beyond the science.
Samba is a roasted barley flour that is a main ingredient in the Tibetan dish pa. Pa is made with samba, butter, sugar, and black tea. Tsampa is a staple Tibetan food made from roasted flour, usually barley, but can also be made from wheat or tree peony seeds. It's often mixed with butter tea, salt, and sometimes Tibetan cheese to make pa. Tsampa is also eaten in Mongolia and Turkestan, where it's known as zamba.

That haircut is crazzyyyyy 1:26
the part where the monk gets up is cute lol
Meditation is no so perfect. Have you seen a documentary called The other effects of Meditation? It has a lot of information about the negative effects of meditation. th-cam.com/video/gYiemaTVIc4/w-d-xo.html
Very educative. I love your videos. Please allow me to interrupt. I do research on how Buddhism disappeared in Bihar. I realized it never disappeared from Bihar. Buddhists simply failed to research Indian Buddhism. They looked at Buddhism through the sphere of their own cultures searching for only the Buddha. Buddha had a myriad of names in different villages according to his teachings there. Example. His favorite teaching was 'Lust and desire causes pain. Remove lust and desire, and pain is removed'. Translated into Bihari (where the Buddha story took place) it is DHUKH HARAN meaning to remove dukha. Three dozen villages pray to DUKH HARAN Baba. Its clear that DUKH HARAN Baba is none other than the Buddha. Problem is Buddhists are searching only for the Buddha. In the real Vaishali the Buddha begged for alms. The locals there pray to 'BHIKHAINI' Baba (Beggar Baba). Bhikhaini was mispronounced by Buddhists as Bhikshu. Who is BHIKHAINI Baba. The Buddha no doubt. But people are searching for a man called Buddha. In the real Vaishali, in Beluha the Buddha suffered a sickness and felt he had grown old. The locals pray to 'BURHA' Baba (Old Baba). Who is BURHA Baba. The Buddha no doubt. In the real Vaishali the Lichavies pressurized Buddha not to die. They trailed him to Bandagawan pressurizing him not to die. To put pressure in Hindi is DABESHWAR. Three dozen villages around the stupa where Buddha gave the Lichavies his patra, the villagers pray to Baba 'DABESHWAR NATH' meaning the man who won the pressurizing game. It was the the Buddha no doubt as he gave the Lichavies his patra and succeded in sending them back. But Buddhists are searching for the Buddha. Forgive me for commenting out of the topic. I just wanted to impart this information to you.
Mi piacerebbe sapere se avete misurato cosa succede nel cervello nei casi quando durante la Meditazione si ascolta la Musica Interiore ( NON fisica, NON terrena ) ? Se EEG registra l'esperienza ? Grazie 🙏
I found the viddo
Thank you
Brain without mind is just an organ.
and doctor also should go to a doctor, i think...
stupid study -meditation is but one small part of monastic life and philosophy just impossible to control for all confounding elements and none of it is generalisable to the general public.
Well done guys! Beautiful setting with beautiful scenes; a meaningful and inspiring work. But be careful though; meditation is not the universal panacea that will solve all your problems and discomforts of your life. Try it with an open and innocent mind, free from expectations and unrealistic hopes. Better start when you are reasonably well and comfortable and then, keep trying again and again without holding scores. And never blame yourself for failing for there is no winner or loser in the game.
Nice haircut. "Whatever I can get for 5 dollars"
50:50 one of the kids opened his eye and then his monkey mind Got distracted by the camera😂!
Precious guru 🙏🙏🙏
I want Meditation For this What i to do?😢
It's explained in detail in the full documentary here: th-cam.com/video/HBX92PT3264/w-d-xo.html
Very insulting to monkeys… this documentary…used the words “monkey minds” too many times
The researcher's hair looks exactly like the wires of his device.
Wow so it had such an impact that he needed to get a CT scan don't do meditation boys
Hey, is this dude Ross's father?
Lost me at ponytail guy. Totally killed my metarection
Great meditators know they dont need to close eyes to meditate You can actually meditate without controlling your breathe Remeber when u were in a class in a boring lecture and u werent paying attetion u werent consious about the sensory input u were getting ( like hearing what the lecturer was saying and visual input also your eyes where open but u didnt see anything) believe it or not this is highest form of meditation this is state of pure bliss
I don't want to meditate because I think it will make me look stupid
DURING MEDITATION . I MANY TIMES NOTICED OR FEELS TO BE THAT MY BRAIN SIZE INCREASING VERY GENETLY 😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮
I highly recommend the classic chinese novel 'Journey to the west' for a prolonged use of the metaphor 'Monkey of the mind, Horse of the will' Im not sure how useful its is for meditators but it is a fun and at times beautiful, profound story.
Their brains are the intellectual equivalent of the biggest most amazing looking body builder who sacrificed hours days years of their lives training just to get this result
Not just one result, there are great benefits to many aspects of one's life if you meditate.
If we could see these people's minds and the lives they lived they would have lived essentially the same lives as an Arnold Schwarzenegger or the craziest power lifter you've ever met because they're doing things with incredible discipline but it's just of their mind it's just a workout of the mind to an unbelievable degree
The problem here is that there is no real correlation of what they find with any real changes in behavior in activity. Any experience changes the brain, But what sustainable changes are being realized in activity?
Thank you for sharing your story
It’s unprofessional to have tattoos but dudes allowed to show up to work with his hair like that 😅
People finding it difficult to meditate can start with mantra meditation using a japa mala. If you have any iskcon temple nearby you can visit they will help you
wtf is with his hair 💀💀
This video is literally the reason I am a Buddhist. I saw the whole documentary ("Happy!") in my darkest time, and I knew this was my answer to alleviate my suffering.
That guy missed a spot
You explain it better than everyone👍
I have ine question what you think When you meditate? I mean whenever i try or start doing meditation i cant focus all time in my mind comes different thoughts, sometimes movie scene or song
It's explained in the full documentary here: th-cam.com/video/HBX92PT3264/w-d-xo.html. You don't need to fight to suppress your thoughts.
He looked like he had a powdered wig on for a second
Well that destroy ego of being something or someone when we say I am normal human being.
