Gundam Evolution Deserves to Be Remembered
Gundam Evolution was a fantastic game despite it being far from perfect. It's a shame that it's gone as it makes it much harder to talk about, but G.EVO perfectly encapsulates the kinds of games I find most fascinating: broken, fun and genuinely inventive.

I didn’t do any research prior to writing my script as I intended the video to be more personal/opinion based. After stumbling onto this article during the editing process though I did feel a little validated in some of those baseless claims I made. Editing this was a very humbling process in realizing how much work can actually go into making a video, even when the scope of the original idea was very basic in concept.
I look forward to seeing what you guys have to say about this and Gundam Evolution. Also I genuinely wouldn’t mind any anime or game recommendations; getting into this franchise seems quite difficult without knowing where to start. I’ve only dipped my toes outside of the UC Timeline and so far it’s been pretty rough, but maybe you guys know better than I do. So far the 3 Mobile Suit Gundam movies are the clear winners. The later stuff seems to struggle with their justification for having Shonen age characters fighting in these insanely brutal conflicts.

Too Long; Didn't Watch: I've hit a few delays but I'm working on two new videos. I'm going to be trying out different kinds of videos, and I'm also looking to monetize this channel in the near future. Sorry for the long absence once again. I never plan these things, but this last year was very busy for me. Not bad by any means, just busy. I'm going to prioritize uploading videos to this channel...

Sorry this took so long to upload. You wouldn’t believe the odyssey I went on trying to get this video made and uploaded. Here’s hoping it doesn’t get flagged for some reason. [This video contains major spoilers for FF8/FFVIII throughout, light spoilers for FF10 and FF12] A deep dive/essay on why FFVIII is my favourite of the mainline Final Fantasy franchise. Hopefully by the end I can convi...

    Ive replayed ff7 Ff8 and ff9, the last months. Boys. 8 is by far the best GAME! 7 has by far the best Story. And 9 is Ass. Sorry to tell you this. But 9 is so overhyped. Final fantasy 8 is so good, the junction system, once mastered, is by far the best system. I dont know Till today why hardcore Fans dont like 8. I really dont understand it. 9 is for Kids. The Story is bäh the System is so Tight, you cant afford your own style. Seven is King. All together the best of it all.

    Regarding the Rinoa ais Ultimecia theory and the creator saying it's not Rinoa. I still think the HUMAN component of Ultimicia is Rinoa. She is the "final" host of the sentient sorceress power where everything comes together. I remember there being a seemingly inconsequential little book or magazine in the game you can read that talks about the origins of the sorceress powers and how they came from some guy or god figure called Hyne long ago in the past. After humans rebelled against Hyne, his power ended up broken up and "hidden" in the bodies of certain women. There's more to it, but I think the power itself, is the self-aware remnants of Hyne. Future Rinoa is the host where it all at last, comes together or is still attempting to. The thing that made me start thinking this in particular is that Ultimicia re-introduces herself in her final form in the final battle. What's that dangling as her lower half? An unconscious body which she draws Apocalypse from during the fight. (which Rinoa suspiciously has in other games) Perhaps the entity itself emerging from the defeated body. Mixing this with the other theories mentioned in this video I think still checks out, since some sorceresses seem to loose control over themselves and change as a result. The GF theory altering memories on top of that. So, I've come to kinda think it IS and ISNT at the same time in a weird way.

    When I do the junctioning, I absolutely use the draw system- mostly because I hate using consumables unless I have to (even to gain spells)- but I junction and use spells regardless. I draw enough spells so that every party member has 100 of every spell, so if I use a spell that is equipped, I pull extras from the characters that I'm not currently using. It's tedious, but I am not restricting my battle options either.

    The game of FFVIII was the first game I ever had of the series. Only vaguely heard of 7 at the time. I remember going to a Sam’s Club and seeing it on the shelf that was packaged with a tips guide in a combo. My dad bought it for me. I played the game for years there after because of the fact that Squall seemed to resonate with my character at the time. (We were around the same age.) I slowly began to see the benefits of each character and how to use them. And yes… I also did not use magic unless absolutely necessary. But I remember many memories of this title and how I grew up with a fondness of it. A series and game I only barely heard of, and blindly fell into. I like FF7, but FF8 will also be the one I prefer simply because of the history of having this title and getting everything that the game has to offer. Thank you for sharing this wonderful title and the breakdown thereof.

    I completely disagree with the statement "FFXIV has the best gathering and crafting in any mmorpg" ~something along that line. As someone who has played many mmo, I will say Black desert online has by far the best life skills in the game, which includes variety of things u can gather for different things. The life skills it includes: Cooking, Alchemy, horse training, fishing, sailing, barter, Trading, processing (probably 1 or 2 more) ik ik it isn't about quantity, cuz if it was about quantity of life skills then i would have said ruinscape is the best gathering/crafting game out there. Black desert online has extremely good life skills. What am i trying to say here? Simple, no mmorpg is perfect, I have played many and many mmorpg and overall i have enjoyed almost all of them in their own way. the point is each mmorpg game has flows and so u better have played many mmorpg out there to claim that "FFXIV has the best gathering and crafting in any mmo" Here is example of what i think each mmo does the best: Black desert online - combat & life skill FFXIV - Been enjoying playing through slow and relaxing combat and story (can put me to sleep sometimes lol), ofc i have heard the raids are fun, i also like how committed FFXIV community is, i mean damn have u seen the crazy mods they have made. (respect) Gw2 - I love the NPC group of friends i made along the story of the game, their unique voice line and attitude (something FFXIV lacks, text can't show everything). Gw2 also does great job at encouraging exploration and making u feel like an adventure as u don't mindless stick to main quests and some silly side quest along the way. It also has great open world events. and is not gear focused game, u can be sticking to a gear from expansion 1 and can easily still use that same gear in expansion 3++++. Lost Ark - Had fun time levelling up, the story and the play through never felt repetitive, unlike in FFXIV where i sometimes fall a sleep, with Lost Ark this was never the case it was fun levelling. I got super bored when I reached the main part of the game which was grinding and grinding and grinding (dungeon stuff raid stuff stuff), game started to feel repetitive although that is kinda my fault as there are still some content that i did not fully explore in it. honestly i can go on and talk about new world and eve online and ruinscape and blah blah blah, but ya i am not biased to any mmorpg, and i have not quit any of them either. I will always come back to them eventually. No, mmorpg is not the only genera i play xD i play all sorts of game (am also a game developer so ya I have huge passion for games in general and respect each genre in its own way)

    • @LittleArsi69
      @LittleArsi69 19 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@Grimmm233 Let me explain Combat gear: Yes it is mostly p2w. HOWEVER, the game has one of the popular and skill base game mode arena, which is designed for 3v3 and has gear level capped, making it 0% p2w. It also has different tier level of guild vs guild pvp or node vs node pvp (which are the core pvp game modes). These tier level also have different level of gear cap and so it does not matter what gear level you are, you will always get to play most of the pvp without worrying about p2w stuff. Life skills gear: For life skills there are things you can buy with money to make life skills easier, however, you will still have to put in the hours just like a none p2w player, there are only minor differences, plus what's the point of life skill if u could just p2w it lol. which is why the game is designed in a way to only make things easier for p2w players. Tbh life skills doesn't really have p2w as there is no point getting life skills gear if u not even gonna do any life skills, you also will still have to grind levels for each skill, just like a normal player. So the only real p2w here is the combat gear, that is all. Also unlike genshin impact BDO gives out a lot of free stuff, i have way too many things in a game that p2w player would have and i didn't even spent money to get them, just got them for free. I started BDO for its combat and pvp, I now play it for life skills.

    • @LittleArsi69

    Over 100+ hours of MSQ just to unlock the level 50 jobs. being a minimum of 10 levels above the quests your doing the entire time. No challenge whatsoever in the game until 200-300 hours in. You can't do dungeons until you unlock them through the MSQ (main story quests), so all your dungeons will consistently be 10 levels behind you, which means you scale down, and can't use any abilities you learned in the last 10 levels. up to level 50 you will barely have any skills, you will be reliant on the same combo to do dps, and most of those abilities will be restricted when you need them due to the downscaling for group content. None of the MSQ instanced parts can be done anyway other than solo(with the exception of unlocking a dungeon or trial). In other words, playing with your friends is limited. So before you hit the first expansion, and unlock the level 50 jobs. 160-161 MSQ, then an additional 80+ quests, and a handful of other activities to unlock the level 50 city...at level 65-70... It's not a video game, it's a book that demands an insane time investment prior to any enjoyment being had if you have absolutely any desire of even experiencing the end-game. Mechanically it's good, UI, and game play are smooth. Graphically it's decent. This should be a mandatory statement before you buy, or invest any time into the game. I got to level 40 and was just like "When the fuck can I get on, and get to this Dark Knight? When can my wife get Astrologian?" We quit as soon as we seen the daunting amount of work involved in something that's supposed to be fun. being level 40 and on MSQ's that are level 28, and still outpacing them in level... There's no freedom, it's a strictly linear progression that force feeds you the story for insane lengths of time. it's like someone took one of the Korean MMO's from the early 2000's (Kal online, or SRO) and was just like "Hey, what if instead of killing the same monster for 100's of hours, how about we create a walking simulator that conveys a story that may not appeal to people, and force them to do that mindlessly instead." Plenty of people like this game, that's fine. This isn't a trashing of the game. It's well designed for a very specific person. I just want this to be a warning to ANYONE else that thinks about playing.
