A Very Imposing Castle at the Top of a Hill - ALANYA Castle, Turkey
A tourist noticed these ancient walls all over the mountainside while relaxing on the beach. Impressive fortifications and a well preserved castle. The challenge is to get there. The best way to explore this Turkish castle is to simply walk up there like this brave man did. These fortifications are HUGE and the view from the castle itself is stunning. This is a very imposing castle on top of a hill. Alanya castle was built during the 13th century and has seen very little action so it is a well preserved castle on the Turkish riviera.

This sinister ghost town in Turkey could easily be one of the most fascinating of its kind in the entire world, but most who visit know hardly anything about its dark history or seem to care. The abandoned town has been deserted for more than one hundred years. Not a single soul was allowed to stay. A completely deserted town. Join me on a small exploration of this gem of a ghost town. Amazing. Modern military has years of behind the scenes development for arms and supplies; but they can almost fight a war and be home for lunch. Yet the people of old had to develop their fortifications in the open under threat of attack at any time. Life moved slower back then. In 1365, King Casimir III the Great (the first Polish ruler) stayed at Malbork Castle for three days. He was received by Grand Master Winrych von Kniprode. In the years 1466-1772, Malbork was a royal city of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth located in the province of Royal Prussia. The city authorities were headed by a local government consisting of councillors and a mayor elected by them. The city was subject to the authority of the Malbork starost, as the direct representative of the king, who annually approved the election to the city council through his representative (the burgrave or the voivode of Malbork). In administrative terms, Malbork was incorporated into the Malbork Voivodeship, from which it took only its name, but the city was never its capital[11][12]. Malbork Castle was the residence of the Polish kings used during their stays in Prussia and on their way to Gdańsk[13]. Malbork Castle de jure became royal property on the basis of the act of incorporation of Prussia into the Crown of the Kingdom of Poland (March 6, 1454). It was initially managed by the Malbork starosts and their subordinate officials (the mayor, burgrave, Malbork treasurer)[14], and from the beginning of the 16th century jointly by the starost and the administrator of the Malbork Castle estates, appointed by the king, stretching over the Great and Small Malbork Żuławy[15]. In 1591, these estates were transformed into the Malbork ekonomia, which was part of the complex of the king's table estates, managed by an official called the Malbork ekonomia. From 1506 to 1626, Malbork Castle was also the seat of the treasurers of the Prussian lands, an office that evolved from the office of the Malbork treasurer. In the Polish period, Malbork was the place of meetings first of the Prussian estates, and from 1526 (alternately with Grudziądz) of the general assembly of Royal Prussia. Sessions were usually held in the town hall and in the parish church of St. John the Baptist[16]. In terms of ecclesiastical affiliation, Malbork belonged to the Pomesanian diocese, which in the 16th century, as a result of the Reformation and the disintegration of Prussia into Royal (Polish) and Ducal Prussia, was also divided into Catholic and Protestant parts. In the 16th century, the Catholic part was subordinated to the administration of the Chełmno bishops, who were represented by Pomesanian officials residing in Malbork from 1601. In the 16th century, as a result of the progress of the Reformation, most of the Malbork burghers and residents of Żuławy Malborskie converted to Lutheranism. The Lutherans of Malbork and Żuławy received the privilege of freely professing Lutheranism at the Lublin Sejm in 1569[17]. Nevertheless, during the reign of Sigismund III Vasa, during the post-Tridentine Counter-Reformation, Jesuits were brought to Malbork (1618-1780), whose task was to peacefully recatholicize the local non-Christian population. It included the most numerous Lutherans, as well as Mennonites (mainly in Żuławy), Calvinists, and even a few Orthodox Christians, Jews, and Muslims[18][19].

Interwar period (1920-1939) edit After World War I, as a result of the provisions of the Treaty of Versailles, Toruń was granted to the reborn Poland. On January 18, 1920, German troops left Toruń. The city, a concentration of numerous Polish social and scientific organizations, with 37,356 inhabitants in 1921, became the capital of the Pomeranian Voivodeship and began to regain its former, pre-partition position. A new period of significant development of the city began. Many public buildings and modern roads were built, and a long-term spatial development plan was created. Five countries opened their consulates, including Germany - the General Consulate covering three voivodeships. In 1928, a modern exhibition hall was opened. In 1929, Bernard Marwiński founded the only film studio in the region in the Victoria Hall. The Pomeranian Polish Radio Station in Toruń was launched, the second most powerful in the country after Warsaw. In 1933, the second bridge over the Vistula was opened. In 1939, Toruń's population was around 80,000, including the German, Jewish, Russian and Ukrainian minority communities visible in the city's life[10]. Science and culture also developed. In addition to Polish institutions that had their origins in the times of partition, a new cultural and scientific environment began to emerge, in which, among others, the immigrant intelligentsia, mainly from the former Galicia, found a place. Many creators and artists took up work and settled in Toruń. In 1920, the Artists' Confraternity was established, in 1921 the Pomeranian Music Society, in 1923 the Municipal Library, which was the largest library in Pomerania and one of the largest in Poland, in 1925 the Baltic Institute was established, in 1935 the Pomeranian Polish Radio Broadcasting Station (currently the Polish Radio of Pomerania and Kujawy) was established. In 1938, the decision was made to establish a university in Toruń in 1940, as a branch of Adam Mickiewicz University.

Within the borders of the Republic of Poland (1454-1793) edit Separate articles: Siege of Toruń (1658) and Siege of Toruń (1703). The 16th and first half of the 17th centuries were a time of rapid development for Toruń. The city grew rich on trade on the Vistula (mainly the floating of grain and timber), the salt and salted goods warehouse, and the large annual international fairs established by the privilege of Casimir IV Jagiellon in 1472. It made huge profits from its 360 km² patrimony. The town hall was expanded, Gothic tenement houses were rebuilt in the spirit of the Renaissance and Dutch Mannerism, patrician families became wealthy, over 50 craft guilds operated, associating over 700 masters, and outstanding artistic works were created, including: famous Toruń goldsmith, woodcarving, intarsia and other products. On 19th February 1473, Nicolaus Copernicus was born on St. Anny Street. In 1500, the largest bell in Poland at that time, Tuba Dei, was hung on the tower of St. John's Church, and the second, after the Kraków one, and the longest wooden bridge in Poland over the Vistula was opened. In 1501, King Jan Olbracht died in the Royal Hall of the Old Town Hall. On 15th June 1528, the royal mint was opened in the city, on Mostowa Street, replacing the previous mints: the Teutonic and the city mints. In the first half of the 16th century, the Reformation spread in Toruń, which was joined by a significant part of the townspeople. In 1557, Toruń officially became a Lutheran city. In 1568, the Academic Gymnasium was opened, and in 1594, it was ceremonially raised to the rank of a semi-higher school (one of the first in the country). Soon, the first Museum in northern Poland was established. In the first half of the 17th century, Toruń, as one of the few largest cities in the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth, was inhabited by approximately 18,000 people. Due to its independence, which it owed to royal privileges and economic position, Toruń and its patrimony - despite being located in the Chełmno Voivodeship and being its largest city - were excluded from the administration of the voivodeship, constituting an autonomous, self-governing unit.

This is not a true, historical reconstruction of the destroyed city. Only the street layout and churches have been preserved. The architecture of the tenement houses is a modern, loose variation of what once was there.

I suggest you see the small town of Głogów. A rich commune - a copper mine

Poland is not a whorehouse. If you want to use a whorehouse then actually go to Moscow - there they have a special street where you can meet daughters of rich oligarchs and russian state officials. For them, it's all about money, so it's easy to pick them up from the Americans.
