Im glad I found your channel. Foss lake is my nearest lake but I never knew how to fish it from a boat. I recently got a fishing kayak so I’ve been trying to figure out how to get a big hybrid from my small boat and I think I’ll be able to make it happen now thanks to you and your boys.
You get them grampa we love watching y’all videos we are always waiting for a new video to come out taking Dad and the kids are awesome I wished more people done the same
use to catch whites by the hundred i Beaver lake in Ark. would feed the local nursing home and older folks in town with the fillets after we deboned and cut the red meat out ,,,,,,,,,did it for several years until i got to stoved up to fish ,,no we by Talopya at Wal mart when we want fish..........
That answers my question to you the other day, deadstick is still good. Nice striper! I’ve only ever managed one in this state. Maybe I’ll actually be able to get out on it when the boat is done (hopefully) this weekend. I need to feel the tug, it’s been a couple months. Now that it’s warming up any plans for crappie?
@@BooneBoys just stay focused. It's just the best tasting fish this state has, rivaled only by walleye and rainbow trout. Imagine the fish fry. Besides, how many times do we go crappie fishing and get bass anyways? Those are good days.
Normally we move along about .4mph Sometimes spot lock works and the fish will keep coming in. But most of the time we are moving. Sometimes you might need to move faster. Up to .7mph. I rarely catch them faster than that. Thanks for watching our videos!
I did a video over the ugly stik catfish and striper models. To make it short I love the bend and fight from the medium light striper, but if I had to choose just one for deadstick and live bait I’d choose the striper medium heavy. The medium light deadsticking does take awhile to load up the rod when setting hook. But that bend of the rod though. 😁
Are you based in Oklahoma? I'm a chef of 30 years and am wanting to shoot a series where I go on a camping/fishing trip with a group of fishers and cook them gourmet meals out of their catches. I'm also in Oklahoma. Would that be something you'd be interested in?
@LebaneserScrooge yes we are in Oklahoma. I mean how could some Okies turn down a gourmet meal? 🐟🐟 Grab our email in the description and give us a holler.
What was the water temp? And I didn't hear the thumper going, do you not use it in that depth water? Water was 55 last weekend, went out Saturday and it was up at 64 😬 it was 93 here today so I think dead sticking is pretty much done here.

Glad our videos are helping you out. Foss is a tough lake, but has its good times.

Ha ha. He’s usually been the one holding the camera while he takes our photo, so grandpa needed this. But…I better get the next one. lol.
Another great Boone Boys video!
It's warm here in Texas, too! 🎉🎉

Awesome video and action.
Thanks!

I’ve been wanting to start on some crappie but knowing me I’d start crappie and end up with an itch to catch some bass.

Love your videos! When deadsicking do you primarily spotlock, or find yourself easing along slowly with the trolling motor for best results?

Btw, have you ever discussed the length and power/action of your rods? What do you like for your jigs and your live bait?

Do you ever fish for wipers at night?
Not often.

Is that Canton? I may have missed it in your video.
Yes it’s Canton.
@@BooneBoys That dam is really long. We're going to try to get out to the Walley Rodeo this year. Hope to see you guys there.

We used the thumper most the time. It was going slower than normal but sometimes it was cutting out because of the cigarette plug is getting corroded.
Surface temp was 55-65. Thing is this time of year it will heat up the top but lower is still pretty cool.
Canton?
Yes
I didn’t realize they had Stripers.
For a smaller lake, they have really nice stripers. We’ve actually caught bigger striper there than Texoma by length.
