Great video! Keep up the good work. Newbie here who just started their home gym last month.
You really hit the nail on the head when you said injuries happen when load exceeds capacity, not necessarily whether the back is rounded or not. Most people blindly suggest that you should never deadlift with a rounded back without addressing the fact that a lot of elite lifters actually lift that way, and that you can train yourself to lift that way (I'm not saying you should lift with a rounded back though). You did a great job addressing this!
A seriously good breakdown
Did you find this helpful? What other exercises would you like me to break down in a future video?
i get that science is indicating Full ROM and Partial at length have comparable muscle growth but has every aspect been scienced.. how does this impact stabilizers, tendons, strength
When you dive into the research regarding muscle growth, you’ll find that there is soooooooo much we don’t know. I love seeing research specific to hypertrophy via weight training but there are still a ton of questions and best guesses out there!
I have never came across your channel before, but this is a nice tutorial. I am subscribing to your channel.
Welcome!! So glad you liked it!
Have you ever failed a bench press lift? Is that fear of yours? Let me know!
Yes, I’m great at the “roll of shame”. I can get out from under some serious weight that way!
For me this is the best, most comprehensive, and fool proof breakdown video!!! Thanks!!!
Well thank you so much!
❤❤❤
Thank you Annie! So helpful and clear. I was always hesitant about arching my back! Now I get why it is actually safer to do it. Do the same principles apply for the DB bench press?. Thank you!
Yep! And incline bench as well though the arch is less aggressive there as it’s a bit a hybrid between bench and overhead press. Still looking for a packed shoulder and good range though.

u r nobody in the fitness industry...nobody is interested in your opinions ..
Agreed on not needing stiff legged when you have RDL's. However, you SO should have included my FAVORITE and goto deadlift - TRAP BAR! 🙂. Lots of good benefits! Oh btw, liked and subcribed! My channel specializes in helping skinny guys get JACKED. But, I like your style already!
Loved this. Entrepreneur and a mom of two as well *fist bump* I watched it at the time and at half speed, as you do. Great motivation for a Monday morning. Thank you!
Looking for plank pull-throughs demo-perfect
you are AMAZING
I just love your review and your candid and frank style of presentation. The comments on the belt chime so well with me as I have been having an awful time finding one that doesn't dig in to my hips and inner thighs. I had seen the spud inc pillow belt advertised, but not seen any review on it. I think your endorsement has sold it to me. Thanks and once again well done!!
I Love This Content ! You are a Straight Shooter ! You are SO Truth full & SO Helpful ...
Have you ever been ghosted by a client before? How did you handle the issue? Let me know in the comments!
Many of us have been super skinny all our lives. I weighed 99lbs upon HS graduation. Am 60 yo now and have been working out since elementary school. I’m still skinny @ 145 lbs. my legs and thighs refuse to bulk up. Any advice?
This is so helpful! My gym has one of these, but I was too afraid to use it without a proper demonstration. Thanks for this!
Loooved this ❤️🔥
Get those evergreen offers set up!
Same story- wasn’t sure about kids, got pregnant, loved it and had 1 more. My biggest thing is the childcare / work balance. I can only work 5 hours a day and it doesn’t feel like enough. Want to grow faster and also be present in motherhood 😅
Hello, are sitting next to each other on this rollercoaster? Lol
This video was just as great as I expected it to be. Thank you for sharing the balance of realness and action/accountability 🙌🏼
Thank you so much for the comment ❤️
I AM SO EXCITED TO WATCH THIS BEING 4 MONTHS PREGGO AND SO WORRIED ABOUT WHAT IT WILL DO TO MY BIZ 😂 thank youuuuu 🙏🏽
I just want people to see this side and I didn’t see it from anyone before having kids!
Such a good topic! I totally agree. My clients are case by case depending on mobility, but I train at end ranges as much as possible. Side note, I’m in PP rn, and loving it!🤩
UM HELLO WE LOVE THIS
Always great Annie! I appreciate the article references. Thanks!
Thank you!!
I hate that working out has gotten so scientific. If you’re blessed with good mobility then use it. Know your restrictions to avoid injury but I agree 👍🏾
👍🏼
Thank you for making this video! It’s really helpful.
You’re so welcome! If you have any questions let me know!
🙏🙌🙌 for your video uploading consistency regardless of subscribers or likes ❤❤
Just out here playing that long game!
Love this Annie!! Great reminder and cues for this time of the year. Definitely will be rewatching and implementing these action steps
The complete structure and presentation of this video is absolute perfection - clear - concise - brilliant
Well thank you!!
Loved the video. You break difficult concepts down and make them more digestible.
That is literally at the core of my brand, so we love to hear it ❤️❤️
This channel is gonna blow up by the end of this year, remember this comment
I’ll take it!
This is a great video! Thank you for taking time to explain and share!! Absolutely makes sense to me!!👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Thanks so much for the feedback. I think this conversation is so interesting and ultimately for me, it’s coming down to mechanical advantage and gravity on a certain movement path - that standing hamstring curl vs prone is a perfect example.
Is the platform homemade?
Yeah in the video I explain that! If you’re referring to the additional boards on top.
Did this video make sense or confuse you more? lol. Let me know your thoughts on this topic.
yes... this confuses because 'tension' is being misused... please watch Dr. Mike Izertel (spelling)
also... wth is 1.25 rep?
The most solid takeaway consistently is, scientifically, doing partials near complete contraction yields the least... less net return on investment... most gains occur from either 'full range of motion' or partials closer to full extension (least leverage) also, watch Jeff Nippard please...
I needed to see this! In the throes of a herniated cervical disc and feeling deflated. Still dealing with pain but this has taught me I can still slowly make my way back.
It’s a different game for sure. We CAN still move however 🤌🏼
Thanks for sharing this! It gave me so much hope, as I am currently on day 4 of my lower back injury and was very much in the trenches mentally. This one lifted me up 🥹
Oooof I swear the mental game can be the hardest part
I’m so glad you posted this. I recently went through the SAME thing… did my lower body lift then spent the rest of the day at my desk… walked to the washing machine to start laundry and as I was standing completely still I felt my back sort of lock up, (slide out of place almost). I’ve also had a history of back issues but this time it was the worst it’s ever been. Im convinced it was the sitting, not the lift that messed me up. All of what you have said here is SO HELPFUL.
So interesting and I have to say I agree! Or a compound effect of both!
Get the transformer pin. It allows the belt to attach higher so you can achieve more depth.
That’s what I heard! Thanks!
Love these educated gains! Thank you for sharing these studies and putting it so nicely in lay terms.
You’re so welcome! Glad it helped
Nice job Annie. Thanks!
Thank you!
Hi Annie, thank you for this video. Switching to barefoot shoes was a game-changer for me. They let my feet move naturally, which helped improve my posture and balance. Over time, I noticed my feet and legs getting stronger too. I wear Hykes Escapes, and they’re comfortable, minimalist, and durable. It’s like getting back to the way our feet are supposed to work.
Literally never heard of that brand! Thanks for sharing!!
Super solid list and very educational. Thank you!
Thank you!
really great list! if i put all of these into a session, would i have a great workout or would i just be dead? 🤣
Definitely dead lol
Having been through BBA some of these are not surprising at all!
Love to hear that.
Great list- must have been hard to pick only 10! I do love a carry, especially for my clients. I work with 50+ year old women and really stress the importance of a strong core, and do one hand at a time to add that challenge of balance. I am so happy to see more older women taking their strength seriously as we age.
SAME 👏🏼 And it was more difficult than I thought for upper body!
Exactly what I was looking for! Currently 4 weeks with my 2nd pregnancy and I already feel like I'll have more control over what I eat and how I train. I didn't use any nausea meds but this time around I'll use it if I can. And same with no insurance during the first pregnancy - it limited me. My goal is no weight gain in the 1st trimester. Thank you for all the valuable info ❤
Okay but serious question is this dangerous to add weight too? Could it be bad for knees
I would consider this an advanced movement that one would need to progress to. It's not dangerous to add weight to, or bad for the knees if someone has built the capacity to do so. :)
