Catfish Adventure / Our First Time Razing Catfish
This is our first attempt in razing catfish.. we have had fish ponds before and did all right with them. like i said we put 460 or more in the tank.. at this point we didn't know how or what to feed them. we found out latter the ones that looked like they were sleeping needed more oxygen.. our tank was to full of water.. they would float and sink to the bottom and die.. We kept them and razed them up to be around 2 to 3 lbs. each. at that point we ate a lot of catfish.. It was a fun adventure. We also razed a lot of tilapia in our tanks.. and that went well.. Tilapia is a lot easier to raze than catfish for sure. I will post a follow up video on the catfish.. hope you liked the vid ..

      I had a partner when we bought it brand new. The Hudson Dealer was making his first order when we bought this. Beside the orginal mill cost we added a third track length and later I purchaced a fourth track. We milled about 825,000 board feet of lumber with it until 2016 when several parts were needed for replacement. In 2012 I was elected into a civil office and still remain. My partner moved the mill and disassembled it when I picked it up in 2018. It was in very poor shape. Many parts need replacement or rebuilding. Ii spent the next several winters restoring it and finished it in 2021. Since I live in a flood prone area I constructed an elevated pad for the mill and infeed deck. A mill shed covers the infeed deck, the mill and the outfeed deck. My lumber there is on my flatbed trailer with stickers and driven to my lumber shed 125 feet away. It is a drive thru buildind with an overhead hoist that unloads the lumber from the trailer into a shelf for it's storage. Currently 60 years old I tried to make this a easy as I could without using hydraulics.

      @@ForeignLifestylestory My concern began with Elastomer paint vs Acrylic paint. I initially thought Elastomer paint (which I though you were using) would have been too much weight because I miscalculated the weight distribution from your formula of "3lbs a... 10x10 square"... but thnx to an individual replying to one of my comments, he set me straight. So, if Elastomeric paint (which does have some Acrylic in it) is stronger and thicker and lasts longer - does it dry as thin as an straight Acrylic paint? Process of 1 coat of primer and 1 coat of Elastomer or.... 1 coat of primer and one coat of straight Acrylic. Also, I didn't hear of any mention of fabric over the seams in the video. If I were to choose between the two methods, I'm presuming the cost savings in doing it this way as compared to having to replace all the shingles is pretty substantial?

    • @ForeignLifestylestory
      @ForeignLifestylestory ปีที่แล้ว

      @@justme8649 we don't usually put fabric on shingles.. we do fabric on metal roofs...dry time is around 36 hours.... on a 30x70 roof your adding around 21 lbs at the most...most of the time we do two coats... primer and top coat.. we have a place where we can get the top coat colored... hope this helps

    • @ForeignLifestylestory
      @ForeignLifestylestory ปีที่แล้ว

      It's hard to match it.. but it can be patched...you would have to a bigger spot than just one shingle like 100 square feet ... if you are having trouble with them blowing off.. it would be better to do the hole roof...

I don't think it will last even couple of years. Need much thicker coating like elastomer or silicon based.

    • @harrymills2770
      @harrymills2770 ปีที่แล้ว

      "Dispersed camping" is a townie/urbanite term. But it's useful, because it distinguishes normal camping from organized camp grounds. I think my first time at an organized campground with RV hookups and tent sites I was in my 30s. Before that, they were always just curiosities I drove by on the way to camp for free in primitive sites. National Forest campgrounds are pretty nice, and they keep all the sewage in one place and dispose of it properly. Not everybody is responsible (most aren't) about proper latrines away from developed campgrounds. It's pretty haphazard. Burying one job is no big deal, but if you're there for any length of time, better provision needs to be made and often isn't. Still, more of us are more responsible than we were 50 or 100 years ago, but there're just a lot more people, now, and we put more pressure on primitive/wilderness areas just by wanting to go see them.
