  • The good the bad and the ugly of owning property in the Philippines. Its not all cut and dry. nothing is simple it takes a long time to get the paper work done. and even then you have to deal with all the nabobs and tenets. It can be a very long and expensive process to get a title to any property. Then dealing with all the problem of the people that have used the property in the past and even previous owner that have already sold the property.. if the y think there a chance that theirs money involved, they will show up . siblings , ants, and every one comes out of the wood work with there hands out. But the worst in the people that built there houses on property that they don't own. when you buy and have it surveyed you find all kinds of new stuff out. the property lines don't match up of to most people don't exist. and theirs not much you can do about it if theirs a house on your property. you can ask them to move, but they wont. they will give you the answer that they don't have money to move or that they have been there for years and nobody cared tell now. And if you do complain to them you will be threatened with your life or your families life. At that time you have to decide if a few square meters is worth it to you. When it all comes don to it theirs really nothing you can do but live with the screwed up way of thinking that has been put in there minds for years..
