First time trying out a 200TW tire, and it did not disappoint! Managed a huge PB even in hot weather (this session was 85F). Definitely lots of time left on the table, and a lot more to learn for next time. It appears that the stickier tires confuse the track mode control in the car, as it was kicking in almost every corner. will need to practice with all stability control full off next time. C...

    As a GR86 owner since feb of 22', tracking it weekly, tried many different tire setups. This is fast for v730s. But what I really enjoy even more than this time? Watch his oil pressure on those hard rights. Im glad your cars still kicking. I instinctively drop rpm or up shift just to keep it below 4k and kind almost coast throttle the hard right turns and whatnot now.

  • @MiracleX19

    What I wanna know is how you downshift. I want a GR86 myself so I want to know. Do you need to lift the clutch slowly to get the bite point while downshifting? How do you know which RPM to blip the throttle to? How do you skip gears?

      @@MiracleX19 bought an 86 for my first stick and put around 6k miles on it. It's trial and error. you'll feel after a few times downshifting what the perfect rev is for the mph. It all depends what your speed is. I can shift from 3rd to 2nd at 30mph and blip it to like around 4-4500 and the car won't jolt. And yea, for a beginner (no one will rly tell u this) you can hold the clutch at the biting point for like half a second to make sure ur doing it right. once you know where the biting point is, no need to lift it slowly. if you do it right, you can let it out to the biting point quickly for faster downshifts. just don't go over the biting point when you do that or your car will tell you

      The data speaks for itself, there are definitely reasons to be concerned about pressure drops in the right hand turns. Thank you! If you notice, I already am using 4th gear for T4 and T10. On the SX2 tires, I don't see a pressure drop there, likely due to fewer lateral Gs, but on the V730, the higher lateral G causes the pressure drop, even in a higher gear

    Great run, sir, deep respect! About the oil pressure level: it's REALLY good news the fact that 1q of overfill quite solves the issue, without the need to install aftermarket pieces! If I can ask, how do you measure such an overfill? I still don't really understand when the oil level is at its "max", because the two sides of the dipstick always show different readings: when one side is at the max, the other side is usually below; what side is the "right" reading, the one with the higher or the one with the lower mark?...

    • @studiousGR86
      @studiousGR86 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I wouldn't say its solved, it's just mitigated. Usually I fill until the dipstick reads the top dot, then add X amount on top. You always take the reading of the lower side of the dipstick.

    • @studiousGR86
      @studiousGR86 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I don't have an oil baffle, just 1 qt overfill for the track. For street/canyon driving, you will likely be fine with a smaller (0.5)qt overfill. I wouldn't run a baffle for now because there isn't one that shows any significant improvement. SYMS baffle seems to be the best option currently, but it is not a big enough improvement for me to go for it yet. There are talks of a larger oil pan being developed, and likely I will wait for that
