The Uxbridge (Dirt) Bike Trail?
Even dirt bikes couldn't ruin a great day in the saddle for a gravel ride on the Canada Day long weekend. It was unfortunate to see dirt bikes speeding along the trail at 40km/h. Yet, overall the ride made for a great day. The Uxbridge Rail Trail to Lindsay is part of the @transcanadatrail. I would recommend if you are doing the loop that you carry enough water to get you to Lindsay. There are cafes and restaurants you can stop at before returning to the trail for the ride back to Uxbridge. For parking, you can park on the east side of the rail tracks in Uxbridge, where the Go Buses stop. While it is not advisable to park at the Second Wedge Brewery, it is advisable to go for an after ride pint! they have great beer. @thesecondwedge

The Perfect Cycling Loop in Ontario
มุมมอง 2.8Kหลายเดือนก่อน
The Simcoe County Loop Trail is 160KM, and is in my opinion the best long-distance loop for cycling in Ontario. It's not the most technical; it doesn't have the steepest climbs; it's not remote; it's not all gravel. So what makes the @CyclesimcoeCa Simcoe County Loop Trail the perfect loop for cycling in Ontario? It has gravel roads and rail trails; it has great bakeries; hits through great tow...
Day 3 Prince Edward County Bike Tour

A long time coming, but this is the third and final video of our big tour through Prince Edward County Ontario, Canada. This is a fantastic area for cycling, tourism and just to relax. You really feel you are a long way away from urban living. And yet you are really not that far away at all. Link to the route can be found here. At long last the Day 2 video! :-) This was by far our favourite loop. The Cressy Loop, which leaves Picton as a loop around the peninsula. The weather was great. The cheese was great. The beer was great!. Link to the route: www.komoot.com/tour/1262696754?ref=wtd&share_token=aWifGAAoUrfpVQ3dD38H6CLxUB7AcZePwYXLWpnfsJsLKjHRBC

Here is Day 1 of a three day cycling tour. All tours begin and end in Picton Ontario. It's a wonderful place; and these three routes only scratch the surface. There are many other rides possible, including wine tours and the Millennium Rail Trail. Hope you enjoy. 2023 Reggie Ramble Gravel Race
มุมมอง 220ปีที่แล้ว
The 2023 Reggie Ramble is an epic gravel race in south central Ontario. It's about an hour's drive NE of Toronto, and south east of Rice Lake. There are three distances (Loops): 65km (one loop); 130km (two loops) and 200km (three loops). And each loop is a distinct ride, not a repeated lap. The race was first run in 2019. The 2023 edition was the largest to-date, with the fastest finishes so fa...
Unbound Gravel 100

This was a bucket list event for me. An absolutely amazing ride. And the hardest ride I've done. Who said the prairies are flat!! 1300m climbing and 7km of hike a bike through heavy sticky mud. What makes this route amazing is the people: the local residents embrace the event and the cyclists are made to feel so welcome. I had the fortune of spending five days with the team from Rocket Revoluti...

Who's terrible idea was this fantastic ride? Haha. Some rides you can love and loathe at the same time...this was one of them. An epic 140km ride with my buddy Jay. It was supposed to be a bit of a loop; but as you will see, on the return I had to make a straight line back to civilization to warm up! This is really a great route though; it takes you through some rail trail, gravel and remote se...

    How much of the ride is paved vs gravel? Is it fairly easy to see a good pace or are there a lot of pedestrians in spots?

    • @bike-ride-beats
      @bike-ride-beats 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Probably 80% gravel. Trail does go through some town roads. And the north trail through Penetang is a paved trail but beautiful through forest. You only see walkers in the more urban sections. Avg pace for me is 24kph
