ThrustMaster HOTAS Warthog - improve accuracy & smoothness with Nyogel
The Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS is the best joystick on market. Period. However, it suffers badly from sticking at points in its travel. The problem is caused by small ridges left on the moulded plastic components during manufacture. It's almost impossible to fly a helicopter or any aircraft with very fine movements with these ridges creating sticking points.
In this video I will share with you how I fixed this problem. The video follows these steps:
Disassembly
Cleaning
Sanding
Testing
Greasing
Re-assembly

How to fix your USB problems
มุมมอง 3.2K4 ปีที่แล้ว
Are you having weird issues with your wheel, pedals, joysticks or USB disk where they will sometimes drop out or misbehave? A few weeks ago while driving with my Heusinkveld racing pedals they became really laggy. Pressing on the accelerator would take up to 5 seconds to be sent to the game. I also found that the Simucube open sim wheel hardware would occasionally drop out completely. In additi...
Cyclone Mangga vs X-Plane 11.50b9 Vulkan flight simulator motion platform VR
มุมมอง 3034 ปีที่แล้ว
In Western Australia over the last few days ex-tropical cyclone Mangaa has been wreaking havoc along the west coast. The cyclone damaged homes, produced monster waves and prevented aircraft from landing. This seemed like a great opportunity to see what the SFX100 flight simulator motion platform would do and how the weather would be depicted by ActiveSky XP. About 24 hours after the eye of the ...
Troubleshooting issues with a simulator motion platform
มุมมอง 1.7K4 ปีที่แล้ว
In this video I will be explaining one possible solution for the SFX100 motion platform problem of the Arduino based controller dropping out or crashing randomly. Once the Arduino crashes it loses the connection with Simfeedback, the driver software, the platform powers down and returns to the rest position. Simfeedback is unaware that anything is wrong and continues sending position informatio...

I broke my Direct Drive steering wheel in rFactor 2!
มุมมอง 1.7K4 ปีที่แล้ว
This video is a sobering reminder of the large forces involved with direct drive steering systems. To try and save a little on my direct drive Open sim wheel build, I 3D printed the servo shaft clamp using ABS filament. It seemed to be a very strong component with 70% infill but as you will see it was no match for the small mige and 20Nm of force. I had just finished testing the motion platform...

What is SimTools and how does it work? Part 2
Hi. what is the part between the slider and stopper at time stamp 1:22. I have order all parts but cant find this piece
How are you controlling the actuators? Please guide.
Just wondering, Anyone here build a motion sim with nema 34 closed loop steppers ?
What if I can't get the ioni boards, what alternative can I use?
part #3 ?
I had the same issue, but I resolved it by adding an external powered USB hub on the PC end, and so far, no dropouts
What is the max weight in LBS the four actuators can handle? I envision mounting them to the 4 sides of my 737 Full Cockpit. Total weight the system can support and max travel expected? Thanks
work on 6 axis?
Hello, i built a welded iron frame driving simulator so its more heavy than aluminum ones.I would like to make it to move using a 4dof system. Can i use the actuators in this video ? What is their maximum permitted weight ?And another question, do i need something else or just the products explained in this video ? Because i see people saying they used them for their SFX100,what is that ?
I am wondering if you can get the aluminium profile anywhere in australia . I cost too much to get from germany.
So bad lots of lagging
Thank you!! I fixed my GH70 headset I just bought on gumtree. Plugged it into USB 2 hub into USB 2 port and now I can record and play sound at the same time! Before I could only get listen OR record and got 'not enough resources' error when plugged it directly in to USB 3 motherboard! I really liked your explanation about end points vs speed!
Hello, I am having problems with a Maxsine EP100-3A Servo driver and Mige ST130-M15015 motor, I can't get the motor in the Jog mode, can you help me maybe?
one thing i dont understand is why 80/20 rig builders always put the seat bar inside the rectangle frame instead of putting it on top of the long bars, to create a ledge they can rest on. because, if were resting circa 100kg in the seat plus acceleration, why just rely on those brackets fr strength?
I love how you made the heptic system. I am looking into doing that myself and thank you for sharing. I wasn't able to locate where to buy the servo.
Can you be my sponsor :) ?
Why does everyone use the MiGE motor with the OSW? Can't they use any other PMSM servo within the max torque range?
Up
Hola. What software do you use?
I'm exploring making an SFX-100 rig myself at the moment, but I'm not sure I want to go down the route of 3d printing since it would be completely new to me (though I am undecided). Do you know of anywhere that the dimensions of the mounts are published? I'm trying to evaluate the option of fabricating using metal where I'm more comfortable, I've seen a couple of people that went this route. Anyway, great videos and really useful - looks fantastic and I look forward to joining the party some time next year!
Dude, can you share some SIMTOOLS Settings?
Oh buddy... I"m in!! This looks pretty awesome! I been looking at this type of thing for a little while now.. going to get my 'orders' together.. Thanks again for posting this..DMAX
I would have never started building motion sims if I had not found your channel my friend! Thanks for all your posts.. and for your enthusiasm to keep making stuff. I'm going to venture into the OSW waters in 2023 and attempt to use similar components. Now I'm off to watch your osw build.. Thanks again, DMAX
i see some build of material that recommended using a LMK30uu and some LMEK30uu. which one is the correct one?
Why was the ring not needed?
Thank you sir it is very helping
Saxxon66 has abandoned this project. Do not make a donation for advanced setting to SimFeedback, you WILL NOT GET IT! Go with the Thanos controller instead.
Agreed! I have just purchased the Thanos4U module and registered version of Simracing studio.
He is happy to take your money. Tried contacting him with no success to get my money back.
One thing I don't have which is really stopping me from buying the motors etc, is a printer. Is it possible to buy the printed parts I need or source them? Can't seem to find files anywhere for all the little printed plastic bits.
You did not have the issue with the world being replicated by the vive tracker and being way out of orientation?
I'm having this exact issue, Its so frustrating

this video is the best video about sim tools ever love your video man
I am receiving this error message "Bitte Wahle einen com port aus" when I try to flash the Arduino. I have to set the COM Port with the same port as Serial Port, right? I took the COM number from 'devices and printers'.
Thank you 👍 for sharing this with us 💥
How much RPM does motor has ? and how much linear speed did you get out of them ?
hello, please help me set up telemetry. and link the game with the program.
Can some of the parts be cnc machined?
Hi do you find that when the servos are running you get some interference with the light house tracking? I have jus built similar rig but when servos are running I get allot of interference with the lighthouse trackers, any advice would be appreciated.. cheers
All of the electrical equipment you use like the computer and sim rig all need to be on the same earth ground. You will want put a self tapping screw into your sim rig frame with a wire attached to the same ground as the rest of the equipment. Doing this 100 percent solved my tracking "grey outs"
Amazing video
Dustin.. awesome work on SIMTOOLS and SixDegreesOfFlight.. thanks for getting me involved in this stuff.. DMAX Motion sim ch
@SixDegreesOfFlight Hi mate. At 2:19 your slider looks damaged can you explain what was up and why it looks likes this
So I don't have any USB hubs and I'm still having issues.
Thanks for putting up these two videos, started researching making these and a cost analysis and they helped a ton! Hope you're enjoying it!
There are several factors that go into this: Some hubs use more endpoints than others. If you are mixed 2.0 and 3.0 devices on a hub it can use even more endpoints. It will reserve more endpoints than it should. The easy fix would just be to go AMD which have significantly more allowed endpoints even though technically by spec there's thousands, but xhci implementations vary and Intel sux with their implementation. Some of the pci hubs won't alleviate the issue as pci lanes on older Intel are shared lanes. I wish alder lake addressed this issue, but there's no indication it does. So it is still AMD moving forward for me. I have a lot of gear I need plugged in to USB that I all need working all the time. I can't have them dropping out.
Thanks... I am currently using IBT-2's for motor controllers on 50:1 motors on my 3DOF. Works great BTW.. But want to step up a bit to a 6 DOF like your's for obvious reasons.. I'm going to order those Sabertooth controllers.. BTW you may never see this post but if you do.. Click my channel DMAX
hi mate..may i get your plan too? i planning to buid it for my rig..
Does this software eliminate motion sickness?
If you're using a bigger mige the 130st-15025 would this same process work?
In north america, we have 110 V at most of the outlet sockets (electric stove and water heater are usually connected to the 220) because the incoming 220 volts to the house is split by a grounded neutral; you can run a 220v power cord from your panel to your rig and connect the 220 volt equipment. Short run if your incoming panel is nearby - but less convenient if you're upstairs and the panel is in the basement.
Newer built homes with basement panels usually have a chase way for dropping new lines down for adding on. I plan on dropping a dedicated 220 line from my attic to the basement panel , across the attic then dropping it down into my office.
Can I use the USB 3 hub instead of USB 2 hub? plugging it on usb 2 port on the motherboard? Will it be the same result?
Thanks for the video. I'm toying with the idea of building a sfx100 motion but I'm limited on power. Can you tell me the power draw in amps at the outlet? Thanks.
