@sureaxiom yeah, i was surprised as well of the build quality. Last time I played my original was in 1996 and I wasn't nearly the player I am now and learned so much about guitars since then that this one really held up over time.

@DMan-ud6bt I've spoken to a few others that have this rig and fly DCS and have the same issues. DoF really doesn't have a solution for this due to the telemetry data coming from dcs. If you have the settings on very mild, it really doesn't act this way. But you also hardly feel anything during flight, so it's fun during non combat flights but sucks when you get shot out of the sky.

@fresco350z3 i haven't done this repair is so long I don't remember lol. I'm really not a mechanic by trade but I've learned over the years to just buy the tools, TH-cam what you can and swear a ton. Eventually you'll figure it out

@@amonster8mymother nope, completely stock. You're not wrong to think that as they were both very new to the public back then. Probably why Ned chose them as they were different and cutting edge as he was. They are basically guitar pickups that fit this body.

@theittyreport yea but it's the L2 sound that I love. I've listened to a couple of people play l2s and I've played a few l2s (actually xl2as) and they dont seem to get that there a a sound that you want out of them. They just say "it's a bass it sounds like this" so I started getting suspicious that they might have swapped the pickups to the newer active emg from the spirit basses?? I'm concerned that I want to get a bass with the original pickups to get that authentic l2 tone. I've heard about people swapping pickups before and I dont eant to buy a bass for $2800 and find out later the pickups are cheap crap made by gibson??? Know what I mean???

@amonster8mymother this one was sold directly to my friend Mike Burke who was also an engineer like ned steinberger. It's one of the 1st of the production models ever made. I can't tell you the historical versions of pickup revisions done on the L2 basses but this one is as stock as it gets. Also remember this, emg pups are not active on their own, they are all passive just like dimarzio. It's the preamp that makes them active. It's a huge misconception that people think emg is active. Any pickup would be considered active if the system has a preamp circuit in the guitar. There's a cool video on emg production and they help explain that as well.

@luiscolon608 I'm betting it's your iron not the clear coat. I friend hit me up on Facebook that did a way better job than this guitar and she told me to get a different iron. I bought it and did a 3rd holoflash and it was night and day better. I'll find the link on Amazon and post it below for you

@luiscolon608 no worries, I burned the 1st two guitars with the other iron and this one worked perfectly. I'd play around on the back of your guitar to get the feel for the heat and timing and make sure you clean the surface with rubbing alcohol not guitar polish as polish is a wax and helps to not show fingerprints. Rubbing alcohol should clean it without leaving any residue. Good luck!

@Metaltrippin2 they are fairly standard size. If you look on ebay for a takuchi tremolo Floyd rose style tremolo the trs pro is the same as the ones dozens of makes used. Ibanez jackson yamaha etc all used takuchi tremolos in the 90s. Just had their name stamped on them but identical in every way. Stay away from the trs 101 versions as they are total crap. Let me know if you have trouble finding one

@monkeyflowz3894 i actually think all i did was search on Amazon for my year make and model o2 sensors and it came up. They have a feature that confirms your vehicle if you enter it

@errore2064 yes, look up takuchi trems on ebay, they're inexpensive and great. Trs pro is the best

@mje19D it's nice to see that you're now the 1000th person to say this even though at the end of the video I say it's not hot in there even with a flight suit on. But I like the looks of it and the cables require it to be close like this

It’s probably a good thing that I don’t have something like this because if I did I think I’d just completely check out from society, I’d be a literal hermit locked up inside gaming 24/7 😂😂 Edit: just clicked the video and you answered my heat question in the first minute 😂 idc if the temps reached the surface of the sun, I’d never get out of this thing😂😂

@joereilly8890 it's all good, I actually have no problem with the heat from the systems. Actually wear a flight suit as well during the winter so the heat is welcomed

@rigbi8041 yeah, dcs can be glitchy for sure. But it still holds up for what i do with it.

@mig092 exactly the same tremolo. If it says takuchi on it, it's the same for ibanez and several others from that era.

Tried for 10 years everything i could to make it work from flipping cars to selling roofing to working as an apple technician and finally a contractor. The one thing that can't be done by a computer and shit always needs fixing. Today I'll be replacing toilets, installing faucets, door handles, and if time shower trim. Easy way to make $1500 in a day
