Dunno if this is helpful but imgburn is a good program I used to use back in the day for copying playstation games and the like. You're gonna want to burn an image, not just burn the .cue and .bin files to the disc. I guess you probably already went through all that nonsense but if you haven't, good luck.

Sounds like you got the original gamepad (FZ-JP1) instead of the updated gamepad (FZ-JP1X) that fixed the diagonals, Capcom also made a 6 button pad (FZ-JJ1XP) just for Street Fighter. Hey at least you didn't get a Goldstar pad!

If it hasn't been done, you're gonna wanna do a re-cap on it. Only a matter of time before it won't read games if you don't replace the capacitors. All these retro systems need re-capped. I learned to solder, because I got sick of sending my consoles off for mods, and re-caps.

Bought my 3do in 98. Funcoland was just trying to get rid of it. $50 a new 3do and 25+ games. The reason I bought it for Street Fighter, Primal Rage, and Samurai Showdown. Road Rash was my favorite game. Wing Commander 2 was a pleasant surprise. I wish I collected more, but my money was going to Japanese exports of Saturn games and a Jaguar and Jag CD collection.

It has lessons about music structure at the bottom in the sheet music mode? I desperately need that in my life. Bach simulator deserves an "Ahead of Its Time" honorable mention 2: You missed the comparison to live a live for the guardian game, Mr. SNES RPGs. Mechanically they seem similar, but live a live probably did it much better since we're talking about Square. Road rash is a totally different game than the one on the genesis, but I had it on the PS1.

Captain Quasar's controls are insane, there's literally an option in the pause menu to make the controls better and IT'S NOT THE DEFAULT. Gets WAY more playable once you change it.

Jason, have you played Psychic Detective? It's a fucking TRIP! Plus, you can get it for like $20-30 on the 3DO, but it'll set you back $200-250 for the PS1. Give it a shot. It's nuts, and I love it. 👍🏻

The single thing I like about SF 1 better than 2 is how much darker and more serious a lot of the sprites are. They went a bit too cartoony for 2 in my opinion. Some of the enemies in 1 were actually intimidating for kid me. The zombies and such especially. There's nothing like that in 2.

10 or so years ago I found a 3DO at a Goodwill laying around next to stereo stuff for 7 dollars. I miss the days when Goodwill didn't know what they had. I found SM64 there once for 2 dollars. Crazy you had such an issue with burned games. Maybe when I found mine my drive was just perfect for it since I never had any issues.

I had a 3do growing up, so this video (and the streams) was a lot of fun to watch. Genuinely glad you enjoyed it for what it is. Also looking forward to a Star Control 2 review - one of the most criminally underrated games ever. It's free (and open source) for pc btw if you google "The Ur Quan Masters" if you'd rather that platform
