If you can't eat chicken due to personal preferences, I recommend using pork as a substitute. If you can't eat meat due to religious reasons, it can still be delicious without meat.

@@jpcookingichie Yes I looked it up and it looks like a delicious dish. Here where I live in Canada we can buy them at our local asian store with 2 veriety one that is cut in long sticks. My mom makes a pork stew with the sticks and a chiken stir fry with the slice ones. I never seen the dish you metioned before and would be excited to cook and eat it.

It is like bat-soy( pork belly not beef) but with Japanese noodles( I prefer instead of ‘miswa’ a Chinese kind in the Philippine cuisine)…btw i mix with pork or chicken blood…; y slices of upo/gourd)…topped with Japanese sesame seed oil🎉

Hi. What if i dont have sake?
For a substitute for cooking sake, white wine or mirin is recommended. If you can’t use alcohol, it’s also fine to skip it. The role of cooking sake is to add umami and eliminate unwanted odors, but other seasonings generally achieve similar effects, so omitting it won’t make a big difference.

Made this last night. Was great. I had to substitute the pork belly as i live in very rural United States, so I put in some cubed SPAM into it. I didn't add salt because the SPAM is very salty already. Turned out fantastic. I might make some more in the future but with a lot more green onion. I enjoy the flavor. Thank you!

Very nice and useful tips. I lived many years in Japan and now back in Romania. I can still buy S&B and other Japanese curry roux here. Yes, Worcestershire sauce lifts the curry. Most of the time I make this with beef. Also make keema curry with minced meat and corn. Cocos Curry is excellent, I was a regular guest at a couple of Cocos in Fukuoka, spice level 3 or 4. No curry, no life! Good smell, good curry! :-)) Arigato!

thanks for the video, and for the great tips on curry making! i make it for my family quite a lot, but you gave some good hints to make it even better! i would love to see you cover gyoza in a video or two. maybe how to cook frozen gyoza the correct japanese way, and maybe one on making gyoza from scratch. we just got back from japan and the gyoza in japan is so different to what i can find here in canada.
