Welcome to my channel! My name is Adam Martin and I own a small business that repairs and restores antique/classic cars. My specialty is GM stuff pre-72, mostly Buick, but I will work on anything. I use this channel to upload random videos of cars I'm working on, completed jobs, or the occasional rant or issue I have when working on a particular project. Really exciting stuff...

Glove Box Lock Removal and Install GM Muscle Cars
มุมมอง 3.7K8 หลายเดือนก่อน
Super easy job to do if you know what to do...check it out! This probably works on most all GM cars from the mid 60's through the mid 70's, but this specific lock is from a 68-72 Buick GS or Skylark. Master Cylinder and Power Brake Booster Pushrods! IMPORTANT TIP!
มุมมอง 4.5K11 หลายเดือนก่อน
Be aware of the length of the pushrod in the power brake booster and the depth of the cup in the master cylinder. They need to be a matched pair! Otherwise you will have very poor braking. Sloppy Closing Doors? Bush Fix that really works!

Mid 60's and newer GM vehicles all have th3se strikers in the door jambs, and most of them have some sort of bushing that wears over time. Here is a cool way to fix it! Was wishing for some jj peals.
I think she likes you
Other than the surface rust, & some other minor cosmetic imperfections, that car is extrememly clean, & completely viable for a legit restoration!
One of the best built muscle cars ever .
That brings back some memories, a Ziebart sticker and the car alarm lock on the drivers front fender. Haven't seen a lock on a fender in a looooooooooong time.
So it needs $5000 worth of body work and paint and a $20 exhaust manifold gasket to be a 6 fiqure car 🙄
Full Restoration it’s only RIGHT
Nice, interesting options on it, Power door locks but not windows, a/c ect. I suspect the "button" on the lower left front fender was a security system. The gernerally were higher up and used a key much like a soda maching to set them.
Dump the dirt, fix the rust, paint it, get it running and enjoy the hell out of it.
Clickbait
Half its value loss is not a significant amount as this car unfortunately is not highly sought after….
My dad left me 3 of those. I didn’t know they were worth anything. Matter of fact I sold 1 to a friend for $350
Video sucks
Oh goodness. What a stylish brute those were and still are. Kinda like putting a tuxedo on s pro wrestler. Dressed for the ball and ready for back alley throw down.
Was it in the barn or behind it ??
give 175.00 for it if u do good clean up job on it
That car deserves a complete frame-off restoration. The body appears to be completely straight. All the rubber components are probably shot.

Did you notice the trailer hitch mounted to the back bumper this car is a true survivor
Oh yes, it was on the list of stuff to address. He wanted it removed. Thankfully, it was just bolted on and not welded.
Beautiful car the way it sits, always been a fan of the stage 1”s
Have not done this in the past and this is by far the best video for replacement of the turn signal wiring.
Get to the point puto I just spent 3 minutes hearing you whine
I like the patina look really means I don't have the funds to restore it. What ever floats your boat
I had one to same color too
First stop would be maaco
I took my driving test in my parents' nearly new 1966 Olds Toro. Same color etc. It was a beautiful car. Washed and waxed that thing many times. Thanks for the memories. PS I passed the driving test.
Big help, the wire trick worked great and thanks for including the reinstall took my apart years ago and couldn’t remember how it went together. Finally got it back today.
My dad & mom had a 1972 Buick Skylark 2-door with a 350ci motor. It looked almost identical to this car, maybe a lighter blue. The entire family almost got killed in that car while driving to on the Long Island Expressway to my uncle’s house.
No such thing as a cutty its a cuttlass n no such thing as a donk its a chevy impala 🇺🇲
Its always better to do it wen the car is on 🇺🇲
Nice ride 🇺🇲
Hey it mark zuckerberg lol 😂
Hey Adam, glad I found your channel. Definitely enjoyed seeing two unique classics get back in action - especially the Sun Coupe! I have a 72 Sun Coupe that I need to get the retractable top repaired/restored. Do you carry or know of any companies that carry some kind of kit for these tops that I could buy and install before I plan to spend the bigger bucks on a complete restoration? I’d appreciate any resources you’d be willing to share because even on the v8buick forum, there just isn’t much for the Sun Coupe variety of Skylarks regarding the folding rib and wire mounted spring mechanisms, etc …
I'm 7 minutes in.....and I don't see u adjusting the pillar bolts, I'll keep watching
What a beauty! Thanks for sharing
1970 looks way better n i.use to own one back in 1998 1 owner gold white vynal top n white interior black carpet dash n bucket seats pain 350$ here in Northern calif 🇺🇲
Ill bet the lifter bores are not pretty. Extra clearance affects the lifter to cam interface. Also check the crown on the new lifter faces. THAT has been a real source of cam break in failures.
Whoever assembled that engine needs ......
I got a 1972 dont have time to fix up and 100 s of new parts with 455
How could I confirm whether Mini Cooper Parts Paradise and SPARE PARTS SHOP are legit or not?
I can tell you without even looking that both of them are scams.
Paint came out great. Doesent look too bad till you really fix it. What a difference!
For sure! Thanks for watching.
I remember buying my 57 road master off my uncle when I was 14 for 50.00 ran good .
I bet ya he could've put Sea Foam in the fuel and oil and restored some of that noise too. Great job cleaning it off.
The guy who bought it from me got it running well. There was a GIANT hole in the exhaust runner of the head. Head was replaced and all was well.
I've owned both a ram air 69 judge and a 70 GS stage 1 455 Buick !!! Guess which one is still in my garage today !!! (If you guessed JUDGE your correct) !!! The ugly truth about Buick,s at hi RPM,s they couldn't take it and will lose a bearing on #8 cyl !!!
That is why you gear them up, not Rev them up, like some entry level sbc.
@@FrankWebber-n4b ( I corrected the few problem,s BUICK had with there 67-76 V8,S on lost of oil pressure at hi RPM,S )!!! My comment is on the stock V8 and stage 1 motor,s !!!
I’ve had many GTO’s, including a 1969 GTO Judge RA3, 4 speed, that’s why I have a W-30 in my garage! LOL 😂 But they’re all nice cars, love them all, even the Buicks, but for me, they’re on the bottom of the list!
@@Musclecar1972 the RA3 was discontinued in 68 !!! RA4 was 69-75 the only difference was the compression ratio on the later yrs !!!
@@blackwisdom7151 Well, I’m not much of a Pontiac guy, the 69 Judge I had was a Ram Air car, with the mechanical pull under the dash, if it was a 4, I’m even less impressed then, I didn’t have it very long, I actually preferred the 65-67 GTO’s, thanks for the correction. I had a 65 convertible, and a 66 HDTP, a 70 HDTP, and a 71 455 HO T/A, and. 1963 421 4 speed Catalina Convertible with a tri power.Never had a Buick, don’t care for the body styling on them, have had many Olds 442’s, 2 Yenko Canaro’s, one brand new in 1969, and a new WS-6 Chevelle I ordered in 1970. Still have a 1972 W-30 I ordered brand new in 72.
Back in those days, GM built some very good transmissions and some VERY strange and shitty ones! The Flight Pitch and Turboglides were at the head of the shitty ones! The transmissions shops hated them!
I hate them, too! LOL
@@antiqueautomotiveservice Most Turboglides were converted to Powerglide. They made kits to do this. I think you had to use a different starter too. Doubt if parts are available to rebuild a Turboglide or a Flight Pitch?
Those old Buick torque tubes were a bitch yet the held onto them for years!
I really wish they hadn't. It makes me want to sell anything I have with a torque tube and buy something I can work on without blowing the whole damn car apart to get to it.
@@antiqueautomotiveservice The Chevy ones were bad too but not as heavy so,easier to deal with. 1954 was the last year for Chevy.
Wow Adam, this video got popular
That's for sure. Freaking wild. Catchy titles and the right hashtags do wonders.
I lost $1400 to Larson auto parts impersonator to Face book and PayPal and both did nothing. You are on your own
Where are you located? 4 shops kept my car for a month only to return it to me without touching it. My torque balls is leaking so bad. 1949 Buick Roadmaster Series 70, Model 71
I'm in the St. Louis MO area.
Does that paint have to be engine/high temp. paint to keep from cooking & peeling? Do the parts need primer?
