The issue with my Omnichord isn’t that it won’t turn on, because it will, the issue is that it won’t play sound until like 15 minutes after I turn it on. I think it might be a lack of power that’s the issue, because the battery compartment is corroded and is missing a spring, so I can only plug it into the wall. If I clear out the corrosion and replace the spring will it work properly with batteries installed?

This is great content but I wish that instead of having these all old schematics so prominently and easily available there was schematics that were safe on top of the pile. But safe schematics are more difficult to find and regulation between continents also varies. Also, these old schematics should always read with big red letters warning and what's wrong with them. There's nowadays X and Y capacitors for the mains connection, they fail differently when they fail. Also, does the output transformer act as a choke suppressing a lot of the AC hum?

Would it be possible to have this powered by 9v DC as opposed to needing the AC power supply?

Broter you need to show the whole thing , the signal since it comes out of your guitar to the speaker bc if you show only a piece of gear with a red light, well you know how it is , I'm not saying that your little thing is not working or even that it is what you say it is, but it would be a better show watching the whole thing working . Sadly there is a lot of ppl trolling just for content and you know that is true, so whatever it is what is sounding in your video I think it sounds great .

My first tube amp build was a Champ style amp that I built to have a switchable output section. So it can be the stock 6V6 or an EL84 and to switch between them I just added a ground lift switch and made sure each tube has its own grid resistor and proper bias resistors. Plus I added a bright switch on the treble pot, a mid boost on the bass pot and an input level low/high on the volume. And lastly a negative feedback loop bypass switch. That amp is fantastic and I couldn't possibly be happier with it. I'll use it for the rest of my life. The champ circuit is dead simple but so so good. I think every guitar player could benefit from and enjoy a champ in their arsenal. I can even get some great higher gain tones when it's paired with the Klon clones I build that have two channels (one for using the Klon as a clean boost and another to use the Klon as a higher gain overdrive. That's how everyone uses them anyways so I figured I might as well start building some that allow you to switch between those settings with a foot switch. And the channel two/boost has its own gain and level pot). Anyways they are great amps!

I just got one of these... previous owner apparently just wanted to build the modules and case because nothing was wired up inside! So far I can't get the filters or an oscillator (there's 2 in mine) to work but this gives me a good idea of what to listen for while rebuilding it!

You should do more of these. I like the view from when you are driving and you see the headlight at the end on the dirt road, It's a cool perspective.

From a Caper to a Red Islander, thanks. Even though my father was an electrician, I do not generally relate to this type of stuff. I easily quadrupled my 57 year old awareness. I just want to be able to have a language and functional understanding for circuits like this (and I have this exact amp as well). And by the way . . . parasitic oscillations are very desirable when I drive my Kingsley Harlet into a Tone Bender (Soul Bender), that is some of the magic. What does B+ stand for? Are you going to make a video lesson about biasing, because I'm not sure why the crossover distortion gets worse when the plate voltage is higher and the cathode current is low. To get less crossover distortion you lower the plate voltage and increase the cathode current which I'm not sure why it makes the crossover distortion less and less. This is about biasing the output tubes or output transistors

I really want to build one of these! Do you have a video of you building this? If not, could you make one? I like how you turned a negative (the amp not working) into a positive repairing the amp. That was a nice touch. I think most would have edited that out. I cool video.

I have searched You tube many times over the years for Paia synths, yet, this is the 1st time finding this excellent video! I bought a similar Paia rig at a pawn shop for $100 back in the 80s. I added an led light and on/off switch to the keyboard, and rewired the pin connectors from it to a 4-pin jack mounted on the back. I then made up a 10 foot long cable so that the keyboard could be placed further away from the cabinets. Much later on, 4 more single row cabinets were built to house more Paia modules given to me, sans cabinets, plus modules another friend and I made from scratch. A great, and I guess, rare module is the Paia transposer; I can send you a pic if you'd like, or could likely find the manual online. I sold off the Paia sequencers and mixers, as I found them too finicky. I discovered the Korq SQ-1 sequencers to be compatible and much more useful. Plus, I built several passive resistance mixers which are the same space as that Paia mixer, offers 8/2 ins/outs, but with 8 volumes and no pan pots. Anyway, thanks for posting, and I hope that you will post more Paia videos. New subscriber; cheers!

So this works to turn up the audio on an entire video? I edited an hour long video and painstakingly made sure my audio wasn’t in the red but, I must’ve done too much because the audio is way too quiet. Weird cuz it sounded ok in Divinci on my computer.

The beginning part of the solo I always improvise, seeing this helped thanks man

Running the wires through the mounting holes on the resister can melt the wire when the resister heats up Best to use the mounting holes for their intended purpose and screw the resister to a large heatsink

Great video. If someone wanted to build this amp. How would the correct transformers for the power input and for the speaker. What is the ohms for the primary input of the speaker transformer. Interesting that the high voltage from the output going to the heater of the 5y3gt doesn't burn out the 5 volt winding of the output transformer. I know some stuff about electronics, but more then some beginners do. Do you have any information or numbers as to what transformers would work for this amp Thanks for your time.

What I dont get is with what kind of physics tubes can get dc power from same cable that our instrument signal is going on , I know I can put effort and find it online and I will , just sharing what I think most newbies like me will ask too Thx for the awesome video
