    I know im commenting on an older video, but when i to the first part of the Cel Shader not only does the light not affect the Sphere, when i change the color stops what i thought would be a surface of white on the black sphere is like a random glob and i don't know what im doing wrong, I've attempted this several times and im struggling to understand my mistake. Thank You.

    Hi! Great tutorial, however somehow I can't seem to get individual alphas on my leaves like you, it's always some kind of greyish mush although I replicated everything a 100%. Also is there a way to do this in 4.2 since cascade size and cube size are gone in the shadow tab? How else can I get the smooth painted effect

    Great video! Im just curious, how do you go about making a texture group node? Im doing my own texture so would I have to do my image texture to hue/saturation then connect to the principal bsdf then group it and then follow along with 2:28? I never made my own texture group node before.

    anime backgrounds aren't that saturated. they're usually compressed to at most 40% saturation so they don't clash with the characters, which are usually more saturated. it's the little things. the look comes from low contrast and a high black level that's usually tinted, and of course, removal of detail. in photoshop i like giving one or two passes of "remove noise" filter cranked up to max but with sharpening tuned to make it look good. then tweak the colors and it doesn't take much to make any scenery scene look anime.

    Lil confusing because you missed the part where you tell us to plug in the Voronoi texture's "color" input into another color ramp. I was wondering why I couldn't get the same effect then paused and saw at 1:35 where I went wrong XD thanks for this but I hope you do include connector names and nodes in your future videos! just started this series and it's my first time doing materials directly in blender compared to substance painter. it's intimidating but im glad I'm seeing results this way too, enjoyable :)

  • @ICE0124
    @ICE0124 11 วันที่ผ่านมา

    I may be dumb but i would slow down and not have as many jumpcuts as it took me 4 re-watches to finally get a result that looked like yours. The jumpcuts make it hard to figure out what we are looking at while smooth pans can help people orient themselves so their not lost. Like one thing that took me a second to figure out is at 2:30 you told us to duplicate those nodes, okay i got that but then you say just mix them together which is confusing because my first instinct was to go and add a "overlay" node but it wasn't there? But then i realized i had to add a "Mix Color" node and then change Mix to Overlay but that part just got cut out.

    • @ComfeeMug
      @ComfeeMug 11 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @ICE0124 Thank you so much for your input; hearing feedback like yours is super helpful for me to be able to make better content. I 100% agree with you on how the jump cuts and lack of information given for adding a mix color node set to overlay are confusing. I'll continue working on the editing style of future videos and tutorials to make things much easier to understand. And again, thank you so much for your feedback, I really appreciate it 😊
