OMG LMAOOOO YOU HAVE TO GET AIRPODS PRO NOW thats insane i just commented about ur airpods like 1 week ago
I know, I must have jinxed it saying I’ll get AirPods Pro when my AirPods break
If you want to pr try to sign up for a race. I ran 17:27 last summer but wanted to quit halfway through. Could have never finished if I was running on my own through a park
17:27 is just insane. Yes I’m thinking I’ll need an atmosphere to really push me, so a race is a good shout
performance condition basically tells you how ready your body is to workout at that specific time :)
Thank you for telling me 🙏
Keep it up bro ,Do you get your stats from garmin or Strava ?
I used to use Strava but ever since I’ve got my Garmin I get it straight from the Garmin app
Performance condition is a real-time measure of running ability based on pace, heart rate, and HRV. It reflects VO2 max deviation, helping adjust effort and avoid fatigue. I'm doing the same challenge as you, and it's incredibly motivating to see others pushing through it as well. Greetings from Croatia!
Ohhhhh so that’s what it does, thank you for telling me. Good luck with your sub 20 challenge!
@OllieDrieu also for performance condition it provides a score between -20 and +20, with positive values indicating better-than-usual performance and negative values indicating below-average performance. This helps you gauge how your body is responding to a workout, offering insights for adjusting effort levels in real-time.
Good effort lad. 👌 I started running last year, trying to get sub 20. Currently on 21.40. lots of long runs should help me achieve my goal before my 49th birthday this year. 👍
Cheers! Good luck with getting the sub 20
Solid effort, sub 20 for the 5k is absoloutly brutal. I am trying to do one at the moment aswell, hardest thing I have ever trained for.
Yes I massively underestimated how difficult it would be. I'm loving the challenge though
My experience with 5k is that if you want to quit half way in you are on the right pace. An all out 5k is pure torture.
This is absolutely terrifying. I’m trying to prepare myself for the torture
@OllieDrieu try your next attempt and prepair to fail. Failing is ok. But during that run ignore the signs you want to stop. Keep pushing. You will be amazed how long you can push while feeling absolutely terrible. Don't film that run, concentrate on the task and execute.
@@GTE_Channel I've been thinking in the next couple weeks I try a run where I only film the before and after. I'm going to give myself a few more training days though until then
Good video man, I respect the commitment to this. I've been running basically my whole life (I'm 15) and today I did my first parkrun. My previous 5k pb was 22:32, but today I did 22:01. Running is so sick, respect
Thanks a lot, yeah parkrun is actually great for setting 5k pb’s. Something about the hundreds of other people there really make you push yourself
i rat at 23 min then 2 weeks ran a 21:21 now 2 months later im going 4 a sub 20 min 5k feb 1
That’s some fast improvement, good luck with the sub 20
great video! keep on going!!
Thank you!! I’ll try
r. u. r'. u 5x should solve your vertical issues. there's usually two center pieces turned 90 degrees or sideways adjacent to each other (sometimes apart) L R' F L' R U x5. or M U' M' U 5 times (whichever you find easier) find a better turning cube. even with this algo, it will throw you off. make one if you have to. i did have that very same cube two years ago from one of those as seen on tv stores...i tried peeling off the stickers and transfer it to a better cube. i ended up tearing the damn things until i learned how to make my own stickers. The one you are working on is actually a supercube the moment you get everything in the right place.
If you want to start from scratch which is the case, chances are you don't know which is up/white side or down/yellow side. I'd start making a cross regardless of the center. Have all 4 edge pieces whatever the number it is in a vertical form when flipped upside down. All numbers on all 4 sides are viewed vertically. From there you could figure out the corners and solve it in beginner's method. For second layer figure out how to make all edge pieces in a vertical view. For the top layer, fur u'r'f' until you have all 4 edges of the top in a vertical form whatever the number would be. That should give you a visual of the top cross. The real puzzle is on the top layer. It will require you to visualize and translate colors into numbers. If you get it right all numbers should be in their rightful sides and places and will realize that what you were working on is an actual supercube! Better get those algos for solving centerpieces as well. Speaking of algos, get a better cube. That will give you carpal tunnel and will mess up your alog game. Hope it helps.
Your pace is the same as mine i start with the first km being 5 mins and then go up to 4 mins Run long runs slowly to bulid endurnce
Yes that’s the plan my Garmin coach is giving me as well
"3 minutes...Thats really long" Thats the difficulty with this challenge. You make rapid progress but finding that last 45 seconds will take a really long time! Nice tidy splits though! I believe in you
Yes I’m happy with my splits but Jesus Christ it’s going to take me a while to shave off those 3 minutes. I’m prepared for it to take a while though
when u press run and the watch says do workout, view and dismiss. press dismiss. you are not going to do the garmin coach workout. its just going to record your run with gps and everything.
Oh that’s so simple. Thank you!!
that time of the day is pleasant because that area has little to no people. In cities on the other hand...
Definitely. I’ve moved back to the city for uni and already the runs are a lot less peaceful and pleasant
Hello from Australia 👋 quite a lovely video, such beautiful skies!
Hello, thank you for watching from the other side of the world!!
Welcome to manchester, get booked onto manchester half marathon (or marathon if youre brave) theyre absoloutly brilliant events.
I’d love to do the Manchester marathon at some point, although I think it’s meant to be quite difficult to get on so I might start with a half marathon in a place somewhere more quiet
Moving up to Manchester (presume for uni). Welcome to the North ⬆️ I find myself running in Salford pretty often - Nice and flat. Keep up with the training.
You’re right, I’m going back for uni. There’s lots of flat runs in Manchester but mostly I’ll be running in parks because there’s a few near my house there
Channel growing good
Yes growth has been good these last couple weeks
What do you film on?
Just my iPhone 11
WHERE U FROM LIL BRO
I’m from Jersey
I was thinking of getting at Tattoo under my Garmin that said "Too Slow" - I feel your pain but I also enjoy it. Maybe that's what running is...
Hahah that’s a good idea for a tattoo. Might cause a lot of PTSD though…
Welcome to Garmin - Its a constant barrage of insults but that's why we love it
I’m hoping I develop some sort of Stockholm syndrome and start to enjoy its constant bullying towards me
Heart rate over 200 is crazy high for an ‘easy’ run 😂 the performance condition simply is Garmins estimation of ‘how ready you are’ to run, based from the data it’s getting from you. I think it uses your pace and subsequent heart rate to determine if you are in good/bad shape. I think with negative scores they recommend easier workouts, positive scores can be good days to work harder… also you can set the garmin workouts to heart rate based instead of pace orientated. This will mean you can run slower on the hills and faster on the downhills without garmin constantly beeping. It will beep at you if you run too hard on an easy run though 😉
I’ve seen a couple people telling me to change it to heart rate, not pace - I should really change it. And yes it’s very high but I think it’s just that uphill which really brought up my max heart rate. I’m not that worried though I’ve always got a high heart rate when I workout but I feel fine
Hello, talking to you from Spain. I used to run few years ago and for some reasons I gave up. Now that I'm returning to this beautiful habit you are really helping me and motivating me with your videos. I only wantes to thank you for the videos and keep going your are on a good way to archive the objective. Thank you so much!
I’m glad these videos are helping you get motivated to get back into running, that’s part of the reason for why I make them!
Love seeing you run! Keep it up! Can’t wait to watch more 🤍 nice hair cut!
Thank you, will do!
I enjoy these videos. No idea how I came across them. Keep it up.
Well I’m happy you found them and enjoying them :)
I think you easily beat Kipchoge in a marathon
It would be a little too easy. I’d probably have to give him a head start so the final mile is a bit more exciting for the spectators.
Nice one man, loving the regular uploads. If you want to change your watch to kilometres, hold the middle left button, scroll down and click on system, scroll down and click on format, then click on units.
FINALLY!! I’ve sorted it thank you. 🙏
do you have insta bro
No I don’t have a proper insta I’ve set up, just a little one for personal use
@@OllieDrieu send me your handle
I was also confused at first with the interval training. Once the warm up is done go scroll down (the different faces that may show cadence/HR/ speed etc) until you reach the face that shows the layout of the workout then you’ll normally have to click the lower right button to continue to the interval training.
I know it’s quite confusing. Thank you I’ll try this on my next interval training
I can relate to the annoying hair on the run! My hair also bounces around, it's either cap, beanie or sweatband, each for different temperature runs 😂
Hahah I love never tried sweatband. Maybe I should buy one 👀
Who ever "craves a bowl of cereal"........tbf, I craved some baked beans the other day.
I crave bowls of cereal constantly
The setting for changing miles to km is in more > settings > user settings > measurement units. u can preview your wokout before you run. it will show you the pace/time/range .I wore the garmin forerunner 265 btw. love your journey. keep it up man
Thank you I did manage to get it to km luckily. Glad you’re enjoying the series
You could try altering the plan so it tracks your effort by heart rate instead of pace, so then you won't get told off for going to slow uphill
@@robbie6421 thanks for this advice I’ll try giving it a go
Dont take this the wrong way Ollie… as much as I want to see your journey and improvement to your goals, I also really want to keep seeing runs like this 😂
I have a predicament. Having a good run gives me more progress, but when things go wrong… the videos are just better
Good work! How are your strength training? I had some injuries and needed to improve strengthening, recovery (ice) and myofascial release.
Thank you! Not strength training as well as I should do to be honest with you. I really need to start doing more intense training because at the moment I do a lot of bodyweight (and sometimes dumbbell weighted) leg exercises. I probably need to do more complex stuff
Garmin coach and I fell out pretty regularly. I needed to be flexible with my run/rest days at the time, but if I skipped ahead to the long run on Thursday because I knew I'd have time for Thursday's easy run Saturday - but not the long run - then it logged me as having skipped the Thursday easy run! I've recreated some of the workouts it had me doing in workout builder and just add them to my activity on the day now, its much easier.
I think I’m gonna see how my Garmin coach goes and if I run into any problems I might do something like this
Enjoying the videos. Subscribed and following along with your journey
Thank you for subscribing means a lot
Garmin coach is alright I've used it before. The more data it has on you and the more runs you do with the garmin the better the coach will work.
Yes I got a notification saying my workout plan is more adjusted to me after the 2 runs so it’s definitely starting to work
hot guy
Trust me I look terrible in person
@@OllieDrieu nice try
Congrats on that run! I don’t know how you do it 😂 love seeing your progress on running, keep it up!
I’m glad you’re enjoying the series. Once again I do it because I have way too much free time…
@@OllieDrieu I love all your videos and series, free time is nice, I think I need to be more productive with my free time aha
@@CKore_ yeah it takes a bit of effort to make sure you spend your free time right. I’m just always thinking about how this is what I actually want to do, and I’ll thank myself for doing it even if it’s more difficult to start than watching Netflix
blud using airpods in 2024 get airpods pro :)

well done lil bro
Thank you :)
So sad to hear you were ill in the new year, glad you are feeling better though!
Thanks, to be honest it was a good time of the year to be sick, I haven't been very busy
@ Oh that’s nice, unfortunately I got sick a day before Christmas and I was sick up to or around New Year’s Eve, I was off so it was nice I wasn’t missing school.
@ that’s terrible you got sick before Christmas but yeah at least you didn’t miss any school from it
Be interested in seeing any strength and conditioning you do - the knees are my weak point, makes it so hard to build up mileage!
Yes it could be interesting to show what I do for strength and conditioning. I’ll include something about it in my new videos 👍
Who ever said the earth is flat is clearly a lieing bar steward…..
😂 Couldn’t have said it better myself
Training for a sub 20 min 5km aswelll! this is my second attempt at training for it. My PB is 20:02 and I know what you mean when your like how the hell am I meant to do that 10x in a row, it seems impossible but trust the process. Remember the importance of running slower on your easy sessions too! Goodluck ill be following your Journey.
Being 3 seconds off getting a sub 20 would have been so annoying! Thanks for telling me this, I’m hoping those longer training sessions should add up and doing those 10x laps in a row will feel easier
