I believe they stock this lake every year, so always worth a shot. I will say it took me a few visits to get this fish, so don't be disheartened if you don't catch. Lastly, I was using a bait junkie t-tail in a pink colour. On I think a size 1 jig head. The weight I can't remember, but anything from 1/16 -1/8 would be alright.

I get mine from hookup Bait and tackle. They are on Burwood hwy in Ferntree gully. Massive range of bait junkies there. They also have other plastics which would be well suited to fishing places like lillydale and other local stocked ponds.

Usually for trout I'll use fine gauge hooks. Usually TT headlocks but the new bait junkies do go alright.

I agree the bail is thinner however this is by design. The previous reel in this model and other real models have an air bail witch is a hollow tubular bail - this is a solid wire bail so probably uses less material and also lighter.

Hey mate, This rod has not been released for Australian market - I looked on the US website - couldn't find it there either. If its a similar blank to the Aus model I see no reason why it wouldn't do senko fishing or Texas style rig fishing well enough.

Thanks man, It took a bit of effort and work to get done in between having my 1st kid and all that as well but it got done and I'm certainly happy with how it ended up.

Hey mate this is definitely doable as a landbased spot. Plenty of ppl catch bass straight off the boat ramp pontoons also off the bank either side of the tanjil arm ramp. Access is a little more restrictive landbased but worth a go any day. As for trout I'd suggest heading to Noojee and playing around the rivers in that area, loads of options for trout fishing.
