    Wow nice Harvest Wayne well done mate. Firstly those Red Onions look great i always have trouble with Red Onions from Sets to the Seeds, i'll have to try again as we love Red Onions the Brown Onions i don't have a problem with. Good surprise on the Tomatoes and the Sprouts are nicely growing there, some cracking looking Cabbages as well, you are on a roll with your Harvest. The Sweetcorn mmmmmm love it warm with some Butter and Black Pepper on top, now i'm hungry ha ha ha Beetroot i love as did my Mum and i grew some for the first time and i was so happy that i actually grew some Beetroot, as i have always had trouble growing them unfortunately my Mum didn't get round to tasting it as she passed away in 2020 with Dementia so Beetroot always reminds me of her. The Sweet Peas at the end you have loads there i have a small bush that's all dried out now, i just need a sunny day to pick those Pods. Well done again Wayne, you and your wife Stay Safe and Take Care. Barry (Wirral)

      Hi Barry, As you can probably tell I'm very happy with everything I'm harvesting at the moment, the red onions are the best I have grown for two or three years now and I will do them again next year, I haven't got as big a harvest of beetroot as I would like but you cant have everything can you. Thank you for your comments as ever always appreciated. Wayne.

    Nice last few onions Wayne 👍🏻. I can highly recommend the Kelsae plug plants from DT Brown. Had them 2 years now and very happy with Quality. I love Attingham in Spring. One of the best snowdrop displays I’ve seen along the woodland walk. I did an interview with the head gardener about 5 years ago just as they had finished laying the growing beds out in the kitchen garden. She was very welcoming and knowledgeable. I don’t think I ever uploaded it??? May need another visit to check on the greenhouse refurb project. Thanks for sharing 👍🏻

      Hi Nigel, As I said I'm thinking of what to do I will keep looking on the D T Brown web site to see when the plants are available as I think it would be good to try them next year, I think you should put that interview up on youtube and investigate the greenhouses. Thank you for your comment and giving me the right info when I need it all very much appreciated. 👍👍

    Hi Wayne! Nice harvest of Tomatoes. Do you heat your green house? I find it impossible to grow tomatoes no matter what I try. Anyway great job. Regards Dave

      @waynesallotment7757 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi Dave, I don't heat any of my greenhouses, I sow the seeds around the end of March and keep them in doors potting then on once the first true leaves appear, but the best thing to do is to look at MuddyBootz on youtube as he has a range of how to videos, plus if you contact him by email or just ask a question in the comments on his videos he will get back to you. All the best Wayne.

    Hi Wayne great video and it looks like you have had a great harvest as well, those Onions especially the Kelsea ones blimey the size of those ones eh, love your dog wandering into shot when you did the spuds and at the end of the video. As for the beds i noticed while you were mixing everything up shall we say that some of the soil was going over the edges, have you thought about making the edges a little higher say the height of that decking board you put on the top, what's that about five six inches give or take, i have always wondered why you haven't made your beds that little bit higher all around the border, making sure when topping up the compost stays in the beds? Anyway take care and stay safe. Barry (Wirral)

    • @waynesallotment7757
      @waynesallotment7757 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi Barry, Thank you for your comment I have more onions to harvest some of the other Kelsea are very big, as for the beds yes it has crossed my mind to add more boards and I have also thought about removing the boards altogether, I fitted the boards to make the small beds because the ground is very poor made up of a lot of clay, so it made sense to make the beds and put all the goodness in these beds. As for my dog she is a Bedlington terrier and a total star. All the very best Wayne.

    Hi Wayne, great video and your allotment is looking really good the Cauliflowers look really yummy the smaller ones i make a Cheese Cauliflower with them. Your Sweet Peas look amazing mine are nowhere near looking like that. Those Onions look nice and big i still have some from the end of the year so i haven't grown anymore yet. Your problem with the Cucumber and the Peas, all i can think of is something in the soil you have for the Cucumbers as for the Peas i would say the same, but Mother Nature has decided to give you some growth above the dead ones, sorry i'm no help on that really. Those planters were a good steal from Amazon i know what you mean about prices from a Garden Center, i'm sure they put an extra couple of quid on the price. How are your Tomatoes doing? and did i miss the Spud reveal what happened to that? That's me done, all your stuff is growing and looking great so well done on that. Take Care, Stay Safe and Healthy. Barry (the Wirral)

      @waynesallotment7757 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi Barry, Nice to hear from you, the potato harvest you didn't miss I didn't put it in I had some problems putting this video together all my fault as can be seen at the end of the video. I will put it in the next one as for Cheese Cauliflower that is the main way we eat them. I did think along the same lines as you with regards something in the soil for the cucumber but not the peas, the planters I think are a very good buy and to be honest I came across them almost by accident. Be good and its great to hear from you. All the best Wayne.

      Hi Nigel, Thank you for your input, I did think if anybody could tell me what was going on it would be you, yes your right I'm not having much luck but then we are all working with or in some cases against mother nature, what with you and your garlic fail and me with my peas and one cucumber plant I don't think we have a lot to worry about. All the best and Thank you. Wayne.

    Greenhouse is looking quite full Wayne 👍👍. Very odd about the wilt I have a few cucumbers in the same pot and one of them rotted so I put it down to water logging. I think so long as you keep things watered and don't let them get leggy that's all anybody can ask. All the best Wayne.

    Great video Wayne, i wouldn't worry about buying plants from the Garden Center because your seeds didn't grow or gone leggy, i have bought Tomatoes and Cucumbers before now, i even got some Runner Bean plants off the neighbour. What i think is we still have to look after and help to grow those plants on so to me it's the same as if we still grew them from seed, we didn't buy the plant full of Tomatoes or Cucumbers from the Garden Center did we NO!!! so don't worry if you feel bad about buying the Plug plants, in fact i'm expecting at the end of April some Chilli plants, now i have the seeds to grow them myself i just don't have the Greenhouse that they need to be in for the heat, built yet 😂😂Take Care. Hi Barry, Thank you for your kind words, the reason I find it a little hard buying plants is because I always like to grow everything from seed. All the best Wayne.

    I had the same problem Wayne but I went old school thermostat 🌡️ for outside and those small ones for inside. My brassicas look the same 😢😢 I may just buy some starters this time round. Hope everything germinates 🤞, happy gardening 👩‍🌾, Ali ☔️🌦️🇨🇦

      Hi Ali, I do like the new thermometers and I did think of going old school myself, I will look at buying brassica plants next year that way I will get them at a time when I can put them in pots to grow on before going out. All the best Wayne.

    Hi Wayne. Had more or less identical problems. Have done 3 sowings of brassicas. I am convinced it is due to the extreme temperature range we have had. Some days my greenhouse has been 25C+ which makes the plant growth spurt.. next day is rain showers and 12C max That is a huge temperature range for seedlings to handle within a few days. I would think twice of potting the tomatoes in the root trainers. They only be about 2” apart and nowhere for the horizontally leaves to grow without interfering with the neighbour plants. This will force them leggy. Particularly the plants in the centre of the group Although it takes more room I think they would be better in individual pots, then you can adjust the spacing as they grow 👍🏻 Re subscribers… TH-cam quite often will ‘cleanse’ accounts. I think it works by removing dormant and suspect subscriptions. I guess it is to try and combat those accounts who ‘buy’ subscriptions to the channel to try and improve the algorithm.

      Hi Nigel, I am going buy my brassica plants next year that way I will get them at a time when I can put them in pots to grow on before going out, I can understand TH-cam cleansing accounts as for my tomatoes I have put them in the root trainers but I can see what you are saying, All the best Wayne.

    I think dates are more about us being bored 😂😂. But they catch up so it’s all good. My Tim’s Taste of Paradise rarely make it inside they are very similar I would think to Sungold. I potted on mine yesterday. We love beefsteak varieties so I grow lots. Have an amazing weekend, from a pouring rain SW Canada 🇨🇦 Ali 👍

      Hi Ali, I think you are right with regards to dates, as for the tomatoes they are now up and I have put them under my grow lights, these will be potted on around the end of this coming week. All the best Wayne.

    Nice one Wayne you forgot to mention about the other part of the lid though, there are two parts one is the were you can put the lid on and you have the gap, the other part is to turn the lid a half turn and you can have the lid on without the gap. I have them same ones myself and i start off with the lid flat then once they have all shooted up, i turn the lid around to the gap to give it some air flow. Those new root trainers look great but i have mine now that i got from Grown Local and these ones actually come apart so it's easier to get the plant out and they stand alone like yours do, 28 cell £11.99. Sorry to be a pain saying this to you i'm just helping. Take Care. Barry (the Wirral)

    Try bringing you thermometers indoors for a couple of days because when the LCD screens get too cold you won't get the proper display

    And so the seedling shuffle begins 🤭🤭. That’s what I did Wayne went back to just a regular walk out and look thermometer 🌡️. General,thoughts are the seed companies are reusing old seed intermixed with new 😢😢😢. Oh crap if I could get my dog to sow seeds I could sit down and relax 🤪🤪. Some great new kit Wayne, happy sowing and have an awesome week, Ali ☁️🌧️💨💨 🇨🇦

    Nice one Wayne i bet your back was sore the next day with all that digging. I was going to buy some of that Manure from Wickes but wasn't sure about it, do you recommend the stuff, it looks ok? Those grow rings that you mentioned i have some of them for my Tomatoes as well, they are a good idea and work good. Take Care. Barry (the Wirral)

      Hi Barry. I am very happy with that Manure and I plan to use it on the allotment, I'm thinking of putting it into my onion beds and the beds for my French beans and sprouts. All the best and Take Care Wayne.
