Canon 6 DIY front wheel repair
Canon 6DIY: I have two Canon 6Ds, one mark 1, and one mark2, both of their front wheel control dials have become stuck over the years. I think it's a thing with the Canon 6D, and you seem to hear about it a lot. Since I like to tinker with electronics, I thought it was time I attempted a DIY repair on my beloved mark 1 body. If I am successful, (I told myself) I can then make an attempt on my mark2 body. This upload is all about that first attempt to repair my main events camera myself, as the repair cost to get it done by a professional was around £350 UK. Nuts right!… Anyway here goes…

Unboxing: Time to upgrade my faulty Canon M50?
มุมมอง 2554 หลายเดือนก่อน
The time has finally come!… I've been rocking the Canon M50 virtually as an everyday carry since 2018. I use it interchangeably as a street camera with my Canon 6D, and 6Dmk2 which I tend to cycle through month-by-month. I love the quality that the full frame cameras bring, but I always somehow return to the crop frame M50, with surprise and enjoyment. It's a fun little camera! I've used it so ...

Is 20mm a good focal length to use for street photography?… If so, why don't more photographers talk about shooting this focal length? In this episode, we look at my latest purchase, the Canon 20mm f2.8 lens, which has been around since it's release in 1992. WOY!… I've always wanted to try this lens on the streets, but it has had it's fair share of bad reviews on TH-cam, which has put me off up...

Thanks. I tried it on my Nikon 18-200 mm lends and it worked (375F for 15 min). Just to put a comment here based on my materials science background: the process that we have done is called thermal aging. The elongation (flexibility) of the rubber will reduce as the thermal aging time goes. The longer the aging time, the lower the elongation and the rubber will become harder. Another factor is the thermal aging temperature, the higher the temperature, the quicker the reduction of elongation. However, we don't want the temperature to be too high to deteriorate the rubber (oily and burning is not good) and we do want to age too long to make the rubber shrink too much and lose its flexibility. So my suggestion for fixing the loose rubber lens-grip is to set the oven at 350-375F and start from 5 mins. I will put the rubber right to the lens while being hot, allowing it shrinks on the lens to see if it fits. Repeat the aging process (for a longer time) if necessary till you are happy.

HI ya. MPB are a great outfit (except for their illegible logo, oh lawd) and the expectation of a packages arrival, even though you know what the contents are still raises a smile. I am glad you big up your kit lens it will make the camera snobs get their knickers in a twist. I bought a 18-55 with VR that is lightweight; tack sharp, cost peanuts and works great with my Nikon 300S. And, like yourself, I like APSC as it meets my needs. "Hi ya. The Dunning-Kruger effect is what you have in mind, also know as "Damn fool syndrome" :-)) It is a couple of years since you made this video and you may of returned to the subject, however, I would say the situation is still prevalent. There are those who shot film and like the weight, which is reassuring in the hand, and optical viewfinders too. DSLR's are a variation on that theme as far as they are concerned, they still have character unlike the mirrorless cameras that have amazing tech but are soulless. Cost is a factor, as you said, and I got hold of a Nikon 300S with a low SC, a short zoom, battery/charger and shipping with change from two beans. The key factor for me is that DSLR's still give good results for beginners are those with more experience with both groups feeling good about themselves as a result. Enjoy the rest of your day.

@@lifetimesofamultiplemediam1003 You know I liked your point that wide lenses are underutilized in street photography. Especially wide primes. Myself, I find it a LOT easier to use tele lenses to compress the scene and isolate my subjects. It is really challenging to do this with wide angle, especially primes since you have a lot less control over the composition. My next purchase will be a wide angle prime, around the 18-30mm range, because I want to improve my technique in that regard.

I shoot Fuji, Nikon and Canon and love them all. Clearly the 5D classic has a similar character to the Xpro1 from Fuji as they both were using "film" as their basis for comparison; being so old. I think/thought he means moved away from film being the basis for comparison in the resulting image. Fuji being a film company still uses film as the benchmark (Hence Xtrans and film emulations); the other manufacturers seemed switch from that to try and fight Sony and emulate them... but that is just my view.

@@troyflatland5299 For me & again I say for me my Canon images began to look a bit more computerized! To robotic, they lacked character! I’ve been a photographer for over three decades. Photography wasn’t just about capturing images but telling a story! Film use to do that and Fuji renewed that creative juice in me and my images. Not to mention the cost of RF glass and lack of alternative options! Please don’t go down the rabbit hole of adapting my old EF glass. I did for a while but if I’m changing to their new system why would I want to continue with old glass. Again to each as own. Fuji is small enough that I don’t attract extra attention, glass is affordable and there are plenty of bodies to choose from. Not to mention a wide selection of glass! Sorry I didn’t mean to be so long in the tooth! Happy shooting.

I bought the XF300 in 2014. It has good dynamic range, but the autofocus is not great. Also it has an 5.23 mm x 2.94 mm sensor, therefore those blurred focus effects are not pretty. But with that small sensor you get great zoom capabilities. It does not crush the blacks like the Canon 5D. Low light areas have plenty of information. Frame rates are limited to 60 fps in 720P and 30 fps 1080p (60 fps 1080i).

Two different cameras for two totally different purposes. XF300 for Electronic News Gathering (ENG), Canon 5D for arty, inde filming, or general purpose photography. Love them both in their prospective fields.

I just purchased a CHINON CS with a CHINON 55mm f/1.7, CHINON 135mm f/2.8 & CHINON 35mm f/2.8 for $58 U.S. I plan on shooting on my M42 camera bodies with film and get the M42 to Eos M adapter for my M50.

I'm planning to mod my EF-S 55-250mm for using it with a speedbooster to increase the aperture, although I'm not sure if that would decrease the IQ though. Have you tested this mod with a speedbooster? How's the IQ? Thanks

Very nicely built amp. You could also carefully cut the Cap cans open and restuff them with the caps you put underneath. We commonly do that when restoring old radios. There are a lot of good videos on how to restuff caps cans. If you're going to get some spaghettis tubing spend a little more and get Teflon it doesn't melt from soldering heat. Was it worth it you ask? In my book it was totally worth it.
