I have the Tamron 24-70 f2.8 G1 on my RP, quite happy with it.

Fun and interesting video mate. I use the 24-105 on my 5DMii, but not a fan of the noisy image stabilization in the video mode, but the sharpness, or lack of is not really an issue . Keep up the excellent show👍

NOTICE: - I have a problem develop on my Canon 24-70 f4 lens a few weeks ago, it started making a funny grinding sound, and I kept intermittently getting Error 1 on the screen. After checking online, it seems it might be a thing with the Canon 24-70 f4 lens, as I've seen loads of people reporting the same fault with it. I've just been quoted almost the same price as it cost brand new, to get it fixed at my local repair shop, as Canon no longer repairs these! What a rip off!… I kind of expect Canon to do some kind of a recall, and not just wash their hands of this problem, which looks like some kind of manufacturing issue!… They should have a recall and fix these lenses under warranty. I've only had my copy for seven years, and I don't even use it that often. Ironically it's the only lens that I've bought brand new, and it's the only lens that I've had a fault on!… This is NOT cool Canon!… I might have to do a video on it!… 🤨

To briefly answer the title of your video: 24-70 f/4L is better.
Longer answer: depends on your preferences and requirements. If it were me, I’d prefer the version II, f/2.8. But, I don’t like the 24-70 zoom, I’d much prefer to have a couple primes instead that would offer better optics and usually faster too. 😃

Going back? Nahhh Nope Nada. Every move forward has been better. Hated 4.0 lens. I have 24-105 Sigma with a speed booster and it adds a stop of light or 2.8. Primo.

My reply would be that you have not yet reached your turning point!… F4.0 will not suit everyone, as for me, I'm more often than not shooting at f8.0, maybe f5.6 if I'm lucky. As you can probably tell, I'm not in the least a shallow DOFist! Most of that blur I consider to be overrated for what I do, which is mostly ENG news type stuff.

@@lifetimesofamultiplemediam1003 I am in ENG and Cinema looks. So, I understand. 4.0 was always to bright for me may be not in ENG. Your photos were nice ...

I can say I had a C100 MK II years ago but didn't film with it much. I always said I did not give it a chance. It has a great image but missing a few things I wanted. That's the only thing I look back at and say what if.
