I feel like the Fusilier was an attempt to balance out the CAFE emissions requirements, for example where the total of all cars produced by a manufacturer had to meet certain environmental standards - but it's still a better business decision to stop production on something that has waning interest. I'm personally not an EV fan, but I'm sure that I would have gone to test drive one...

Hi Dave - I think my difficulty comes from the transition from a vehicle that had great visibility as I did used to drive larger Rovers and things that made me sharpen my side mirror expertise. I appreciate your encouragement and will likely improve since I'm still pretty new with the Grenadier. I still may consider the rearview camera/mirror, but have also heard that they have their pros and cons as well. Thanks for your comment.

Thanks for your question. I did not buy an extended warranty for 2 reasons. First, the Grenadier currently comes with a 5yr/60,000 mile warranty in the US, and 2nd I learned long ago that you can always buy an extended warranty later on - just as long as you get it BEFORE your factory warranty expires. So, I generally decline the warranty at time of purchase, and if I decide that I want to keep the car long-term, buy a warranty to extend in the month before my factory warranty expires. If I buy one, I get it through the manufacturer as opposed to the ones they try to sell on TV (which means you have to contact an authorized dealer for the brand - I've done this on the phone for other cars and price compared a few dealers as you do not need to buy the warranty from your original selling dealer). You want to ask for the finance manager when you are ready to buy and let them know you are shopping. Learn about the mileage and deductibles that may be offered so that you can compare apples to apples. And yes, the price will be more if you wait and buy your warranty 5 years after you bought the car, but you won't have wasted that money if you decide to part ways with the car early. It takes about a week to get used to the steering and then after that when you get into other vehicles their steering feels weird and difficult. Mine has no inside noises bells or warnings anymore since the software upgrade. Of course here in Australia we don't get that stupid ADAS system.

Thanks for your comments. While I have heard about the steering bolt issue - I believe it was a very limited occurrence. I'm remaining optimistic that they'll tune things as much as the regulations will allow, so I am patiently waiting for that. The steering feel is something you'd adjust to after driving for a short while - I freaked out after turning my first corner, but then figured it out pretty quickly. I rather like the feel if it weren't for the wide turning radius. It will be interesting to see if they keep steering as-is, or slowly migrate towards more on-road driver-friendly behavior.

LOL - thanks for your comments. That's me: doors and locks, and sometimes I'm locked out on the wrong side! I'm finding that the bulk of my frustration list looks like it will fall on the regulatory side - and I thought the INEOS was aiming to keep tech low - but I think they threw their hands up and included ADAS as standard in the U.S. more because they had to.

@@MyAutomobileObsession Ya, I watched an Ineos engineer who said their goal was to have minimal tech but comply with the requirements of every market they are selling in with the same car. Makes since to keep it simple at start up and not have multiple cars for different markets even though their are some differences like the steel bumpers we get and the SOS link we don’t. Thanks for the content and I hope you enjoy your Grenadier as much as we are. By the way don’t forget to get it dirty.

Thanks for your comments - you are taking the words out of my mouth. I am intrigued with the tech side, but an EV is an impractical choice for me at best. Besides, I stress out if my phone battery looks low - can't imagine having that with my car!

Thanks for commenting. I do miss the air suspension and frankly used it a lot when I was sitting in traffic as it gave me that extra boost to see past the car in front of me! Only my first Range Rover ('95) had regular issues with it needing repair, but subsequent models I owned never had issue. The Grenadier feels so much like my old Land Rovers - so I do miss it, but I think the clearance is actually pretty good as-is.

Thanks for commenting. I believe the 2025 will be substantially similar to the 2024 - perhaps a few more kinks worked out, but no major changes for at least another year. The 2024 will likely cost you less (INEOS just took a price increase that will impact 2025, not sure about 2024's), but as you mentioned this is a long term buy, so don't take one off the lot unless it has everything on it that you desire (color/options). The wait isn't going to be as bad as for those waiting for the original batch, and it will give you some time to plan and dream of all the things you will do with it once it arrives. I don't see you going wrong with either. Good Luck!

I am surprised to hear this, but perhaps Toyota dealers in Greater DFW area think they don't need the customer boost that the Costco Auto program gives them - that may be changing soon as oversupply is coming back. I might suggest that you call the Costco Auto program on the phone 800# and ask them to help you find the nearest Toyota dealer in your state and then you can determine if it's worth a drive. You might also see if other programs have local participating dealers such as the Auto Club. Good Luck!

Thanks for this comment! I knew that there were reasons behind the overspeed warning, but was unsure as to where they were coming from. The ADAS features are standard equipment in the U.S., so unavoidable. Thank you for filling in some of the blanks!

Thanks for your comment. All points of view are welcome and of course, I have bias or I wouldn't have taken the gamble on the Grenadier. Your point on essentially 0 miles is spot on, but I had a Range Rover that lasted 24 miles before it had to be bought back by the dealer, so my video is mainly to say it as I see it from day one - with few miles on the clock. I'm not the type to put 100K miles on a car, but I do hang onto the ones that I like - so let's see if my 'like" for the Grenadier lasts long term...

@@MyAutomobileObsession To me it felt like my 1991 300 Tdi HCPU. much lighter brakes and clutch, but certainly 20 years behind the competition. And the price point is pants, to me it's for the crowd that can afford to have 4 other cars to actually use.

I topped the tank off at my first opportunity so that I could begin to measure this, but haven't finished up my first tank of gas yet! My computer currently says that I am averaging 15.1mpg, but I'll be tracking and reporting on this after I get a few miles on the clock. Thanks for asking!

I had a chat with my dealer service manager since posting this video, and the incorrect info is coming from the head unit which the compass is connected to. Apparently there is an issue that INEOS is aware of and a fix is in progress. Thanks for commenting!

Thanks for commenting. The more I drive it, the more normal it gets - it's that initial surprise that seems to catch everyone. So, for me the return to center isn't really an issue. Just wish it had a little tighter turning circle!

Thanks for your comment. I just heard that we are due for a software update next month, and I hope it resolves things that I can tell are software related - but annoying nonetheless. I agree with your one speed warning setting (here in California we generally set them to 80) but I'm a little less inclined to drive that fast in my Grenadier...at least not yet!

Thanks for your question. I would contact INEOS North America through the website to ask this question. I see that they have plans to be in Mexico, but the information I saw was old and not up to date as it said 2023. They should be able to provide you with an answer.

Thanks for your question. No, Costco has you go to the dealer to meet and at that time you will be shown pricing. It's part of their deal with the selling dealers that they bring customers in the door, so expect to go into a dealer in order to see pricing. That does mean that you can do a little homework regarding pricing online before you arrive, so that you'll understand how good (or not) the Costco negotiated pricing is. Good luck!

Agreed! I think that they have a little work to improve on their process, but in the end it was easily solved. But certainly something to be aware of.

My dealer had forgotten to add screenwash! I first thought the warnings were a computer glitch… until I checked and there was no screenwash. Got a « sorry », we’re all humans…

I did hear back from my dealer and I will eventually have it replaced, but it's not a standard part available in the parts network, so it has to be ordered from the factory. I'm fine to wait as long as I eventually get it corrected. As for the SiriusXM, you'll be great with your own streaming services - just let the dealer know not to bother turning it on.
