Installing the best handlebars on the market for Indian Scout Bobbers. They have BAR IN wiring meaning all your wires and are hidden instead of exposed and visible except for the clutch and brake cables obviously. Ask me any questions in the comments.

Introducing the 2021 Indian Scout Bobber
Did The clutch and brake cables have to replaced or stock cables are enough?
@@MouKiKus everything else fit stock, except for the bar end mirrors. Which I now run with no mirrors
Did it come from factory with that color?
@@RustSQUIDFACE yes matte black, i dont think they make that color option anymore. But im not positive on that
Hi just purchased same yr/model Idle feels high im coming from a suz 650 so maybe thats why Any suggestions I’m a tad nervous
Congraulations on the best purchase of your life! Based on what i read from manufacturer they are higher revving engines and are comfortable from the 3800-4600 range. Atleast for cruising around or going with flow of traffic. But id say regularly now that my engine is throufh the break in part im anywhere from 3600-5200 rpms for any given gear. 1st gear gets me from 0-25 2nd 25-40 3rd 40-55 4th 55-70 5th 70-85 6th 85-120 Again these are rough estimates for cruising. But i can get up to 80mph in 3rd gear when ur giving her hell and accelerating quickly. Somewhere either online in a reddit forum or in the manual itself they list what each gears range is for mph. Definitely dont be "lugging" this engine. As you may have also noticed even at high rpm the bike barely vibrates for me, its loud but never feels like every harley ive ever been on
What would happen if you use normal water and dry out in the sun?
Water marks everywhere. Which is more noticable on matte black paint. Still would see it on a gloss black but not as visible. Or if u have higher quality water where ever u live coming out of your garden hose, sink, ect
hi - great video, thanks for sharing. Took some of the learnings before installing the bar end mirrors and indicators to the same handlebar. Question I still have: what spacer did you use on the right hand side making sure, that the bar end mirror is a few mm apart from the throttle (not to tighten to it, so throttle can be twisted freely while bar end mirror remains in place) and the light is tightened exactly same position as the 2-LEDs facing the front and the single one to the back. I am back and forth on this and struggling to find the perfect match. I am using also installing the Motogadget turn signals and bar end mirror.
I didnt use a spacer, but later i went to a better handlebar that did not have space without gurther customization to fit the bar end mirrors and bar end indicators, so for over the last two years ive done away with the mirrors completely. Which honestly i love. Never going back to mirrors on this bike unless im getting ticketed. If u want it to fit without touching the throttle grip, u may need to dhave off a little bit of the throttle side handle/grip. Or find something that can act as a spacer as ur question implied
@@convertableburt thanks, will certainly consider to amend the grip by 1/2mm or so… I went for the cruiser ‘mirrors’ and love them to the moon and back.
@@SirQpi as long as ur enjoying ur motorcyle, im happy! 👍😁
Yes please. Song name?
Are these higher than the stock bars?
Maybe an inch or two. But not much higher. I beleive they make an even taller set of v line(in bar wiring) handlebars that you could purchase as well. But i like the lower style myself
I have a tu250x model 2001. I got it from an old man. It has done about 7,300 parts so far and it is in excellent condition.
What's this "bobber" you keep mentioning? Your present bike, I know, but what is it?
This tu250x is not mine, borrowed it. The 2021 indian scout bobber is mine, and often they are referred to as bobbers. Is this what your asking?
that is looking really clean!
Watching this video is making me want to learn to ride even more…especially how easily you navigate the idiot drivers…something I can’t do when in my car without breaking the law (undertaking - so passing a car in the slower non overtaking lane is illegal here in the UK) and I’m forever stuck behind people who don’t know how to use the overtaking lane. In my local suburb and in London, so many are on their phones or distracted by their in car entertainment they never go when the lights change, or leave massive gaps to the cars in front…etc etc etc…getting a bike for me to pootle around on is now becoming more and more appealing, if for nothing else just to safely get ahead of the idiots in metal boxes. Great video mate and an even better bike. Ride safe 🙏🙏😎
What bar end mirrors are those?
www.amazon.com/Motogadget-m-view-Spy-bar-mirror/dp/B07KGHMVN7?crid=25NENOMAHJ65T&keywords=motogadget+bar+end+mirrors&qid=1650734796&s=automotive&sprefix=moto+gadget+bar+end+mirrors,automotive,107&sr=1-8&linkCode=sl1&tag=w3112290-20&linkId=f265493bf3c8acdac6466ec4800312d5&language=en_US&ref_=as_li_ss_tl
But im curious what you plan to hook them onto, if your doing the stock handlebars you may need to move the grips and such in a little bit to make space for the lower profile bar end mirrors. But if you intend to do the same tradk v line handlebar like mine, unless you get the handlebars custom extended a little, you wont have enough clearance for bat end lights and mirrors, you'll have to choose between bar end mirrors or lights. Hopefully this makes sense. Feel free to send pictures. I may not be able to help any, but still always interested in others peoples bikes and mods
@@convertableburt imma keep the turn signals stock for now. I plan to do the wrap around fork turn signals. So these lower profile bar end mirrors you have should work great with the v-line handlebars? Not sure where you bought yours, but I see ss customs have them for $320
@ryanjarrell4359 so they will fit on the trask v line handlebars, but you'll need to extend the bars metal about a half an inch for them to sit on the bar end. If you've take off your stock mirrors, you will likely see that the chrome/silver part is just screwed into the stock handlebars, and that they arent one peice of metal. Same with the trask handlebars, they will need some extension to accommodate the space needed for the bar end mirrors to clamp down. Another option which is cheaper, would be pull off the grips and cut them a little shorter, thus making space for the mirrors to clamp around the metal. Or buying grips that are same diameter for the bars, but also slightly shorter, again creating the extra space needed. In my video we see the bar end mirrors on the trask v line, and with bar end lights. I only kept this way for a few months, for two reasons: One the mirrors weren't as tight as id like because they couldn't fully compress around the metal as much as id like, and thr bar end lights helped hold the mirrors in place. As result of this when accelerating with the right grip and enough wind, my mirror straight up turned a couple times on me. And secondly, i like the feel and look without the mirrors on there, and ive gotten use to turning my head completely for every lane check i do. Sorry to make it sooo long
@@convertableburt oh okay, I see what you are saying. And the stock mirrors will fit fine on the v-line hand bars yeah? You have been really helpful, I appreciate it.
I want one so bad!
Get one! Or if you're nervous about it. Get the scout twenty bobber. With kess power and smaller engine. Then you could get the engine bore kit done later on, which makes it faster than the stock bobber or scout
Im 6.1" 240 pounds (and I have a dodgy back). I test rode the bobber and my back was stuffed for 2 weeks. I loved the bike so much though I'm going to order one with comfort upgrades and hope for the best. Running purely on emotion at this point in time :)
6'1" 240, what are you, a box of tungsten haha. I bet you won't regret it unless all ur trips are very far. With the comfort stuff, it may be tolerable for distance though. Let us know how it goes
1) so the motoblaze thread fits the indian oem bar thread? 2) any way to drill the bar while fitted (so without removing it?)
Hi am thinking between dean speed low ball and trask v-line to choose. Please recommend which one to go for (as none of them are in my country and cant see in real life). Im 183cm tall and stock handlebars from indian are low for me (hurting back on long rides). Also I’m gonna to use it together with quarter fairing and this even complicates my choice. Thanks!
Neither will not resolve your discomfort overall in the ride as neither are going to be significantly higher than stock, my V line handlebars onky feel like two or three inches higher, and definitely wider so still reaching just as far. So if it's a comfort of rising position you're looking for, I'd recommend an even higher handlebar with more length that makes the reaching distance shorter for you. If you're committed to the look with the v line or low ball bar, then you'll have to get used to the sore back. Or my final reccomended action would be keep the bobber looking great with the low bars and use it for short cruises and day to day driving and then get another comfy bike for longer trips, currently trying to get another two bikes right now, its an obsession. Hope this helps. Again, it's your bike and do what makes you happy
I'm debating this or a triumph bobber
Not a bad dilemma to be in, haha u cant go wrong with eithet decision
Do you not need to cover anything like the air filter?
Nope, not that im aware of having to do. Should have a cover already
Great video, Awesome bike, and Thanks for The information!!!
Thats a lot of dive equipment
Haha happen to work at a dive shop, and the owner nice enough to let me use the space at times
Like about how much was it with taxes rn it’s like 13,146 how much more should I expect I’m having trouble deciding if I want to buy it used or new because used cost almost the same which sucks the bike is amazing my local dealer is iMotorsports in Illinois it’s amazing inside 😅
that's proposing but my biggest gripe is a 3 gallon gas tank take you a little over a hundred miles you better like riding alone
That is one of the downsides, but it's an upside if u want everyone to see u every time u fill up. It's like an experience every time just to get gas. It is also called the bobber so not designed as the travelers bike
I bought this exact light for my scout bobber and for some reason the low beams won’t work..I turn my bike on and nothing happens I have to flip the high beams on for the light to turn on..I don’t know why??
Sounds like a wiring issue more than likely
Looking to get these same ones for my road glide
Will this void the factory warranty on the wiring?
Im sure for the wiring portion, but i dont see how my rewiring for this project would change the wear of the engine or gear box or any other mechanisms u really want under the warranty. All that being said these things are very tough and most of the wiring was simply putting back the way iy was after connecting the two extra wires to the already existing ones for each side of the handlebar. When i asked my dealer he said that if what u did to customize cause the problem of the claim for warranty then they may not cover it. So i guess for this one, i dont see how my lighting/wiring should affect the real components i really want covered
Hey great looking bike!!...I am getting ready to install the same. Question for you; how are the mirrors attached? is it clamping down on largest black spacer as shown at (0:15). Did a dry fit and it will not hold, wondering if screwing the indicator lights down into the handlebars will expanded the diameter of the spacer to allow it to clamped down securely.
I just used pressure of the left grip and the bar end light. Has to be tight or wind will move it back. On the throttle side i did same but made throttle sticker than stock and intended control. I personally a month or two later just took my mirrors off and i honestly love it anf dont know if ill ever put mirrors back on it, cleans it up even more. But if u want to keep the mirror, i suggest trimming or sanding down the throttle grip by a few centimeters and using the brass o ring that came with those mirrors to clamp down directly onto the metal bar. U would probably want to do same on other side too then. More work but it would be even and match that much more. Again i did not do this, but it was an option until i fell in love with no mirrors after a week of riding. That combined with the already minimalist front end, nothing feels as open or real of a ride to me. Question to u though, are u keeping original handlebar or v line trask like i am on this video. If ur using stock bar the brass clips should go right around the stock ones and they have enough length where u likely wouldn't need to shave grips at all. The trask ones only have so much length of clamp-able circumference. Hope this helps lmk with more info
@@convertableburt Plan on keeping the original handlebars. So originally your mirrors were clamping onto the spacer and pressure from the lights screwing in held it in placed? if not secured enough then the wind was moving it? The throttle side would be an issue. I currently have the heated grip and dont know if i can shaved the grips at all since there maybe wires within the rubber.
@@gon44sec well if ur keeping original bars then as long as the heated grips dont impact the mirrors, there should be enough length to just move the grips in a bit on each side so there is enough space for the brass ring and clamp for mirror
@@convertableburt Thanks for the replies back man!!
@@gon44sec yessir. Good luck!
Nice video! I'm a Wisconsin native myself. Transplanted to Virginia. I just purchased a TU250x, picking it up next week in North Carolina. Wish me luck!!!
Incredibly helpful, thank you!! Been too scared to wash my 22 mt because I didn't want to ruin the paint, this was a perfect explanation and demonstration.
Amazing!
Love the TUs reliability and classic looks..
I got mine brand new back in early 2020 with no license yet, it was my first bike. My bro drove it home for me from the dealer. I did have dirt bike experience but never ridden a street bike. 14k miles on the Speedo now and counting. To anyone looking for a first bike, I highly recommend it. Shifts smooth, handling is easy and it’s low to the ground so you can get on and off with ease . I bought the manual and have maintained it on my own (fork oil change etc) you can too. After a few months of riding you wish it had more power but it’s enough to have lots of fun with. If you are deciding to get one, just get it.
Could not agree more, and if ur looking for more speed after u get it, go buy a used R1 so u dont cry yourself to sleep if u were to slide on the used R1
💯💯👍👍

Nice Fact about the Indian Engine is they are Swiss Made by the Company SWISSAUTO in Burgdorf BE/ Switzerland :) Can't wait to get mine in 3 Weeks.Greetings from Switzerland
The 22 exhaust shield color is whatever one you want. The 22 I was gonna get was black. I ended up with the 22 scout rogue. A little more $ but worth it
The seat the handle bars the shocks all suck on the scout bober replace thoes and you got a sweet ride. Floor boards are a must.
Appreciate the feedback, but im guessing by all of these suggestions, you are over the age of 40 or have poor posture/weak back thus needing an easier ride. If you want a touring bikes ride get one of them big harleys and wallow around, bobber is meant for looks and going like hell when you wanna race
@@convertableburt facts are facts. I own a 2021 scout and a 2021 scout bober. I've been riding since I was 5 and have never liked a rough ride. I have rode light cruisers since I was 20.
@@raytycker1656 "facts are facts", does that mean i was accurate about ur age/preference? Everyone's allowed to have their own look for yheir bike, got any pics of yours?
@@convertableburt sure every one has the right to have their bike the way they like. Yes I'm over 40 but I'm saying it was no different when I was 20. I rode a 700 shadow while a lot of my friends were into the bullet bikes. If you want a good ride out of the scout you have to upgrade.
@@raytycker1656 i get your point, and i have had friends whom have tried my bike and say the seat is too uncomfortable for them, but ive yet to notice or feel discomfort from the seat or handlebars apart from when i go on a long road trip, which i get cooped up in my car after two hours anyways, most of my riding is less than an hour. Minimalist looks best to me, so ill probably avoid the floorboards, i have been looking into smaller pegs though.
I'm watchin this cause I'm gonna hopefully order my scout bobber this Saturday if not next Saturday, thanks for this review, it helped set my mind on this bike
U will not regret it

Sadly, those reflectors are actually required by law in most states. So you may be looking at a ticket in the future. Indian Scouts all look good to me and will be in the garage by the end of next spring if not sooner :) Ride safe.
The best part of taking the reflectors off your motorcycle is to make you invisible to other vehicles. Who doesn't love to get T-boned by a 10,000 lb truck.
Sounds good
I’m about to buy one of these

Great review! Just passed the MSF on a GZ250. Other students had this one and the seat is a little higher which I prefer for my height (5'9"). Leaning towards getting a used TU250x or the Rebel 300. Haven't decided yet.
I had the V&H slash cuts and then I switch 2-1 two brothers exhuast. Even though the slash are slip on., they were loader
Get a bicycle and take it around the block, riders and bikers ride free with no complaints. “You’re a no no to the scout bobber”
So, clickbait title then.
More like an Asterix belongs at the end. Just go buy one hahaha
After doing some math calculations, I'd say you were going 135 lol, my drz 400 did 132
Very nice
Bobber lacks top speed? Is it governed or just weak sauce?
Its limited top speed, u can tune them higher end or remove limiter, its definitely not weak sauce, the bike is insanely quick and im struggling to keep my butt on the seat, just all the torque is lost around 100, i no longer feel as strong of pull at very high end speeds, sometimes I want an r1 or something with more top end speed. So yeah i guess it lacks top speed, but to be honest, ive never felt the same excitement or open road experience on any other bike, no fairing or mirrors is the most exposed position and it feels like ur going 80 @55
