You really want to get to know a mushroom before you start eating it :) When and where it grows, make a spore print to see what color the spores are, check for color changes when you cut or handle them. Also good to go out with someone experienced a few times, all before eating something. You'll save your own life by doing so : )

Hey there! So a "test tube" study of the methanol extract of damiana showed aromatase inhibitory activity. Aromatase is an enzyme that makes estrogen from testosterone. On the other hand, the same study demonstrated estrogenic activity (again, test tube study). These sorts of studies can be more-or-less meaningless with respect to what happens in the body, in part because throwing an extract (including one in methanol, which is toxic) on some enzymes in a tube doesn't reflect the digestion and transport of the herb in the body and the many ways its components can be otherwise modified in a person.

That stalk is FULL of tiny seeds after it turns brow, carefully cut the stalk keeping it uoright so not to loose many seeds, that use a sheet placed on the ground or floor, gently shake or peck the stalk untill all the seeds fall to the ground, collect and spread on the ground come early spring preferably during rainy weather.

Hi there! The toxic Rubroboletus has a very different coloration than Rocky Mountain Red when you can look at the whole mushroom. For instance, the former has a red pore layer, a red stalk and stains strongly blue. Rocky Mtn Reds (Boletus rubriceps) has a pale stalk, sometimes with rose tint, it doesn't stain blue, and the pore layer starts white when the mushroom is young, then goes yellow, then finally turns an olive green/yellow in the fully mature fruiting body.

Lol funny start to the video about your iphone. I heard the iphone really is best for doing videos with but ive never liked them, ive stuck with the andriod system and have found my s10plus still works great. Im just starting on my singing nettle planting. Not too sure where im going to plant it though, ive got an almost 9yr old boy and all the neighborhood kids who are in our yard playing, and theyre just all over the place no matter what i tell them, so im probably going to do it in a pot that i can keep close to my front porch and perhaps even up on a shelf. Any tips on growing this in a pot, size, type of pot, placement? Youve not been uploading any videos lately, i was looking forward to more from you. I do see all your mushroom videos which i love, thats a whole other world too, goes deep and could be never ending im sure. I truly believe mushrooms are like love, theyre like the cure to all humanity's mistakes and flaws, fungi magical. I ate mushrooms one summer when i was 25yrs old, everyday for 3 month's and it altered everything, every way I saw and experienced the world, (probably wasnt so super for my kidneys) but was enlightening and expnaded my personal growth and understanding of our connection within earths onenness. This was a moment in my life ide set out to find myself after a break up with my junior h sweet heart. I quite my job took a break from college, sold my car and went festival hoping cross country. I didnt plan on eating only mushrooms for 3 months nor do i recommend anyone doing that, but it surly has got to be the 1 thing i think every human must try at least once in theyre lifes and I sware if everyone did do that, wed have peace on earth finally.

They're so tiny so as to not be worth gathering. The size of my pinkie tip and smaller! There are traditional uses documented but none of the contemporary herbalists I know use them currently....

Tok, Ak. Arctic conditions. Seen -80F in the winter. Still grows plentiful amongst the horsetail in the sandy loamy marsh near creeks in the summer. A late bloomer for sure, usually spotted while hunting seasons during the late summer months. Now im curious to gather a few good ones, they get giant here, 15in "wing" span haha.

The smaller ones supposedly taste better, though they taste the same to me : )

@@annamarijaheltphdherbalist800 just stating they get as big as the biggest up here to no detriment of arctic conditions. I only took notice last fall amongst the boletes that are more well known.

@annamarijaheltphdherbalist800 not as bad as the everglades, infact from my wildland firefighting in alaska, im well versed in them, first come the big goofy squitos in the spring, there big and slow and dont fly away when you swat them on your arm, they will just sit there and accept death. Later in the summer its like a whole other species comes out, half the size, twice as fast and incredibly with a sense of urgency to get blood and not die; the same one will be landing on your for an hour, jumping off as soon as you twitch. those are the ones alaska is notorious for other than the no-see-um's (gnats)
