Thanks so much for watching! Make sure you're searching for Ophiocordyceps sinensis rather than Cordyceps...they changed the genus name. And look for it as cultivated mycelium...the main form available commercially (You likely know that the wildcrafted fruiting bodies are immensely expensive. I actually use militaris...easier to get and does what it needs to do for me :)

@@annamarijaheltphdherbalist800 oh!, ok, thanks for responding. So, the militaris does the same good stuff for the kidneys as the sinensis do?. I am interested in improving my GFR numbers, currently in the 60s.

@@notforever123 You're welcome! As far as I know. Here's a small study to geek out on (and the refs therein...): www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC6462325/

Thanks for watching, Chaz! I actually can't answer that (it's a medical question) but here's some info on GFR and different stages of kidney damage: www.kidneyfund.org/all-about-kidneys/tests-kidney-disease?gclid=CjwKCAiA68ebBhB-EiwALVC-NgcX41cttKFHU2SeDD4LovIDkS4aklpu3DG8xDjNTu03V0I2o3_LJhoCmigQAvD_BwE I will say that I have seen GFR bounce around in a client by several points and wonder what that signifies (for instance, normal range of physiological variability, variability with the test itself, or ???).

@bina nocht Indeed, good point. It has to be monitored over the long term to see any trends.

What is the dosage per day and should we take it on an empty stomach or with food? Thank you so much for your awesome info. Cordyceps are amazing. Baclofen damaged my kidneys.

Hey there! Thanks for watching and commenting. Dosage depends on the specific preparation and the person taking it. I don't get into specifics on dosing on YT in part for this reason. The best way to go is to look at the directions on the product that you purchase, as the dose range will depend on the form of the cordyceps and the strength of the preparation. If you're on any meds or have any other preexisting health issues, you'll want to work with a practitioner. I'm sorry that your kidneys were damaged : ( An aside, dark colored foods have traditionally been used to support kidney health. Things like black beans, mussels, dark skinned grapes, etc.

@bina nocht Thank you so much. I love the sinensis type - I raised my GFR from 79 to 96 in 3 months using cordyceps sinensis. Wonderful stuff.
