The “sections” are called “signatures.”

I love the Neocolor 1s and find they leave a smooth saturated finish with minimal effort and less mess. I use them for backgrounds and coloring large areas. I find they blend well with the Derwent blender pen /Derwent blender pencil and prismacolor blending pencil. They also can be blended together with my prismacolors. My only complaint is there are only 40 colors + Metallics.

I watched a comparison between the Staedtler and the Faber last night.. and while the Staedtler bled through paper much more which is disappointing.. they do amazing tip to tip blending. You may want to give that a try. The Fabers wouldn't do it at all. How do the two white pens compare in opacity? I'm always looking for white pen options. I've used the Faber and it's interesting for highlights without distinct white lines.

I noticed both the 60 set and the new 24 set of the Staedtler Pigment Brush Pens on both the Amazon UK and the Amazon Germany websites are selling at high prices currently along with long shipment dates for the 60 sets sold on both the Amazon UK and the Amazon Germany websites.

You ask, “how do you guys use oil pastels?” My brain, “like a kid finger painting on the walls when her parents aren’t watching.” …but I think the answer to the question you asked was actually - backgrounds. Entertaining video and love that you were willing to share your experience. The background works! I see a bird flying through an electrical storm over a body of water.

Connie, thank you for this entertaining video. It's very brave to film and post the process of trying out a medium for the first time. I've said it before, but it's refreshing to see this trial and error kind of videos. We all need a reminder that not everything has to be perfect and that it's mostly a learning curve and that we should just have fun. Well you certainly had fun! (and me as well watching this :D). I really like the end result. I've seen your finished picture in your other video and the background reminds me more of thunder, which really fits with the colours that you used for the bird! I'm a fellow introvert and I've often felt more lonely with friends than when I'm alone. I do lots of stuff alone and it makes me happier than having to spend time at social gatherings.

I use my LuLu Mayo books as my "practice books" where i try the gesso and glazing liquid, color palletes, new supplies etc.

I think it ended up looking beautiful! Good job!!

You are a breath of fresh air in the coloring community. Love your style, mediums, colors,books. Your approach, delvvery, and scientific curiosity are very enjoyable. I have learned a lot about paper, inks,etc. I tried the Zig clean color and couldn’t control them so I purchased the Staedtler and am doing much better. I also am not a fan of Prismas. Love the Polys but was in a coloring pencil slump until I started watching your channel and tried the Staedtler. I also tried some Zebra mildliner brush markers just for fun. Keep being you.

This is so niche, I love it! I was watching for the new set on 6/25 as well- I saw a comment on ColoringBliss’ channel. Good to know that if I buy the 36 set, I’ll be able to get the supplemental 24 set. Thanks for the sleuthing!

Hi Connie , great video and I love the pages you did this month. I also have the Green Ivy poetry book as I love her art work too , ( I bought it before we all knew about Aladin) .I also have a perpetual calendar by Green Ivy I think you will like. I checked and it is on Aladin's site .Its called Daily Essay and has 365 colour pages , spiral bound to sit on your desk .

The long videos are relaxing to have in the background as I color ❤

Wow what a lovely video, I need to say a big thankyou for not only showing us your supplies and what you use but explaining why you use them and how you find them to use, like you I prefer markers or pens for colouring, as I suffer from arthritis and fibromyalgia along with several other ailments. So I struggle with pencils, I watch numerous channels and try to see how they use supplies, I've spent lots of money trying pencils, even brought prismas, but I just find them painful to use. Your pages are so beautiful, and they look so professional, I am going to try the staedtler pens first as they are within my price range, and save for the pit pens and the zig pens ( which I'd never heard of before you mentioned them ) you are a breath of fresh air to me, I have been colouring since childhood but not seriously, I made an Instagram account just 2 weeks ago thinking I'd get a couple of dozen followers but todate I'm up to 750, I have so many books I won't touch with cheap pens that I want to desperately colour, now thanks to you, I might try. I'd there is any other advice you can give me I'd appreciate it please. Thank you so much again. Your channel is an inspiration ❤😊😊

Hi Connie, I absolutely love the way you do your videos. You always include lots of useful information. I have watched many of your videos and have a question. I would like to like to get a set of acrylic paint pens to use in my coloring books. I mostly want them for covering the black lines. Which pens would you recommend? I'm not sure I want to spend what it would take to get all of the tooli-art paint pens. What works for you? Yes, I've watched a lot of TH-cam videos and they're making my head spin. I'm so confused🙃 I'm also afraid of using cheap ones that turn my pages yellow. 🤪 Thank you in advance for your help. ❤

I agree with the person below about the fact that you are well spoken and the information you share being of value being a huge factor in the appeal of your longer videos. I'm not sure that you understand how funny and interesting you are or how much your coloring "lessons learned" help those that watch learn. Plus, you have some really beautiful coloring! Connie: I have the Original Floribunda. The difference in the page quality is there are only 20 pages in the original and they are very thick card stock with barely any give (you can not hold the book with one hand and do a flip thru) like you are doing. Also, it is not called Floribunda Year like yours. It is just called Floribunda. My cover (front and back) are pale pink with the word Floribunda in gold leaf on front. If you would like me to do a video and send it to you, I would be more than happy to do that.

I love long videos and enjoyed watching both parts of this one. I think that you did a fantastic job with that page from Daydreams. The colours that you used for the bird really pop with the background. Would you be able to demonstrate the 'firefly effect' that you mentioned in a future video please?
