Hello there! Welcome to my trainspotting channel. I am a trainspotter and a railfan that features the railways of Los Banos, Laguna and surrounding areas.. I spot trains when opportunity comes at the southern end of the PNR Metro South Commuter and the Main Line South here in my town and sometimes in the neighboring Calamba City. DEL 2540 New Shunter Locomotive for Calamba Yard rapidly passing in Los Banos, Laguna from Bicol
DEL 2540 is spotted going northbound coming all the way from Naga City, Camarines Sur to replace DEL 917 as the locomotive assigned to Calamba. It is said that DEL 917 will conduct trackworks in Bicol preparing the line going to Legaspi City for the upcoming return of commuter services there.
DEL 2540 is a General Electric U10B Locomotive that belongs to the 2500 Class of Philippine National Railways. Out of the 43 locomotives from its class, only DEL 2540 remains running but there is still other two existing (DEL 2535 and DEL 2538) but in a bad condition and still unclear if they will be reactivated.
Safe distance from the rail line must be observed at all times for your safety and the also for the train crew.

Just wondering, if these locomotives can be relocated to Bicol from Manila on existing tracks, how come passenger services aren’t possible from Manila to Bicol? Track safety issues? Track speed limits or encroachment of obstructions? More power to your channel.
Thanks for watching! I would be glad answering your question. 1st, the rail on manila will be closed because of NSCR Project. Only the Calamba to Legaspi will remain and will be served by segmented commuter trips. 2nd, There is no available coaches suitable for a direct Manila or Laguna to Bicol Trips. They needed forward facing seats and not the commuter type ones. 3rd, I can it is the tracks but now Laguna to BIcol is fully connected but some parts of it, specially in the border of Quezon and Bicol, needs to improve the tracks and stations to cater the passenger service. I hope i have answered your question!

The SVI's horn is funny lol and DEL 917 has the good ol RS37-2. Nice video!
Yes and it still give me laughs when it passed. Also the present horn of DEL 917 was previously fitted to DEL 921, which is also an active hauler here of miscellaneous trains. That horn is very memorable to me now. Thanks for watching!
