I created this idea because I got tired of not seeing what I wanted to watch when it comes to gaming. So If I'm looking for this, surely others are as well. What was I looking for? Battle reports and story driven games in systems not made by a company that starts with a "G" and ends in "orkshop".

Haven't played Dungeons in ages.Thanks so much. Also,loved the comment "I played in tournaments.My dad ran them." I used to run many tournaments, although not mage knight thouse I only watched. But I wish that my son will acknowledge my work in boardgaming hobby.🙂 Keep on the good work you're making your dad proud!
i love this series. even if you double up I don't mind. Loved seeing the zsu57 .The chieftains have a range of 40 and your mg3 team's have a range of 16 .I think the US inf get firepower of 5 because of the m203 .Maybe their HQ is armed with m203 ;)
Its the first time I've put them on the table. Normally I bring Shilkas with Iran because you only get 1 AA unit (lets not talk about the Gecko...) but I do like their stats for their points. Huh your right about the Chieftain range, dunno where I got 32" from.
the bmp having heat just means it's harder to kill thing who have like ERA armour. i guess that's why it's there
Ah true. It is a Anti-Tank Grenade (I think) so HEAT defense armor would stop that pretty easily.

I believe so!
One of the things that's both great and frustrating about tabletop strategy games is the randomness of the dice. A great run can turn sour or you can make a comeback after a hair pulling set of turns. Always makes for an interesting story.

Nice! I just finished 3d printing up the US Land Ironclad for a friend....that thing is hilariously big.
At least three things in the official rules may have prevented your total party wipe: 1) Printed movement costs on the terrain squares are the actual cost to enter so no need to add an extra 1 point (unless diagonally). 2) No shooting into melee. 3) No shooting through other figures. Instead of bringing back the team, it seems refighting the scenario is a fairer treatment to the poor heroes.
I dont think I did shooting into melee, its actually what kept mattio from healing Morg. Also Morg should have healed up to full after killing the stinging skeleton and I think him at a full level 2 health would had done a major change on how the game turned out.

To deal with the wrinkles in the old paper mats I've just used an iron on low heat and gone over my old paper dungeons and it helps a lot to keep them flat. I honestly think folding the mats is probably one of the worst ways to store the as far as keeping them in good playable condition. I may have to get my collection out and play some solitaire it looks like a quick fun solo run. The Crypt Worm also has a range of 4 so when it moved 2 it still had 4 movement left over to perform a ranged attack at 5:55
True. I should find a way to store my paper mats flat. Hitting them with an iron sounds like something I'd really rather not do (not to mention I don't own an Iron) but maybe I should. I completely forgot the crypt worms have a range of 4. I was expecting those fights to go way different since, in normal mage knight, crypt worms are kind of bad.

Iran artillery is kinda rough without an observer .That 5 skill is horrible .On table that small the mortar would be an easy saving .No scorpion ? They have smoke without having worry about 5 skill :) have you tried the m113 recoiless they have a skill of 3 for some reason .And the zsu57 be fun when theres no real air .Some ideas for our odd ball Iranians .I love that you use them
I love the scorpions but I saw the airborne force before I built mine and I didn't want too go TOO hard on tanks. Same thing with the -57-2's (I do have them). I've never really used Smoke from a tank shot, since you still have to hit with all modifiers and it only messes with LOS on the individual tank until it moves. I'd rather just go for the kill. The m113 recoiless and ToWs are locked to the Mech company formation.

Excellent video, I still love my Mage Knight minis and the game was (and still is) classic, especially the solo version.
Nice gameplay!. If my Brother doesn't want to play a game with me in mage knight. I bring out some figures and make up scenarios and play by myself 😅 still fun though haha.

You can open the chest even after a trap has been activated. Also the remaining wandering MS tokens should be placed face up 😊
I guess I didn't make that clear, yea you can keep trying and keep activating the trap. As for the remaining wandering MS tokens, when you find one in a room it basically flips up anyway so placing them face up doesn't matter. Unless you mean something else?
Defensive fire is 8 inches from the teams being assaulted during an assault. page 59. You all mentioned 12 inches at 55"04

I think you will find the Aussie list is more than 100pts as some of the choices are one or the other

Made a slight mistake on the hero leveling up. Its 50 points for level 2, then 100 for 3, 150 for 4, and 200 for level 5. I thought I had edited that in but guess I didn't.

PF attack side Armour in Assaults. Thats a 12 vs x
Thanks for posting some Mage Knight miniatures game content! These were some of my favorite models as a kid even though tactically they were outplayed fairly easily by alpha striking unique models. Suggestion for Knights Immortal. If you're completely avoiding all peanut based models (calvary) I think some of the best core units are in no particular order: 1. The weak Standard Bearer: With a 12" forced march this model is fantastic and only 11 points, so it goes in every formation pretty much. I would imagine this model is fairly easy to get ahold of since it was so common. I have like 20 of them in various rank levels. 2. Weak Shield Golem: 60 points for a model that has an armor value of 20 with Defend... this can literally just make it statistical improbility that your opponent is going to have enough high attack value models to deal with this headache. An absolute monster but kind of hard to find online. 3. Either weak or Tough Tribow (50 or 65 points): I wish I had more of these models because it has great alpha strike potential with 4" bound and 12" range (16" threat range) and pierce with 3 arrows. Seems really great to me to be able to have 2 or 3 of these in a medium sized game to deal with both elite units with good armor such as Invulnerability, and hordes since they can spam out 3 shots each. Their only downside is their low defense of 14 which if you have a model with a good Defend value (Knight Immortal have a lot) such as the Shield Golem trailing behind them after they shoot shores up that problem. 4. Paladin Priest - Unique (Minions) 83 points: I always prefer my healing to be ranged (Magic Healing) if I can get it... Paladin Priest is great in that he can target 2(!) models with his magic healing at up to 8" away. He also comes with Magic Enhancement and an 18 Defense and Defend so IMO the best support model that Knights Immortal has within MK1.0. 5. Tough Elven Zealot 33 points: I think you're right in that if you are specifically NOT using Calvary (which I think is silly in a Knight Immortal list) is your best unit for backline defense and trying to clear melee units off of your support and ranged units since she has a 5" charge. I say tough because it's the only one that had a starting damage of 3 and attack of 11 though the other ranks will do in a pinch if you don't have rank Tough. I'm going to have to check out those 3d files for the bases because having a way to proxy or even create custom MK would be awesome to keep the game and community alive.
Hey guys, just noticed that the German Recce platoon (SdKfz 250) moved at dash speed (@2:53). Although I cannot measure through video, it seems that it moved within 8''/20cm of the American Infantry. If this is the case then the movement is illegal as "Tank, Infantry, and Gun Teams cannot Move at Dash speed within 8”/20cm of any enemy Tank, Infantry, or Gun Team", Rulebook, p. 41
Doh! Thanks for catching that. I guess I really should sit down and read the rules a little bit better. That might have made for a more compelling game. Granted....this was months ago at this point (and I don't mean from the upload time either). Thanks for pointing that out so I can do better in future videos!

Hey guys, very good game and cool video once again! I think that I have mentioned it somewhere else too, it’s about the Spearhead Move. I believe that the Americans’ Spearhead Move is not legal (@2:35). According to the Rulebook, p. 93, this movement may not take a Team within 16”/40cm of any Objective outside your own Deployment Area. It’s not very clear from the video but, as far as I can see and based on the scenario setup, the Americans moved outside their deployment area towards the objective, ended their movement closer than 16”/40cm of it and deployed units there.
Oh shoot your right, thanks! I guess we assumed it only meant that you couldn't get closer to an objective you needed to attack, not that it prevented the objective to defend. I would have lost the scenario even faster then hah!
Hey guys, very good game, well done. I would like to write a couple of words regarding a misinterpreted issue about shooting, according to my opinion (@28:42+). You say something like “Since I can see those two guys from the squad, my whole platoon gets to see”. But “A Team can only Shoot at a target within its Line of Sight” (Rulebook p.51). Maybe the confusion is due to rules’ notes at Rulebook p. 55 “Shoot the easiest target” and p.56 “Speeding thing up”. My interpretation is the following: 1. Declare targets that are valid, in our case they must be in Line of Sight of the target team. 2. Shoot at the easiest target. 3. Assign hits to the target team and distribute hits to any valid team within 6’’/15cm of the target team (Rulebook p. 57). So, the 4 StuGs correctly shot to easiest target in the open, i.e. the Cromwell, and 2 hits were also assigned correctly. But the 5th StuG has no line of sight to this team (the Cromwell) and it should target the Firefly. I believe that somehow the picture in the top of Rulebook p.55 clears things up about how to declare valid targets.
I did phrase that poorly on camera. I think what I meant was that since I could see the one in the open all my shots would hit on the number I needed for the one out in the open. Its on page 3 of the FAQ under "mixed targets". BUT, you are probably right with the 5th StuG. Also good to know the 6" from "team I can see" rule. Thanks!

I am interested in it but since I already play at 15mm scale finding models for the JSDF is a tad difficult. I haven't done too deep of a look into either of them though, just as they were coming out.
Have you tried out Battletech Alpha Strike for the larger scale games? It works best around company-level.
I do like Alpha Strike and will be doing games of that as well. Though at company level I do prefer CBT, I've got something in mind at Battalion level for alpha strike.
Hey guys, please remember that an Armoured Tank Team can Assault if it did not shoot at its Halted ROF (Rulebook p. 72). So, as Stuarts shot at their Full ROF (@56:20) they cannot assault (@1:01:15). Furthermore, teams that break off Move at Tactical speed (Rulebook p. 80), so German 5cm AT cannot move further than 6''/15cm of the assaulting teams (its tactical move is 4''/10cm) and is captured/destroyed (@1:23:11). And remember, it needs a Cross Test if it moves to the woods.
Hey thanks for the rules check! I again, did not know about the assaulting rule. I just assumed you could. Thanks for the catch! And I knew I move at tactical for the 5cm gun team break off. You can even see us do it properly in the last D-Day Game with some 8.8cm guns. I literally have no idea why I did it like that and the ignoring a cross check. I've lost an entire platoon of Stugs on a failed cross check trying to retreat before. I guess it really isn't a proper game if I don't accidentally cheat against Mitch heh.
@@dragontankgaming Hey again! Please don’t get me wrong, it’s not about cheating, it’s just about remembering to apply the rules properly during the heat of the game. Retrospectively, it took us long time and many games to learn the V4 rules and we are still making mistakes. So, consider any of my comments positively. Not forget to mention that you are doing a great job, beautiful terrain, balanced army lists, interesting scenarios and respectful co-players, well done!

@@dragontankgaming Yep. Fair criticism, we're fixing it. David is retired USMC and the presentation of the force chart is - from what I remember him explaining - similar to what he's accustomed to from his time in the service, so it felt natural to him. But you know... plans, contact with the enemy, surviving, etc.

According to the Rulebook (p. 46) Gun Teams can only be issued Dig In and Cross Here Movement Orders. So, I believe that 6 pdr guns can not blitz (@9:12)
Thanks for letting me know! I had NO idea that gun teams couldn't blitz. Until the D-Day campaigns I hardly ever used gun teams.
So I know I already replied to this but I just found that one and I have to say, that rule has one of the worst placements in any rulebook I have ever seen. I showed this to Mitch and other friends and they laughed saying something "That's doesn't look like a rule, thats the fluff text!"
you should not have taken all side shots on the tigers, it looks like only one had a side shot.
Its possible? The first time they shot they had at least side shots on 1 and the killing blow had side shots on both. Perhaps there was another time I shot and we mis-aligned the models or something.

@dragontankgaming have you ever used them as tank riders ?Got be a way touse them that isn't based on 'choke their rivers with your dead " tactics . I only use them at minimum detachment to get the jeeps ,I love chieftains ,scorpions amd cobras main reason I play Iranian. Ive read only way to be succesful with Basij is just zerg the enemy with basij .I like combined arms
@@madus73 I didn't play them that much before (that 4+ save is pretty awful) but that does sound like a good way to try and get them into battle or at least bullet proof cover faster.

where does it say pak 40 type guns can go into buildings? They're impassable to tanks and guns?
The Large Gun rule states that this unit cannot be placed into buildings. Things like the 203 Soviet Gun and the 8.8cm gun have that rule. The Pak 40 does not. Granted I think it mostly means that you can place gun teams into buildings during deployment or ambush but you can also make the argument that you pick up your models and "place" them in the building. This has nothing to do at all with me not checking page 43 of the terrain section in the rulebook at all and I'm absolutely not making excuses....

@@christophernix8003 Yup, that's why the large gun rule exists, certain guns are just WAY to big to operate out a window. Another interesting rules interaction is mortars. You cant fire mortars while in a building...does being on a building count? You get bullet proof cover and concealment no?
Pak 40s arnt large guns, that's why they have a 3 plus save
