When 6 pdrs opened fire on the German HMGs, you needed 6 to hit, not 5. Base 3 , +1 to hit for cover, +1 to hit for night time shooting, and +1 for long range shooting. Gun teams were 22 inches away fm the HMGs.
For the first British reserve, the Airlanding rifle unit, it cannot do blitz order when it comes on the table. Blitz can only be done at the start of the movement phase and the team has not moved yet. Since the reserves were already moving onto the table, they cannot do blitz. They can, however, issue Follow Me order.
Good catch on the 6pdrs needing to hit, recorded that one awhile ago and you can probably see some rules mistakes in this campaign we corrected later (it was recorded before the other campaigns due to scheduling).
Also good to know about blitzing on from reserves. That makes a "follow me" order actually kind of useful.
I’m surprised anyone is even playing FOW anymore. Our group went from 22 players to 3 and we haven’t played in 2-3 years.
Sorry to hear that. Our local playgroup is 16-ish people and another one in the same state further south of decent size. Most of it in the US in heavily concentrated on the east coast.
According to the Rulebook (p. 46) Gun Teams can only be issued Dig In and Cross Here Movement Orders. So, I believe that 6 pdr guns can not blitz (@9:12)
Thanks for letting me know!
I had NO idea that gun teams couldn't blitz. Until the D-Day campaigns I hardly ever used gun teams.
So I know I already replied to this but I just found that one and I have to say, that rule has one of the worst placements in any rulebook I have ever seen.
I showed this to Mitch and other friends and they laughed saying something "That's doesn't look like a rule, thats the fluff text!"
