This is a fun hike that follows the rugged coastline for much of the trail, along the way you'll see white sand beaches, petroglyphs, islands and bays, all while walking through a beautiful pacific northwest rainforest.

The woods are lovely, dark and deep. But I have promises to keep, And miles to go before I sleep, And miles to go before I sleep.
Wow great content! Writing skills and drone videography, both were impressive!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Nice job 🙂
Do the Grossglockner
We did! Check out the video here: th-cam.com/video/oaDiedzGqRs/w-d-xo.htmlsi=DKHM5zsmxxtW2189
Trenches are actually from WW1 and not WW2. They were part of the front line between Italy and Austro-Hungarian empire. WW2 wasn't fought in the Dolomites
Thanks for the clarification, I’ve fixed the typo in the title.
At what time were your permits for angels landing? 9am? Also, how bright was it? Thank you for this video, it’s awesome!
We’re glad you enjoyed the video! Our time slot was after 12pm, and we started at exactly noon. It was very bright, very hot. Almost no shade on the way up to scout lookout.
Can anyone recommend any levadas we can do from funchal. We can get bus to them but not by car as we're not hiring a car? We are in our 50s but quite fit so just want to experience 1 or 2.
Regrettably most of the Levadas are not near where people live, so getting a bus directly to a trailhead is tough. I spent some time looking into this for you and didn’t see anything that jumped out. However, you can still enjoy this hike - you can take the 56 bus to Santana (about an hour from Funchal) and then take a taxi the rest of the way. It’s busy enough in the summer that you should have no difficulty in getting a taxi back to the bus stop for your return journey. The staff on site at Parque Florestal das Queimadas should also be able to help call one for you if needed.
This looks like the bottom up route?
That’s right. It’s known both as the left fork and the bottom up route.
How much time do you need for the entire visit?
You can see the highlights in 1 day, but there is much more to the park than just this one hike. I would recommend 2-3 days to see everything.
superbe parcours, est ce la durée aller et retour ou simplement aller
The total distance mentioned is out and back. You can view the trail in AllTrails (see link in description) La distance totale mentionnée est aller et retour. Vous pouvez consulter le sentier dans AllTrails (voir lien dans la description)
Great video
Really cool hike an information. I had to go watch a timelapse of the tidal swing for this, that is wild. Beautiful film!
Lovely filming and editing my friend! Place looks amazing 👏
Super 🙂
Thank you! Cheers!
Hi. I plan to do same hike on coming 12 June. May i know what date did you hike? Is it dangerous if there is snow on the mountain?
The conditions will be very similar to what was shown in the video. The snow on the trail is not a hazard, but you might get a wet foot if you step in a deep pocket.
@@trailtalestravel So the video taken was at the beginning of the june?
We were there June 16. So almost exactly the same time of year.
@@trailtalestravel Thanks a lot for your reply.
Let us know how you get on when go visit!
I think the water level and rate of flow were much higher during your visit than average, at least much higher compared to my visit there in April 2021, which will cause much more difficulty in route finding. Thanks for this video, it brings back a lot of good memory of mine.
Glad you enjoyed it Wei, thanks for sharing your experiences on the trail 😁
Is there a non-via ferrata way to go to the tunnels?
Yes, there are two options: 1. If you look at the route we took in all trails (link in description) you can follow the route in reverse, following the eastern route to the summit. 2. You can take the gondola to the top of the mountain and walk down through the tunnels.
@@trailtalestravelI see, you guys did a loop, so the western route is the via ferrata and eastern way is the normal route?
01.04.2023 ❤
Great hikes and great scenery!
Three great hikes and another fabulous Trail Tale video!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Love this video!!! So sad that I missed out on these amazing hikes! Looking forward to more Nova Scotia content!
More to come! Stay tuned
Wish you had mentioned which lakes you paddled. But nice video!
We visited these lakes (in order): Grand lake Stratton lake St Andrews lake High falls lake Ooze lake Opalescent lake Cork lake Brigham lake
The lakes are also referenced in the video chapters so you can skip to a particular lake if you wish.
What do you recommend to visit seceda in mid may ? Thanks before
The cable car does not operate until May 31st. If you want to visit seceda before then You will need to hike all the way up. There may still be snow and ice in places, check with the tourist information before you hike to see if the trails are even open.
@@trailtalestravel thanks for your answer . Do you have the trail map for an easy hike to seceda ? I'll go there by a car
If there are no cable cars running when you go this is likely your best bet: Santa Cristina - Rifugio Firenze - Seceda on AllTrails www.alltrails.com/en-gb/trail/italy/south-tyrol/santa-cristina-rifugio-firenze-seceda But this is a much bigger hike than we did, over 1,000m of elevation gain if you don’t have the option to use the gondola.
@@trailtalestravelyes , I'll see it if we can get through it , we are very amateur hiker too 😂. The last mountain we try is the blue crater of mount ijen in East Java . But I think seceda have more walkable trails .
Best of luck, let us know how you get on!
Amazing nature. Allot of ibex in himalayan mountains
I thought the devil's hole was the whirlpool a bit further upstream. Upon descending the stairs, if you walk the trail upstream (Whirlpool State Park), the river is more accessible and there are many flat rocks where you can sit and watch the class 5 rapids. This whole area is amazing and underappreciated. There are also many birds of prey soaring around. I also enjoyed the narration and hope you continue to make these videos...very relaxing.
Thank you so much! We have some epic trips planned this year so there will be more videos coming for sure.
The Inferno gorge alone makes this hike very special to me. My dad thought he saw a 'demonic grinning face' in a rock formation there. I will keep going back until I find it. ;-)
Let us know if you do! We didn’t see any evil spirits in the rocks, but that sounds spooky 👻
My husband and I can't wait to do this hike during our honeymoon in the Dolomites, it looks epic. I don't see the alltrails link in the description, do you mind linking it again?
Sorry about that, I’ve added it to the description for you. If you have any other questions about the hike or the dolomites in general let us know! We’re happy to share anything we can to make your trip amazing 😁
I can use some help planing my trip. I am planning to go to Seceda on May 23rd. It looks like most of the cable cars will not be in service except for Col Raiser. Any idea how long is the hike from the Col Raiser cable car arrival station to Seceda? I will arrive in the early afternoon so I am worried about not making it back in time for the last cable car at 5 pm. Thank you!
The climb from col raiser station to the seceda station is 500m over 4km. It’s quite steep in places but should take about an hour. This is the full loop we did, which took 3.5 hours. Col Raiser - Secëda - Forcella Pana - Rifugio Firenze on AllTrails www.alltrails.com/en-gb/trail/italy/south-tyrol/col-raiser-seceda-forcella-pana-rifugio-firenze
From which website do you know that col raiser is open in 23 rd may ? Because from what I read theyre open at 31st may
I could not find it either. Everything says they open on may 31
I’ve done this via feratta, it was a nice easy fun one and the views were spectacular! Also filmed cliffhanger there apparently 🧗♂️
Great video. Very helpful and informative. I’m hiking this solo in a month so I’m using this video as research to prepare. And I absolutely love your naturally soothing voice; it pairs so well with your descriptive language and the calming background music. Keep up the good work.
Thanks Corey! Let us know how you get on once you’re back from your trip 😄
@@trailtalestravelI decided to cancel my reservation/permit for hiking the Subway. It's more than I want to handle for my short trip to Zion. I'm going to stick to hikes with defined trails instead of the find-your-trail aspect of the Subway. Thanks again for the great video.
Your video came in time! We are planning a road trip from Berlin to Krakow. Definitely we will spent a day or two in Bastei! Would you mind to tell me where you stay at Bastei? Thanks in advance! 😊
We were camping, so we stayed in königstein. Did you see our other video for the hike in the Czech part of the national park? If you are there for 2 days it is also worth doing.
Great video! Planning for a hike and this really helped. Thanks!
Glad to hear it helped! We also have a video on a hike just across the border in the Czech part of the national park if you have an extra day to hike 🥾
Thank you for making this great video. We have permit in hand for the latter part of May this year. It sounds like according to your video that is when you hiked it last year. Can't wait to give it a go!
Yes we hiked in late may so the conditions should be very similar. Just bring more water than we did, we were a little thirsty when we got back to the car.
@@trailtalestravel Thank you for the tip about water. How much did you bring? We are thinking 3 liters plus some electrolytes and some water stored in the car for the return trip. We heard the spring water down there is drinkable but probably shouldn't count on finding it :)
@juliedo5243 you cannot drink the river water, it will make you very sick. We’d recommend 2 litres per person minimum. Also, start earlier in the day than we did, it’ll be much cooler and easier. We started at 1pm and it was a sweat box 🥵
@@trailtalestravel Right, yes, best to not take chances due to the toxic algae. For sure we will bring enough water and start early. Thanks :)
Most importantly, enjoy the trail! Let us know how you got on 😁🥾
Thank you from Sweden, this is an amazing trail but I would not dare 😊.
When did you guys visit? The month
We were there the end of June
@@trailtalestravel Cool. Its looks really nice
In 2007 I did this with my two sons then 10 and 8 and it was amazing. Funny thing when we got back to Scouts Landing my youngest realized he left his pack on Angels Landing and had to go back to get it. Back then you didn't need a pass to hike it.
That’s quite the story! It’s honestly something I could see one of us doing by mistake. That’s a long hike to do twice back to back!
On my bucket list. Thanks for sharing.
Loved this video and narrative 😊 Thank you for posting
Glad you enjoyed it! We hope you stick around for the next one 😄
Very pretty trail, we've never attempted in the winter before. I would imagine the rock scramble section would be a bit slippery. Fear of heights shouldn't be an issue there but you would be surprised by how many people we've watched struggle with that part more than anything. It's always worth the effort though.
I'd probably run 3 marathons before attempting that last , chain section after Scout's Lookout. I'm the type who feels queasy when I'm leaning up against a railing 8 or so floors up in a condo. I once stood in one of the glass viewing boxes (The Ledge) in Chicago's Willis Tower (1350 ft. up), and I was shaking so much I had trouble standing in one place.
I thoroughly enjoyed your hike without suffering the chilly toes. Spectacular view at the peak!
Hi Trail visit the himalayan mountains k2 and Nangaparbat view from one place. Moses Peak
Thanks for the tips! We will make sure to visit when we get a chance 🥾
@@trailtalestravel Thank you very much for replying to the comment. Whenever you start a short solo trip of 4-5 days, Moses Peak is a must. It is a 5300m height۔ from the top of moses pea which you can see the views of the K2 highest peak in the world, Nangaparbat, K6 k11 and K 12 views in one frame. best time from May to October. This is a family track.
Beautiful cinematography! Thank you for posting. This inspires me to go to Killarney Park. One small critique: I don't agree that Ontario is "remarkably flat." 🙂 Even near Lake Ontario, where I live, the deep ravines provide an undulating terrain, and the Group of Seven became famous for painting the mountain landscapes of northern Ontario.
@AliPasdar-pu6yl we’re so happy to hear we’ve inspired you to go hiking! Let us know how you get on out there 😁 I will concede, you are right 😉
Sun and great views!
Hi. What time of year was that?
We were there in June.
What a beautiful hike, Austria is truly beautiful!
Omg, breathtaking scenery my friend! Shots are amazing!
Thanks Ervin!
I wanted to do this hike but didn’t have the permit
Do you know if permits are required year-round? Thanks, Carl
Hi Carl, since they are a means of stopping overcrowding on the trail, so are only required during peak season. However, it’s best to check on the parks service website before you go.
There is also a second cave I found was there today the path going to the first cave you were at they had closed down unfortunately but the second cave I explored tho
We’re glad you did the hike and enjoyed it! Which one do you think is the true devils hole?
@@trailtalestravel don’t know lol I couldn’t get access to check the second one cuz the lower devils hole trail was closed where the second cave was but I’m local to buffalo area so I go there every fall for the foliage
Great hike guys! Looks beautiful out there. Wonderful upload. The color of the river is stunning
I never knew about Devil’s hole. Looks like a great hike!
