Recycling in St. Louis and Belleville IL. What happens to your stuff?
When you put your recycle in the bin do you ever wonder what happens to it?
What percentage of your stuff gets burnt up in a fire at Republic Services facility on bayless?
What percentage gets turned into microplastics by machinery and blows away in the wind or washes out an outfall?
Is recycling really “for the environment” or is it FOR a pacifier to stick in your mouth!!

The salt shed is perhaps over filled with salt. Consequently the pile of salt is washing away across the parking lot. Why are the Dept of Sanitation’s trucks so rusty you ask? Take a look at where they’re parked in relation to a massive wash of salt. Does salt contribute to corrosion? Idk, watch some chemistry channels and lmk in the comments! Have you observed the trash transfer process in your town as well? Yes, these issues with micro plastics coming from the recycling need to be addressed but at the end of the day recycling many types of plastic is more beneficial than landfilling. I would be willing to bet that the same type of pollution, probably even worse, is happening from the trash stream as well.

    • @618litterpickin
      @618litterpickin หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@tylerkuss6985Garbage goes directly to landfill here, there isn’t a transfer process, unless you mean dumping on the active face. At the end of the day recycling many types of plastic is beneficial to who? Taxpayers, I don’t think so Environment? Doesn’t look that way to me. Plastic producers and single stream recyclers, 🎯Bingo! Economically, the evidence points to virgin plastic being cheaper and of higher quality. From my observation, the landfill mostly locks up plastics/microplastics into one place and doesn’t dump them directly into a large creek that then flows into the Mississippi River. The landfill doesn’t pile trash onto a concrete parking lot less than 200 yards from a creek as a matter of their process. I’m sure some level of microplastic does runoff from the landfill. There’s gonna be plastics/microplastics that fall off the collection truck even, but thats gonna happen regardless if it goes to “recycle” or landfill how does it actually compare pound for pound, lets find out. Do you have any ideas on an accurate way to make such a determination?

    • @618litterpickin
      @618litterpickin หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@tylerkuss6985 The reason we need to throw plastics away and quit pretending to “recycle” is because this system is broken for us. Unless you’re one of them who benefits exploitively from some Investment in big oil, plastics, waste, It’s a single use tax that we need, ultimately a ban on certain products Meanwhile, Single use bans are being held up from instantiation by industry interest groups.. Dart container corp wants you to believe that polystyrene #6 is recyclable. It’s highly beneficial to their styrofoam container business to keep the single stream running bc it keeps their products unquestioned by the environmentally pacified masses and attenuates anyone calling for a ban. Do you know what percentage of post consumer plastic that makes it to MRF gets turned into new product?

    • @tylerkuss6985
      @tylerkuss6985 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@618litterpickin So first of all, I obviously am not from your area so I'm just speaking of my knowledge of my local area/MRF. As far as what I said about the trash process, in my area both the trash and recycle go to a transfer station where they are loaded onto semi trailers and taken to either the MRF or landfill. Recycling contamination, education, misinformation is definitely a big problem which needs to be addressed (such as the PS Dart cups you mention and so many other types of plastic packaging). I won't get into the chasing arrows symbol and the origin of that since I'm sure you're already aware of the scam that is... Also, I completely agree that we need to be making less plastic products in general and reducing our reliance on these types of materials. However I think that for certain types of plastics that are (unfortunately) part of almost everyone's waste steam, these should get recycled. For example- PET bottles. I know that many major companies are now making their bottles from RPET and there is actually beginning to be a shortage of recycled PET feedstock available. As we move towards more domestic recycling in the US, we will need to drastically increase our recycling rate in order to keep up with the demand. Also things like HDPE, PP, have consistent, reliable end markets (at least for my MRF) so they want to receive as much of this material as possible. Now many types of plastic, such as film, PS, etc. are not accepted in the recycle steam but people put them in there anyway, so this would ideally be stopped. But I think that sellable materials with constant buyers should continue to get recycled. Just my 2 cents

    • @618litterpickin
      @618litterpickin ปีที่แล้ว

      I felt the same way for a while… but the truth is that Ticketmaster and live nation DO profit from shakedown street 💯 percent. Vendors often pay the venue over $100 per night to get into the lot early, set up, and sell their stuff. Shakedown isn’t free for vendors. I’d bet serious money that with all of their lot fees, LN and ticketmaster DO make profit from shakedown, even after accounting for cleanup costs. However, they HATE the free market capitalism and they hate that they don’t get a piece of every purchase, which is why they want shakedown street to LOOK BAD, so they can shut it down and channel all of the profits through their network of criminal enterprise and corporate corruption. Maybe all of the shakedown vendors need to organize and chip in together to rent numerous dumpsters and hundreds of garbage cans and perhaps thousands of can liners so that we can provide Trash service for the entire venue and parking lot. Vendors could clean up the parking lot on the following morning, sure. But how well would that work out for someone who is already sleep deprived from rushing from city to city to get in line first and get a good spot? Who has time for it? The vendors don’t. They are working SOO HARD already, literally some of the hardest working people I have ever witnessed! If you continue watching the entire video, you will surely see livenation staff saying “No more trash bags” that’s somewhere around 9:22 Do you know who pays to clean up the mess left in the lot after everyone leaves? I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s subsidized by some tax loophole and we the people are left on the hook, but it’s certainly not made spotless by the vendors or customers, there are actually cleaners who come out and do it. I saw it myself in Cinci the morning after the show. Probably dozens or more workers with skid loaders and other equipment to help manage the waste, but guess what?! They had to pick up literally THOUSANDS of pieces of trash from the ground and bag them up. Why?!?? The bags are getting paid for by TM and LN EITHER WAY! The cleanup is going to cost them MORE if they don’t make an upfront effort to provide vendors with the bags. I can’t say they made absolutely zero effort… there was ONE dumpster there. There were Three cases of can liners provided to shakedown vendors as well at saratoga, but the actual truth is that I only saw 1 case that they willingly provided and it maybe had 50 bags in it. The other bags were only given because I kept coming back to the gate and customer relations and BEGGING them to provide us more to help. Not one vendor I met wanted to leave the area trashed. I believe fully that they want the area to look like this after the show. Why are there no cans provided but only can liners? Do traveling vendors carry the responsibility to bring bulky trash cans with them to every stop across the US? I don’t think so! Travelling vendors don’t have room in their vehicles to fit bulky garbage bins, and they don’t possess the infrastructure to clean a dirty nasty garbage can berore placing it in their vehicle. And my final argument, which I believe puts a nail in the coffin on undeniable proof that Ticketmaster and Livenation are deflecting their responsibility….. Go to 10:24 and take a look at how the State Park area that was on the OPPOSITE side of the venue from shakedown looks after the Saturday show. That area has NOTHING to do with shakedown whatsoever, it’s a State Park! They rent that park from New York State and the Park has made an agreement with them(livenation) and they are responsible for cleanup. The state park’s policy is pack in, pack out, leave no trace. Look it up and prove me wrong if you don’t believe me, but I had several conversations that pointed to it. Conversation with venue staff, park staff, and NY state police. None of these people were willing to express their knowledge on camera because they were afraid of “getting in trouble” Please watch again, and consider that Evil forces are at work here. Dark, Death energy powers our world with fossil fuels and this evil loves to see us pollute and toxify our environment. Who tosses trash on the ground in shakedown, in the venue, and around the parking lot? Rich selfish custies lead by example. Young unwise kids see their example and follow it because “nobody cares” But I known the truth! So many vendors care! Even some of the Nitrous mafia carried trash bags and chipped in on cleanup help. To sum it all up, Vendors PAY money to live nation to use the lot, that the corporations often rent and have agreed to cleanup afterwards. Vendors also provide an additional attraction for fans, beyond the music of the band. Vendors provide a unique experience and one of a kind stuff that livenation, ticketmaster, and the band ALL profit from indirectly as it all brings more revenue to their shows through that attraction. Furthermore, the majority of vendors are working to do their part already, but cannot afford the space in their vehicles to transport bulky trash bins, and even if they had space, they’d still need to clean those bins somewhere after every night to get spilled beer residues, drugs, and human defication cleaned out so that it wasn’t creating a health hazard in their vehicle. The truth is out there, I hope you find it! Peace, love, and Blessings to you! Thank you for watching, and thank you for commenting! I hope you might share if you change your mind😉
