@@jillrobinson4297 oh sounds amazing! I bet that’ll be magical. Hmmm I don’t eat much seafood so I wasn’t looking out for it. From memory they had seafood in the speciality restaurant Aqualina, and they definitely had lobster and sushi at the white night buffet - you can see that in my latest white night vlog. I don’t remember seeing any of that in the buffet. Have a fantastic time nonetheless!

@@juniperdog5523 hiya ☺️ Azamara cruises seem to differ a bit with each cruise. Our experience has been mostly uk and American, and some Canadian and Australians, this made up most of our cruises. Agewise, mostly older, with the majority over 50/60 probably, but there were a few younger couples like us around. We found although it’s on the older end, the people that choose Azamara are often very young in the soul, super friendly, chatty, energetic etc. so we didn’t feel the age gap too much. Both our Azamara cruises have been in Europe.

@@itstimetotravel_now hahaha it was a lot harder than we expected… we’re going to do it again on our next cruise in December but this time on the first sea day instead of waiting until a few days in. Seriously challenging! And utterly nuts to take scales into the restaurant😂😂

@@BethandDavidCruise Yes it would be smarter to do it on sea day 1 instead of mid-cruise! We look forward to that update and you hitting 2kg of food 🤣 And we may have to hide those scales as we walk into the restaurants to avoid the strange looks!

@@itstimetotravel_now hahah you’re right - 2kg will have to be the goal! At least for david 😂 the secret is the buy scales that are small enough that they just cover the bottom of the plate and they also look a bit like an iPad instead of scales 😂

@@JacksMom-g4b we were deck 6 in the obstructed but got moved to deck 4 for the unobstructed. Certainly wasn’t a downgrade even though it was lower on the ship. I’m sure you can ask to move up for a small fee once you get onboard if you’re not happy (and they have capacity)! It’s definitely worth the extra in our opinion, but my parents stayed in an obstructed earlier this year and they were happy with it and they typically like a balcony or suite!

@@Nick_Stock glad you enjoyed the food as much as we did! I agree with everything you’ve said. The thanksgiving sounds amazing - I know david would’ve loved that! We haven’t seen that before. And yes all the pizza on Princess is amazing, the pool area pizza is more like American dominoes style, and the restaurant pizza is a lovely homemade type pizza. Love them all😍😍 let me know what you think of it!

@@LK-nb1eu it’s open time dining so you go along when you choose (except the first night they “suggest” a time and restaurant only for that night) and you can pick the restaurant when you go, you simply turn up to one of them at any time during the evening. You can reserve tables at a specific restaurant on the app, but only at 5:30 or 8:30 I believe. This can be useful if you want to bypass the rush after the first theatre show for example, as you may have to wait since everyone goes at once. You get given a buzzer and usually isn’t longer than 15-20 mins wait. It’s very flexible so you can do as you please 😌 that was our experience at least.

@@timallen1994 oh this is very interesting to hear, thanks for adding your opinion. Like you say, food is highly subjective. We haven’t tried ama or Oceania, but I can imagine compared to the lines that are more expensive than Azamara, the food probably isn’t as good. Most of our comparisons and views on the food is in comparison to larger more mainstream lines, which we think Azamara definitely does better than. I definitely agree on the eggs though! We recently did another Azamara and didn’t eat the eggs at breakfast because of this. Sorry to hear you were disappointed. What lines do you think have the best food? Sounds like we need to try them!😍😍

@@darlenepurcell7541 hi, thanks for your opinion, it’s definitely a different culture overseas. My in laws are American and they are shocked every time they visit due to the lack of tipping. My experience asking crew is that they don’t see the tips, so yes we prefer to tip particular crew to ensure at least some of the crew benefit from tips. It’s a personal decision many people make.

😆 thinking outside the box😆 my laptop charger wasn't happy to see that box! Yep, we loved celebrity but will get the package next time. just annoying as David will make use of it, but all I'll drink is a coffee or two a day and some ginger beer in the evening. no alcohol for me, which makes it really expensive! @@lilactree8444 hi thanks for commenting, I’m glad my videos could be of help! There’s no way to book that I’m aware of (except for suite class guests), just turning up early. They allow drinks in though so can always grab a drink and relax in there for a bit before the show. They had waiters wandering around in there too before the show started. I have a “what to know about celebrity” video coming out this weekend (hopefully!) which will have a lot of our own tips and things we were surprised by, keep an eye out 🌞 you’ll have an amazing time!x

@@PostcardAndAPint ah okay, I know plenty of people who love p&o. A lot of the seasoned p&o fans tell us we just need to try one of the newer ships for the full experience and that Ventura is quite tired and worn (which I agree). However, i think this is reflected in the price so is good value and if you’ve already been on Iona then you’re already familiar with p&o and will likely have a better experience than us, we didn’t know what to expect. We need to try Iona, heard great stuff about it and P&O just won an award for best ocean cruise line this year. We love Celebrity Cruises and Princess Cruises for similar size ships but a slightly different experience, can recommend those too.😊🛳️

It really is a shame but I could only access the cabins they had during the cruise turnover day… my guess is everyone in the owners suites were doing back to back cruises so the suites would’ve been occupied. Apologies for not being able to include this cabin type 😢😢 but what a suite to be sailing in!! Where and when is the cruise??😍🤩

@@BethandDavidCruise I'm going with my 80 year old mum. We're not great at sharing a cabin and on some cruises we have a veranda cabin each, but on Azamara we don't like how small the veranda cabins are and I don't like the tiny shower. Plus by the time you've paid the usual 100% single supplement you're not far off the cost of the top suites on Azamara. We need a door or partition so I can read late evenings while mum sleeps, so the spa suite or continent suite is no good for us. At that point the price difference between Ocean and Owners was sufficiently small I decided to go all out. Plus by the time we booked 6 days after it went on sale there was only a guaranteed Ocean suite left and only 6088 (which we've booked) and a guaranteed Owners suite left. Only half of the Ocean and Owners suites have a bed that can be split into twins, and which ones varies from ship to ship. 6088 can be split into twins on Journey so we went for that rather than not knowing with a guaranteed cabin type.

@@BethandDavidCruise . I was planning to try our first transatlantic with oceania Nov 2025 . After listening to several reviews by other cruise critic couples :) The claim "the best food at Sea" seemed to fall flat on its face. Also The nightime ativities seemed limited. I don't want to be inbed with my cocoa at 10pm after taking my tablets. We like to party a bit :) so it looks like Celebrity for us . (I have not been paid for this review ) :) LOL

@@theapprentice2298 hahah hmm maybe we’ll have to try it out for you then and give our verdict 😆 yes the only thing I’ve heard about it negatively is the entertainment is very limited. I’m a bit of an old person in a young body though, I don’t mind being in bed by 10! Can’t speak for david though, despite the quietness on our vlogs, he’s actually the social one! Celebrity is always a good fall back in any case.

Thanks for this. Looks great. I would really like to try Azamara as our next cruise. My son and daughter who are in their early thirties will probably come with us. Were there any other people on your cruise of similar age to you? I don’t think they would mind too much if not as both are a bit nerdy and get on well with an older age group!

@@karenparry367 thank you! We definitely recommend Azamara. We were surprised to find there were quite a few younger people, families and couples. Whilst it’s mostly older passengers, everyone we meet on Azamara has such a young soul to them, and as said above, there were enough young people for us to not stand out too much. Do you usually cruise and if so which line?
