    Thanks for posting this video, the food looks incredible. We normally sail Holland America, but I think Azamara has better value going from Montreal to Florida. We booked a future cruise onboard Celebrity 5 years ago while they were still sister lines, so our deposit is already set.

      @@thejokerspeaks thank you! We haven’t sailed HA but it’s definitely near the top of our list to try next. We just got of a Celebrity cruise and we love that line, but as soon as we got off we booked our next cruise on Azamara in only a few weeks because as you say it’s great value. Since the alcohol is included at the base price, the price jump isn’t so different considering you’re getting small ship and premium service. If you’re looking to book with Azamara, let David know david.wilburn@panachecruises.com and he can get you a better deal than booking straight with the line. (Panache cruises is a luxury travel agency). I’ll have lots more better Azamara videos coming out soon (alongside all the Celebrity content from the one we just got off!) ☺️🛳️

    We sailed on the Pursuit last year and are a few weeks away from a trip on the Quest. I think you did a great job of describing the good and not so great aspects of food on Azamara. Overall we thought the food , especially in the main dining room, was very good.

    please remember when Beth says the buffet is not very large....this is a 700 passenger ship. I have traveled with Azamara for 14 years, 22 cruises and I can recall ONE really bad dish, one undercooked chicken meal. The food is amazing, the staff are well trained and all four of their ships are truly the best.

    • @BethandDavidCruise
      @BethandDavidCruise  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Really couldn’t agree more. We’re used to ships with 2-3K passengers so a larger buffet which is why I said this, but after this cruise we did a 3K passenger cruise on p&o and it really put into perspective how well sized the Azamara buffet was for the number of passengers. We hope to go back on Azamara this summer with food being one of the main motivations to.. can’t fault it!

      Oh no! Honestly we couldn’t really fault it but food is personal.. we really didn’t like some food on other lines (our recent p&o video) and we’ve had so many comments disagreeing with us. We think Azamara has some of the best, but you have to remember it’s a Premium line not Luxury, so perhaps it’s not to the standards of more expensive lines… we still loved it though. have a great time!!

    this is an AMAZING video, the BEST review we've ever seen on a cruise. THANK YOU. I've always wondered why critics and reviews NEVER include detailed menus and photos. It's as if it is a secret r something....lol.
    We are thinking Mediterranian cruise in the early summer. Can I ask if you were allowed to double up on entrees if you wished (order a plate of scallops as well as a steak (if available of course)). THANKS Again and I look forward to hearing from you! Cheers!

      Thank you that’s very kind! Every food item was worth capturing😍 and yes! You can definitely ask for more than one thing, we often would when I wanted to try 2 or 3 things for main or dessert. The only place that probably wouldn’t let you is speciality restaurants as you pay to eat in there but main dining room you definitely can - in fact it’s hard not to 🤣. A med cruise on Azamara would be amazing, we did round Greece and was one of our favourites ever. David’s a cruise connoisseur at Panche Cruises and can help you out finding the right cruise and getting you a better deal than on Azamara if you’d like - his emails David.wilburn@panachecruises.com so send him an email if you’re interested! Would definitely recommend Azamara if you want a small friendly ship with class and homeliness, as well as great food!😍

    Question, I’ve never travelled Azamara before, but will be on Feb 18 to Antartica on the Quest. The menus you showed look amazing, and I was wondering if in the main dining room or speciality restaurants you can order more than 1 appetizer or more than 1 main course? Or are you limited to just 1 each per person. Thanks

      Hiya thank you for watching! We didn’t try ordering extra in the speciality restaurants so not sure in there - but definitely in the main dining room! I often couldn’t choose between mains or desserts so we’d get one or two to share in the middle on top of our usual order. They’re super accommodating in the main dining room for anything extra you’d like. Sounds like you’re in for an amazing experience.

    Glad you enjoyed the food on Pursuit. We got off Pursuit on March 9, 2024 after 18 nights from Cape Town to Las Palmas, Gran Canaria. Have to say we found the food quite unpalatable. There was a strange South Asian twist to almost everything. The description of the entrees in the MDR was often very different than what was delivered to the table. An "all dressed baked potato" was actually a square of some kind of scalloped potato. "Green beans" were actually green onions. For two evenings both our entrees had green beans, and then they disappeared off the menu for the rest of the cruise. We know from previous experience that South Asian chefs tend to undercook potatoes, and they were often quite raw when served on this cruise. At breakfast we also found the crew handing us almost black bananas that were over-ripe when peeled. We ate once in the premium Prime C and once in Aqualina. Very nice service and atmosphere but the food was forgettable. And in the MDR what was the intent with allowing diners to select one piece of bread or bun and receive one pat of butter? Any decent cruise line provides a basket of bread on the table and lots of butter. But no, you had to beg for a second bun. Also instead of chocolate in the cabin at bedtime there were miniscule squares of some baked good that appeared to be left over from the food service desserts earlier in the day. Such a penny-pinching approach. We had expected a higher quality of food on Azamara since they promote themselves as a premium line. Anything but in our first (and last) experience.

    • @BethandDavidCruise
      @BethandDavidCruise  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Oh no what a shame you didn’t enjoy it, we really loved ours but we did notice Azamara do love to sink into the local culture, so we cant complain about Mediterranean food😍 we like they don’t put a bread basket on the table - we don’t have the control to hold back on the bread then we can’t finish our meals 🤣 sounds like a luxury line instead of premium is for you - have you tried other lines? If so which ones do you like? Interested to hear what you think.

      We’re off on Celebrity in a week and can’t wait for the buffet but it’s been 2 years since we’ve been on Celebrity so I’m hoping it’ll be the same standard as before. Saying that, the quality on Azamara is very high so can’t be replicated at such a volume as Celebrity. What is the general dress code at dinner? We are going on Azamara Pursuit in July. Does my wife need a dress and would I need a jacket? Are the specialty restaurants expecting you to be smarter? Regards Duncan and Sarah

      @BethandDavidCruise  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hi Duncan and Sarah, thanks for watching! It was very elegant casual most nights, maybe some trousers and a buttoned or collared shirt for a man, and a nice casual dress or equivalent for ladies. No jacket needed for most nights. For the speciality we dressed up a bit more but nothing too fancy (no ties etc). One night we celebrated for personal reasons and dressed up (full suit, nice dress) and everyone kept commenting on it so we felt a bit out of place. I’d bring one or 2 more formal outfits but the rest can be nice casual. I think you can dress however you like though (as long as not super casual for restaurants etc)

    I’ve never been on a cruise before but may go on the pursuit in August. Do people leave the port to go back and eat lunch on the ship? Or did you not get off the ship on some days? The sailing I’m looking at has no full days at sea.

      Hi, thanks for watching🌞 we absolutely loved the Azamara, would definitely recommend! We had mostly ports too, but we loved the patio grill too much to not be there at lunch no matter the port but a lot of people would eat off the ship to try the local food. We liked going back to the ship for lunch as it was generally quiet so was really nice having the pool to ourselves! It doesn’t really matter what you do and depends on the port. Sounds a bit picky really ….pizza isn’t really a deal breaker for most folk on a real quality cruise ship …it’s clear that the point of difference with Azamara is the small buffet which equates to the sub 700 passengers aboard.
    The variety and quality on Azamara is outstanding really in my opinion .
    That isn’t afternoon tea in the living room …it’s an assortment of snacks should you wish to avail of them , I know if you want people dressed up and walking in to the tune of the teddy bears picnic then Cunard is your gig …
    And I think I would have had you down as a cookie dough ice cream person 🤣….you probably don’t even like rum and raisin….

      Hahah well we have to find something to nitpick on.. and pizzas always important to us in our 20s, but we’ll happily give that one a miss considering the rest of the food was outstanding. Having just been on Celebrity who has the best buffet at sea in our opinion, we’ve concluded we like the smaller buffet anyway, less choice but more enjoyment of the food and feeling less bloated all the time! We eat until we feel sick (still think we have teenage metabolisms when we don’t😅) and that becomes tiring. Never felt like that on Azamara. And yes, I cruises with Cunard a lot in my earlier years and loved the afternoon tea and dress up, but not so much these days. And I don’t think I’ve ever tried rum and raisin.. maybe one day🤔 my recent obsession is plain frozen yogurt with chocolate sauce and sprinkles.. I’m a chocolate fiend!! Thanks for your kind comments.😊

      Azamara is a bit more on the civilised and steadier side of life ….totally agree about the Grill , so nice to sit out in the fresh sea air , have a beer and a burger etc.. love the content and your take on cruising…
      We hope to get on another Azamara trip next year, and your video confirmed that plan , we have 3 booked for the rest of this year , 2 Cunard and 1 celebrity …. Tough life 😎..
