Pollution increase in winter months is age old problem. Cool stable climate and high pressure region develops over South East Asia post Mid October. The cooler air mass is more denser hence forms compression and inversion which traps all Pollution below it . Say inversion layer is at 10000ft the pollutants are trapped in larger vertical column of air as compared to if inversion layer is at only 2000ft . Particulate matter is spread over larger vertical column for most of the year with heat and rains causing the air masses to less stable unlike the cooler air mass . As a pilot you see the haze layer at lower levels all over India starting at around 5*6000 ft above which the air is crystal clear . Very little Pollution say in central india but the same cool air mass exist. North india with densities of people, vehicles, industry, increase in fire burning for heat and also stubble burning aggravate the problem .
When you both can speak Hindi/Urdu what's the point of doing this in English
helps reach wider audience
Omg, What an intellectual, Sunil Sir hats off to your knowledge and depth of the issue. My favourite episode of pakistonomy so far.
Good efforts uzair..more power to your work❤

In 1947 the only one who got liberty was the India... So thats why the whole east Indian companies was shifted in fuckdistan... 🎉... Me chalta hun dushman k bacho ko prhany

Same reason why Pakistani doctors don't recommend weight lifting. Strong bones means lower CLTV.

Good content, long time subscriber from India 🇮🇳, keep up the good work !!
Thanks a ton!
Unani medicines are very good and also are halal . Muslims must do what Islam requires them to follow
Stop putting religion in everything 😅
Wtf 😂😂😂 damn there are still fools out there..is smartphone and TH-cam halal??
No comment surprisingly
Wow this was much needed conversation around the issue which has become so much trivial in day to day attitude of Pakistani people and State likewise. Its a loss at such an unimaginable level and we are not even aware. Experts like Abid and platform like Pakistanomy are doing wonderful work. Keep it up guys❤
How do you claim that Pakistan is only 5 years behind India in terms of environmental policy? India has - invested and continues to invest in mass public transport - invested and continued to invest in electric buses - major push towards clean energy - push for afforestation - push to monitor and reduce effluents from industry - significantly reduced use of single use plastic - major investments in logistics which reduces logistics cost and associated pollution - replaced regular bulbs with LED bulbs - improved fuel quality - monitors fuel emissions from vehicles - incentivizing farmers in Punjab and Haryana to move away from crop burning - has modern refineries - is updating building codes in cities to be far more environmentally friendly The policies listed above have taken more than 10 years to implement and they have not even started in Pakistan. The causes you mention for pollution of Lahore cannot explain why the AQI level in Lahore in November 2024 is twice that of November 2023.
If transportation is the biggest emitter in Lahore, then why is the AQI 15 times that of Dallas where number of passenger miles driven is 1/20 of Dallas?
Fuel quality and car emission standards. We discussed this in the conversation as well.
Lahore AQI is 5-6 times as bad as New Delhi.
We need to raise more awareness and educate people around us! #LahoreSmog
Love you guys ❤️
This episode should have been in Urdu, not English. You'd reach way more people with Urdu, so please look into it.
Pakistan is to do nothing if iran is attacked, just like iran did nothing and still nothing, when indians run camps for baluchs in iran. Pakistan has to stay completely neutral in war between iran-usa-israel.
People hates maruti cars bcoz of safety reasons in india but 7 out of 10 maruti budget cars run on cng which is better fuel... and if this study is right that transportation cause more aur pollutions than other factors then we should celebrate maruti Suzuki cars... Bcoz we can't afford electric cars for atleast a decade.
fake canadian accent in the house
Abid is a Champ
Population control of South Asia
India, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Bhutan, Bangladesh are already below replacement rate so only “Population control of Pakistan” is the problem not “South Asia” .
More like pop control of Muslims. You guys are bursting.
Respected, To solve these kind of questions/ issues, kindly study how ZAB solved in Shimla. Unlimited other examples
Great job sir ❤❤
Lahore: Choke me Delhi :)
Information podcast. Thank you Uzair.
Ban on public spaces is not to reduce smog, but to limit the exposure. Pls dont link it with smog reduction. Also, this is according to the approved Advisory system. China, first stopped then cured. During the smog season, no option left except lock downs and bans....
Uzair, you are conveniently overlooking the victory of Trump in spite of a lot of logic by you in favour of Democratic party. I visit the US for a few months and seen how the life in the US has degraded under Biden and democratic governors specially in California and despair with which normal citizens about the lawlessness, reduction in power and numbers of police.
Irani fuel is below standard
India is slowly replacing Bharat Stage 4 (equivalent to Euro 4) with BS 6 (Euro 6) fuel... what fuel emissions standards Pakistan follow??
Euro 4 is the current standard.
Mujhe dedo lease pe...10 times doonga, bas Pakistan nahi aaunga
Humanity will finally prevail... Humanity=Sanatan Dharma... radical idiots will burn... radical chutiyon, jaake apna Dharma padho..
In villages...Stoves in home are also a factor. This is the story of a large population who uses traditional fire to cook. I am living in village in chiniot.pak
But not so common in cities like Lahore
Luckily I am in Goa and air is as fresh as it can be but 1800 AQI is not bad but virtually living in a room full of smoke
Why's there 2 of u? Why are u talking to yourself?
Those glasses aren’t fooling anyone
The guest was quite manic and egoistical. Racist. Chaldeans passing off as white omg. Hinduphobic crap. I suppose she isn’t looking for another position in the government. It appears you are transitioning into a nutter yourself.
America is the main reason Palestine is suffering, but Muslims worldwide should also take up human rights issues of other communities. Only then they will speak up for you. What hollow brotherhood is this that you feel for Muslims at the other end of the world but not for your neighbors? Baffles me every time. This guy looked really hurt about Obama pointing out the need for reformation in Islam. That really tells you what's wrong. Uzair is certainly much brighter than this chap.
Muslims are victims everywhere they are in minority , however they are terrorists in Muslim majority countries . For eg Muslims are victims in Kashmir , but terrorist in Balochistan and KP
Shadi Hamid- don’t you think that by promoting democrats you are forgiving genocide?! You are sending a message that genocide is NOT a red line for you. Genocide did not make you change your political views and you just continue what you’ve been doing for all these years - support Democrats! How will anyone ever take muslims/arab/human rights conscious people seriously if they vote for Genocide?!!.. Why not 3rd party with eyes on the future to break the 2-party system?!
They keep saying Muslin Americans are not a monolith, but is there any segment, even a minuscule one, that isn’t sympathetic to the Hamas narrative?
What complete garbage this woman spewed. Then I checked her linked in, worked for pelosi and is a through and through corporate dem. Perfectly parroted the talking points from corporate dems down to Jill Stein being funded by republicans. So obnoxious and insufferable and she’s a comms expert who doesn’t let the interviewer complete ONE sentence.
I’m sorry very obnoxious and completely lacking in nuance. Very unlike your regular guests, who usually go beyond binaries and add context and a richness to the debate, which most of your listeners appreciate. She was repeating a lot of corporate Democratic talking points
She’s an angry dem preaching tolerance while throwing f bombs 😂
Absurd logic here from Shadi. Some points to flag: - it’s not just the president who makes foreign policy as he knows better than anyone. The key pillars of the foreign policy largely remain the same - the whole democrsfic administration has a large part to play. To say the VP of the administration is not complicit in policy is a strange thought. Especially in recent times when Biden has largely been senile and Harris is more or less the person in charge. - sure, trump might continue to same, change it…however, the Biden-Harris administration has actually supported the genocide in every way imaginable over the last year. So it’s not so much of a question mark as to what they will do - they have already shown you. - if Muslims still continue to support Harris after all that has happened then the Democratic Party will make the assessment that these people are completely expendable. Despite us (Democratic Party) doing the worst, they still come and vote for us. All leverage would then be lost for good. - if they must, Muslims can go and vote for Jill Stien and register than as a protest vote rather than voting for democrats again. - is there no shame whatsoever left for people still to be advocating to vote for Harris? It’s like an abused wife still showing up to support her abusive husband despite repeatedly being battered. “We want to be seen, we want to be heard”…sounds totally pathetic
